Addison Police Department – Jail

I have had my tours of DFW and surrounding jails and county facilities. I broke up with s vengeful woman. 8 trials later with all not guilty verdicts and two more to go. Addison jail is actually a quite pleasant one. The chicken pot pie was large hot, with lots of grave inside. Good food. Compare that to the chicken pot pie at the Irving One and you will instantly see that addison rocks over Irving. Also the attitude of the guards in addison was much more laid back. No bitching for the sake of bitching. Both irving and addison jail were cold though.
The Colony jail was very quiet. It was clean and did not smell at all. The biggest issue is that you may have to wait a long long long time for a phone call. The phones in the cells don’t work most of the time. Food is not much at all. I dont know how many calories you get but it is certainly not very many. I will thank them though as I had never had had 1 pop tart for lunch and 1 pop tart for dinner before. I now love pop tarts.
Belton was the noisiest, dirtiest, loudest, of all the jails in have «visited.» I did not eat the food provided for either. Overcrowded and all the staff were stressed it seemed. One lady c/​o I remover though was «Ms Blue.» She had a heart and seemed to give a damn. She must have been new to the job or an exceptional woman.
Euless jail. What can I say? You are my favorite. The chicken enchiladas were great. Thank you again for noticing I am a big guy and giving me a second order for dinner. I had my own cell in the pod. A shower with hot water when I wanted it. A television in the red. Room. Spacious, clean, quiet, great food, and surprise no assaults on employees there.
Denton county is just a big facility. Lots of people coming and going so the staff are too busy to make a point on just one person unless you give them reason to. Tuesday’s is pancakes with peanut butter at 3.30am. That is the only meal that you get which is decent. It seems that the food is terrible on purpose and in very small portions on purpose. Here me out here. You get $ 80 to spend if you have the money twice a week on canteen food. This is overpriced by 300 per cent of course (how does that song go? I oh my soul to the company store). This is in my opinion to maximize profits and cut down costs. Not a bad plan except you then have the haves and have nots. There are a lot of inmates there who have no access to Mindy. They appear half starved and always looking for a bite of food off a left over plate.
No visitation in Denton county. It has to be pre planned thru the video system and is expensive. Very cold but clean. The infirmary had a lady who stood out. One she smelled exceptional, two she had this smile on her face that made everyone’s day better.
Dallas county. It sucks plain and simp, e!

I have been here three nights… Just came over from because farmers Branch where I was living for 3 yrs didn’t appeal to me but mostly because I don’t like the people that live around me (friendly terminology)… Anyways back to Addison…
The officers showed up tonight because I moved into a new place (fancy keep in mind I’m no hobo Jo) anyway, they reviewed both sides of my complaint, arrested a crazy bitch who was… Nevermind, and gave me my minimum time where I can feel comfortable at my own home I’ve been recently moved into for 48 hrs … These guys are freaking life savers because I don’t want no drama. I moved for a fresh start with company I deserve.
Thank you for listening, dealing, and acting in the most respectful manner I have ever seen. I feel these officers are trained well and to treat justice fairly. It makes me feel like they are on my side and not against me.

I gave this agency three stars because I’ve gotten a few tickets in Addison and the officers I’ve dealt with have been great guys. Just trying to do their jobs and they were very professional in their dealings with me. Even the Addison Court is extremely friendly and fair. Very professional people.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Addison, TX it’s a quiet, uppercrust, little bedroom community filled with Starbucks, Whole Foods, Specialty Stores and Yuppies. It’s the type of community where a ‘discount bake sale’ would probably make the local news so you know from that nothing ever really goes on. So yeah. their cops are bored. (I’ll mention this point again below).
Now, I would have given the police department more stars if I wasn’t so peeved about how they are policing. Addison is very low on crime (which is a good thing) but in my opinion their officers are indeed very bored. I saw this on another post as well and I have to agree. So what Addison is doing is what I call ‘Policing for Profit’. I work in Carrollton, TX and I drive to work from Dallas. There are only two ways to get to my job. I either have to take the Toll Road (which is super expensive, around $ 10.00 a day) or I have to take Midway (which is a MAJOR ticket trap) for Addison or I could take Marsh Road (which is a MAJOR ticket trap for Farmers Branch). The police in both cities know that many people take either of these two roads to get to International Parkway in Carrollton and these two roads are ‘Multi Million Dollar’ Revenue makers for both cities. It seems that BOTH cities (Addison and Farmers Branch) have a significant number of their officers on ‘traffic duty’ because again they make so much money from these two streets. And they will pull you over for ANYTHING. Any little thing that the City of Dallas won’t focus on, the police in Addison and Farmers Branch will focus on.
But back to Addison (as I don’t want to get off topic with Farmers Branch) — It appears that Addison has about a THIRD of their ENTIRE police force hiding out behind buildings and bushes on Midway in the early morning rush and doing nothing but stopping folks and giving tickets. Again, tickets for ANYTHING and they NEVER issue a warning. EVER. It’s all about the $$$$$.
I don’t believe Police should be used, as the Justice Department so accurately put it, as a means to ‘generate revenue’. Their purpose should be to stop CRIME. I understand that they will issue traffic tickets but when you focus ONLY on traffic tickets and how much money they can bring in that is bothersome to me. Police shouldn’t be used in this fashion. It’s not that there’s more crime on Midway, it’s just that the City of Addison knows that this strip is heavy with traffic due to the only other option being the Toll Road and they have placed their cops heavy along this road to make as much money as possible in traffic fines.

I felt so violated last night. A friend of mine and I sat in our car outiside of my hotel room last night. Addison PD saw us just simply sitting in the car and immediatly got out and started questioning us. Not 1 cop car, not 2 cop cars but 3!!! They ran our names and told us they had the right to question us even though we were doing nothing wrong. They insulted my friend and told him he shouldn’t have to pay for sex when that simply wasn’t the case. They thought I was prostituting! He and myself have excellent jobs working in very professional fields and cannot believe our rights were violated in the way they were. I live in Arlington and never in my life has anything ever happened like this to me. I was so afraid and didn’t know what to think. By the end of it all I was literally shaking. And as I sat in my hotel for the next 2 hours I could here a couple fight and arguing their butts off but where the police for these actual offenders? I respect police to the fullest and understand their job is dangerous and they have to take extra measures to insure our safety BUT this was just wrong. Had I been prosituting we would have for damn sure not been sitting outside the hotel, we would have been inside!

This agency absolutely sucks. They are so bored, they choose to make every person a criminal. Its pathetic. Get a life, go after real criminals, Dallas is full of them. The police department is bogus, records are completely unorganized, they lose police reports that prove domestic violence and all of a sudden they vanish. Its BS and for what you pay to live here its absurd

I’ve never reviewed a police department before! This place was bomb! If I ever have to deal with a ticket again, I hope it is from Addison! This was such a breeze to get in and out. I thought it was going to take my whole lunch hour and instead it ended up taking not even more than 10 minutes!
I was issued a Handicap ticket for parking in the Handicap and not putting my placard up. I recently had surgery on my foot, so I have a temporary Handicap placard and since I am not in the habit of putting it up I forget at times. This time, I got caught. Which is good because people who park in the Handicap spots who don’t have a Placard really piss me off. Anyway…
I went in, ticket and placard in hand, with my driver’s license and explained to the receptionist I had forgot to put the placard up when I parked. She asked if I had the ticket and placard, to which I replied yes ma’am. She asked for my driver’s license and then said, «Let me go see if the judge will dismiss this.» Not even sixty seconds later was she standing back in front of me to say, «He dismissed it. Let me get you a receipt.» Printed me out a receipt of a waived balance of $ 462 and I was on my happy way!
First off, WOW these are the nicest government workers I have ever seen. Second off, $ 462 for parking in the Handicap spot!?! Yes!
Lesson to learn here, don’t be the jerk who parks in the Handicap spot. Other people actually need it. :) Lesson learned for me, get tickets in Addison because the process will go faster.

If you call Addison Police to assist you, all they want to do is find reason to make an arrest! They act like everyone is potential felon when you are the victim! My friend’s purse was stolen out of Gloria’s Restaurant and they refused to take a report because they are too lazy and only do paperwork related to an arrest apparently! My friend was inebriated and they took advantage of this. The way the officer questioned her was confusing to me and I wasn’t even drunk! He tricked her into not filing a report. Identity theft is rampant and I’ve had another friend arrested because her ID was stolen and used in a felony. If she hadn’t been able to file a police report, she NEVER would have been able to get out from under that erroneous arrest. I will do my utmost best to avoid hanging in Addison, especially at Gloria’s Restaurant!

Addison jail is freaking awesome. I get pulled over one night in Dallas for a minor traffic violation and the cop runs a warrant check on me. I had forgotten about this one incident in Addison that I was involved in (an admission of guilt, I know) and put under arrest.
The arresting officer transports me to Addison and books me in, or inn, rather. I get fingerprinted and there was a photo opp, me being the model, of course.
The intake officer, or should I say concierge, was extremely accommodating. I guess she could tell that I was a bit bored by my thumb twiddling and staring at the cold white walls. She asks if I would like to watch a movie, which to a friends house I was a headed (when I got arrested) to do the same.
She rolls in a VCR, pops in a movie and turns out the lights. I cozy up under my red blankie and drift off to sleep.
The next morning another officer, or rather, the inn-​keeper, comes in and asks me what I want for breakfast. «what are my choices?» I ask. «We’re going to McDonald’s, what do you want?» Oh…
” I’ll have an Egg McMuffy and some hashies, if you don’t mind” I say.
I know Motel 6 has a commercial that says «we’ll leave the light on for you.» Maybe so, but they certainly don’t grab Mickey D’s in the morning for ya. In Addison Jail they do.
