Petite Pooch

I had been a customer here for years. Everything was always wonderful. Amber worked with my rescue baby and she was great with him. I took him there today only to receive a call from the manager saying to go pick up my «terror of a dog or else he would put him to sleep»!! I got there as soon as I could and I was greeted by the manager who told me to get my f***ing dog before he had him put to sleep. My poor baby was in a corner and had popped himself because he was so scared. The manager called me a number of curse words and even ran after me as I carried my dog out.
The police was called and it was a terrible, awful experience.

I had been going to Petite Pooch for over a year and stopped about 4 months ago. Amber, who is an excellent groomer, left for maternity leave. The interim groomers were terrible. My shih tzu is a rescue, she was previously abused and now has separation anxiety when away from me. Needless to say, I did my research and was pleased. The interim groomer was terrible in so many ways. Not only did they give her razor burn but she was scared to go outside, hid under tables and was not herself for a week. I called them and they suggested I bring her in. When I did she started shaking profusely outside the building. They claimed the burn was not them and to put neosporin on it. They said they would follow up and never did. Needless to say I will not be going back even though Amber is back due to the fact my dog seems pretty traumatized and I don’t want to subject her to anything more.

I have taken my little dog to one of the Petite Pooches for over two years. I have had him groomed at both locations. In the beginning i felt the employees were outstanding and felt good about leaving my little guy there. We left him many times for day car and boarding. We have been less satisfied as time goes on. We have had two bad experiences with the groomer at this location. The last was the final straw for us.
We had boarded our dog for the night and had him get a bath before we were to pick him up the following day. When we picked him up — they brought him out and his eyes were closed, so we thought he was tired. When we got to the car we realized his eyes were shut closed. We took him to the vet who said one of two things likely happened, he either had multiple eye drops put in his eyes (due to them being distracted) OR the eye drops could have had bacteria in them. This stripped the surface of the cornea from his eyes. We spent a week nursing him back to health while he was in extreme pain, as the eyes healed. So first of all, we don’t know how long he had been like this and no one noticed. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it had just occurred. There is no way to know for sure how long it had been, at least the person who brought him to us should have noticed.
When we contacted them about what had happened the manager was concerned and reacted as I would have expected, which we appreciate. When we spoke to the owner, he acted concerned and said he would get back with us after finding out what had happened.
The owner never got back with us, so that says it all to me. He had both our cell numbers. There is no excuse for not getting back with a customer, especially when something like this had happened. Just wanted to share our experience as our dog is very important to us and I would hate to find out this happened to anyone else.

My dog kiki loves to come here to play and burn all that energy that she has stored. She wasn’t getting enough exercise at home and also she didn’t have any dog friends to play with because of her breed. People would evade us at the park because of her looks without giving her the chance to socialize. Thanks to Petite Pooch she gets the chance to be around other dogs and people and show how gentle she is.

I have taken my rescue poodle here for the past two years. The staff has become like family to both of us! The daycare is always clean and the staff is always very friendly. They truly care for the dogs like they are their own and will call you if there are ever any concerns with your fur baby.
Bailey has had terrible anxiety from being rescued and hates being left anywhere. Not a problem here! She gets so excited when we pull up and is always ready for play or cuddle time!
Amber does an amazing job as a groomer. Poodles are very hard to cut and Bailey isn’t always the easiest to deal with … But she loves Amber and she always gets so many compliments on how great she looks when she leaves!
I have also boarded her here multiple times. They always accommodate at the last minute and I wouldn’t want to leave her anywhere else! They get to play all day and get a lot of room to sleep at night.
My only complaint is they need another location in uptown/​downtown!!! :) I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place and the staff!!!

I cannot believe we lived in Addison for 2 years and never knew about this place until AFTER we moved. Regardless… I will still drive over here to get our dogs (Toby & Tinkerbell) groomed here. Everyone is very nice and our dogs came back looking as cute as ever.
You get a free day of doggy daycare if you get them groomed, which is awesome. I drop them off on my way to work at 8:00 and pick them up at 5:00.
Please do not take your dogs to Petsmart or Petco for grooming… the prices are maybe a $ 10-​$ 15 difference and you and your dogs don’t get NEAR the treatment as you would at a dog spa. Our dogs get play time during the day and get fed… not locked in a cage all day.
My pups are actually due for a grooming… time to make a phone call :)

As you can see by how many check in’s I have here I’m here pretty often. I travel a fair amount for work and when my family or friends can’t watch my dog I take him here.
The staff is always really friendly and they know my dog by name whether I’m dropping him off or calling for a grooming appointment. My dog is like my child and I never worry about him when I drop him off at Petite Pooch. I’m pretty sure my dog loves it here also because whenever I pull up to drop him off he gets super excited to be here. This location mostly, from my understanding, boards medium to smaller sized dogs so my little guy it’s dealing with some huge Great Dane while he plays.
I also bring him here for all of his grooming. They always do a great job and when I pick him up he’s always wearing a new bandana they put on him. When I’ve tried other places they don’t do little extra touches like that AND they charge a lot more usually.

After much trial and error I found Petite Pooch. This is the only place I trust to board my 2 chihuahuas! Friendly staff, reasonably priced, and our dogs seem very happy and well taken care of when we pick them up.

I absolutely love bringing my dog here! I have been looking for a good doggy daycare as I’ve taken Bentley to a couple different places and was never really impressed. By chance I found petite pooch and couldn’t be happier. They are always so accommodating, and kind. You can really tell they enjoy what they do. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome doggy daycare :)

My black lab Rose loves coming here. The staff is always very friendly and takes wonderful care of her. I have left her for extended trips and never worry about her because I know she is in great hands.

I’ve brought my bulldog here to get groomed and he always come home looking like a stud. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. I had to be at work early and the manager came in early to receive my doggy. I will continue to come back over and over. I hope they open a location closer to me :-) I drive from plano to Addison just to come here. My Deebo loves it here!

I went there on a week day and they could accommodate within a short notice, that’s the ONLY reason for the 1 star !!
I adopted a GSD and he ‘appeared’ pretty Clean and groomed ‘OK’. His nails were trimmed & glands expressed at the Vet’s, the same day that I visited this place (so very OBVIOUSLY i was thinking of asking Petite Pooch not to include it in the services, makes sense ??)
I visited and asked them for a Complete Bath + Hair trim. To my surprise he talked about ‘Refresh and Retreat’ package. I kept quiet assuming that he is going to make some price adjustments since I’m NOT AVAILING half of the services the package offers !
Upon my return he charged me the complete price for the package some $ 76! Okay!
I Return home and could feel & SMELL my dog didn’t even touch water… forget about a Bath! I noticed some unevenly cut hair here and there though.
They simply took advantage that the Dog was pretty much Clean and I still had taken him there.
Two words. STAY AWAY !!!

We’ve been using Petite Pooch for almost a year. This place is really outstanding. Great owners and staff, they genuinely care about the animals under their care. The pricing is such that we never think about it being cost prohibitive in any way, daycare, grooming, boarding. It’s excellent care at a good price. So glad we found these guys. And best of all… our little buddy Bradley really loves it there… he told us so!

UPDATE REVIEW:
To be fair, the staff really love and care about dogs. They work very hard! Unfortunately, the owner and manager are not running a tight ship. This facility actually separates small dogs by putting a rubber band around the doorknobs of French doors. Dogs frequently break through and you have an instant dog fight. This happened to my little 8 pound Yorkie. An employee (not the manager or the owner) called me at work to say my dog was in a fight and had been injured. My heart sank in my chest. My dog is very submissive and shy so I was furious. How could this happen??? A faulty rubber band is the culprit! They offered me no refund or vet fees and acted like it was no big deal. Very. Nice.
Needless to say we have not been back. Great staff, poor management, recipe for disaster. That is all.
THIS WAS THE FIRST IMPRESSION:
I’ve been bringing my dog here for day care for about 3 months now. The facility is clean, the staff is really accommodating, the typical smelly dog odor don’t assault your nose when you walk in and my dog loves it here. The location is a somewhat out of the way and they don’t have cameras for live video stream but the price makes up for that. I’ve used many, many dog day cares over the years, so I’m really happy I found this place. I’m sure my doggie is too.

We live in Austin but when we visit Dallas, our rescue dog Sherman is NOT happy about it. He does not do well when we leave him by himself, so we started taking him to petite pooch château. Besides the great Addison location, I love their pricing structure – they charge by the hour, so you don’t have to pay for a full day if you’re only needing to leave your dog here for a few hours. They are very easy to deal with, and our drop-​offs and pick-​ups are very quick – no waiting.
Sherman seems to like it here although he visits infrequently since we do not live in Dallas. The staff treats him sweetly and talks to him to make him feel included even though he is an out-​of-​towner.
I just wish they opened a little earlier during the week and stayed open later on weekends.
If you want to check them out, do what I did – ask for a tour of the facility and leave your dog here for just a couple of hours to see how he/​she does.

We have taken our dog here for years. I love it! Always a good experience EXCEPT for my last. They «lost» my 20% off coupon. So when I picked up the puppy I ended up paying 20% more because they could not find the coupon that was dropped off with the dog. Interesting… they said I couldn’t have the discount without the coupon. Thinking about using a different place next time. Customer service was a little lacking.

Took my dog in Sunday to get groomed and she looks amazing! I got her from a shelter so she’s really clingy to me but scared of everyone else… they took the time to make her feel comfortable and to give her the best experience possible. Will be coming back!!!

Our rescue dog is terrified of everyone. When we first adopted her 9 months ago, it was a miracle if she allowed someone besides us to even reach a hand down toward her without her running away. Fortunately, she loves every other dog in the world, so we thought daycare would be a good opportunity for her to get socialization with dogs and get used to some new people. When we first came to Petite Pooch, we let the staff members know about our dog’s «special needs.» From that day on, every single person on staff at the Addison facility has gone completely out of their way to make our dog feel comfortable there. Any time a new person is hired, they go through the entire process to introduce themselves to her slowly and calmly, to give her space and gain her trust. When she was learning all her basic commands, the staff members even practiced her tricks with her as a way to give her some extra treats and attention. We have to drag her out to the car every time we pick her up now because she doesn’t want to leave, and for a while we even joked that she’d rather live there than come home with us!
The extra miles that the Petite Pooch staff has gone to make sure that both we and our dog feel extremely important and cared for are unbelievable. They have always done and continue to do above and beyond what we ask of them. We have never once had any reservations about leaving the care of our dog to them and we enthusiastically recommend them to all of our friends and neighbors. Without Petite Pooch, we honestly don’t believe our dog would have made the progress in confidence that she has made. I am so grateful to each and every member of the staff for the effort that they have shown in bonding with her and making sure she has a positive experience every time she sets foot in the building. It is still pretty indescribable to walk into daycare with her and see her run and jump on someone outside of our family, but that’s how she goes into Petite Pooch every time.
Aside from all these reasons, we also want to say that from the first day, we knew the names of all the staff members and they knew ours. We love to stand and chat with whomever is working at the front desk when we come into the building. It’s a warm and wonderful environment for 2-​legged clients as well! They always have at least one specific thing to tell us about how our dog did in daycare every day, so we always know the dogs are getting the supervision they need. We also were immediately impressed because on our first visit, we were given a tour of every inch of the facility so there were no questions about where the dogs are kept during the day. The interior of the building is clean and the outdoor yard is wonderful (to which the dogs get access regularly). We also love that the daycare rates are hourly because we tend to leave our dog at irregular times many days and no other facilities to whom we spoke offered that. If you truly love your dog and want a daycare or boarding facility who will love your dog just as much, this is the perfect place for you!

We’ve been taking our dog to the Addison location for about 6 months and we all love it.
We’ve used them for day care and also for boarding, and they are great.
I love it because the dogs get to run around and play all day-​whether inside or outside – and they have a nice yard, too.
I’m so glad that we found this place!
