Dioji K-9 Resort & Athletic Club

Came into town for a visit. I came to this place based on the Unilocal reviews, and they weren’t lying! Dioji was PAWSOME!!! I have a 1 year old Australian Shepherd, well-​socialized, but major separation anxiety. When I picked her up, I watched her out in the play yard for a bit before announcing myself. She was having so much fun! Playing with dogs, running around. Now we are back at the hotel and she is flat out passed out. Going back tomorrow. Thank you Dioji, for being a safe, fun place to take my pup.
Also, the first time you bring your dog is free! This place rocked!!!

This place is legit. My frenchie Harley had a blast here. We spoil our dog and she’s very clean and groomed ²⁴⁄₇. This place is very clean and had a nice sleeping area for the dogs. It met our high standards. They clean up poop ASAP. They are like poop scooping ninjas. That’s huge because we didn’t want our dog getting sick from sniffing poop. That’s nasty. They also allow raw food which is huge for us. They staff is amazing and very helpful. No nanny cams like other places, but when I left I felt very comfortable leaving my fur child there.
In addition the play time is included and there are slot of activities for the dogs. It’s not just a room with animals. Some places feel like a «kennel». This place is a resort, no doubt. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing staff! So helpful and caring! The facility amazing and we’ll kept! My pup loves this place is like his second Home! By the end of the day he is so tired! Great prices Too! My fur bby loves the pool especially in the summer weather, we’ll any weather at that!

Dioji is the best! My sister loves bringing her dogs Wyatt and Zoe here! Wyatt really loves the doggy pool The staff is amazing! You can tell they really care for the dogs and give them all a lot of attention! You can stop by and get a tour of the facility at any time! Also the first day is free! My puppy loves this place, and so do I! He ia a 4 month old Aussi, with lots of energy. After a day here playing with all sorts of other puppies, he is tired, but very happy. reasonable rates, nice staff, lots to do for the dogs. Can’t wait to take him again!

This place is amazing! The staff is first class and the facility is set up to ensure your dog is safe. We have a young Goldendoodle that loves going there and an older Chocolate Lab that is not all that excited to leave the kitchen at home or his master’s side; but he does well at Dioji.
There is always an abundant of staff on hand overseeing the dogs. There is never a moment that there aren’t several eyes on the dogs. And, each dog has to spend some time there to be evaluated to see if they can become «members» and return. No mean dogs are allowed.
We are retired and have started to leave our dogs there for a couple nights at a time while we are out of town. This is something we could have never done before without a place like this. All of the overnight «guest» stay in a large nicely appointed room with one of Dioji’s team members. While looking at Dioji’s web page we found our Goldendoodles’ photo there sleeping on a couch during one of his overnight stays. Very cool.
And, at what age can you take your puppy there? We were told that we could bring our eight week old puppy there as long as he had his first shots. What a great way to socialize a puppy with other dogs. They do keep dogs separated by size.
Judging by the number of dogs at Dioji I don’t think they need to advertise. I am guessing word of mouth and their reputation are enough to keep them in business and very busy.
So, fear not. Take you best friend there without worry or guilt!

Taylor absolutely loves the staff and the pool at Dioji. The staff is happy and friendly, and it’s the first place I’ve taken Taylor to where he happily goes off with the staff to the yard. When I pick him up in the afternoon, he’s happy and tired out from playing and swimming all day. Again, I am greeted with smiles and how was your day. They are efficient, loving and kind. I recommend them to all my friends with dogs.

Super impressed with Dioji and its staff. Today was our first visit here and Bronson had a fantastic day romping with all the dogs. Coming home we went straight for his favorite bed and is out cold!
The staff was really great and attentive and the facilities are top notch and über clean. Can’t wait to bring him back!
**UPDATE– Bronson now gets to come about twice a week and we both couldn’t be happier! All his puppy energy is out and life is peaceful again. He loves coming and has quite a few pals. So good for him and me!

We absolutely love Dioji! All three locations are amazing. The staff are friendly, personable, organized, knowledgeable, professional, and are dog lovers. I could go on and on. We appreciate them even more because they do not discriminate against breeds. They accept all well behaved dogs. They truly are the best doggy day care around. They should consider opening a location in Ventura County because the doggy day care facilities that are available in Ventura County cannot compare and do not measure up to Dioji. We would be lost without them. Keep up the great work, Dioji!

Cannot say enough amazing things about this place. My dog got out and my neighbor called Dioji to pick him up. My dog is not the nicest to strangers. They were extremely patient and waited for him to calm down so they could get him and take him back to Dioji. Was highly impressed at how much they cared my dog was taken to safety and their patience at getting him in the car.
We have also used them for boarding and are super happy with those services.

Stella loves Dioji. She jumps with excitement when we tell her she is going. We like to give her a few days a month for day care. It’s a great way to get her exercise. Stella loves the other dogs as well as the counsellors. We’ve tried other camps in the area. Dioji has a great space.

My dog has been throwing up and has (well don’t ask me) let’s just call it «undescribable» diarrhea. I e-​mailed over two hours ago. It took multiple phone calls to eventually get someone at Dioji to pick up the phone. The manager (Krystle) claims that raw meat diets are stored the same way they are delivered when a pet checks in. I’m not saying that this manager is personally BUT HER COMPANY IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE LYING!!! I serve my dog his raw meat diet frozen and I should never hear that the staff found it in the refrigerator and the next day or days later have it returned to me NOT FROZEN! if Dioji sells any raw meat diet, they shouldn’t be mishandling their client dogs’ diets.

I just love this place and so does my dog. He gets suuuuuuper excited when we walk in the lobby and the staff couldn’t be more welcoming to him.
For the most part, the staff are super nice and they usually know what my dog did that day and who he played with, which is nice. Some other places I have taken him, they take him to a back room and when I ask questions, they don’t really know what went on with him that day. Not the case here. Sometimes they even email me pictures of him playing!
They do a good job at personalizing your experience and dealing with special requests — i get the feeling that they really do care about the well being of my dog and that they are taking excellent care of him.
Everything they sell here is super healthy, which is nice as I only like to give my dog the best. And they are very knowledgeable about food and really helped me figure out what was right for my puppy as he is my first dog. They also give advice on behavioral/​illness issues. They are just really knowledgeable and willing to share to help with any issues I may be having with my dog. Again, they really personalize here, you feel very comfortable leaving your dog with them.
I love that it’s outdoors and you can watch them play — not a bunch of germs floating around an inside room. However, I’m not sure how that’s going to work in some of the hot 115 degree summer days that the valley gets.
It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for and I’m happy to do so to have a place I feel good about leaving my dog at.

I cannot rave about this place enough. We have a 4 month old lab/​shepherd mix puppy. He has been going to Dioji for a month now. My boyfriend and I both work a ton of hours and hate the idea of leaving our puppy, Hunter alone at our house all day.
I looked into a bunch of places and even toured a few before finding Dioji. All of the places I looked in to were either caging your dog or were filthy and had no system to deal with the constant flow of potty coming from the dogs. Dioji is extremely clean and well kept. The staff are all extremely friendly and really seem to care. It’s great that they take the time to learn each of the dogs names and their owners names. (Which is impressive, between all 4 yards they probably have 60 – 80 dogs at any time.)
Even with the number of dogs they can house it never seems crowded. Each of the yards are VERY large with tons of space and toys to run and play on. The dogs are checked for shots and aggression before being allowed to join as a member. Once a member the dogs are sorted based on size, temperament and play style. The dogs are never left unattended, one or two employees are in each cage at all times to make sure no one gets out of hand and to supply love when needed. :)
Hunter looks forward to going to Dioji each day. When we get off the freeway he starts getting SUPER excited. I would recommend Dioji to ANYONE!

Our Bernedoodle, Sparky, is a daily guest at Dioji for Puppy Play School — and he loves every minute of it.
The entire staff is helpful, outgoing, very caring and are always happy to give a daily report of who Sparky played with and what sort of things he doing throughout the day — such as naps, playing in the pool, etc.
One thing is guaranteed — he always comes home completely exhausted and ready for some nice mellow snuggle time… or a nap!

I’ve always been hesitant about even the mere idea of leaving my dog with strangers (I treat my dogs like furry children) but Dioji changed all of that. I’m happy to report that this was a case when judging a book by its pretty cover turned out to work out wonderfully! This is an excellent dog daycare.
I’d driven by Dioji a few times and decided to check it out one day with my mom. We instantly loved the pristine facility and professional staff. All of the dogs looked super happy to be there, and the environment itself was open (you can check out your dog playing with his or her doggy brethren through the large windows or chain link fences) and cage free. There’s also a pool (for larger dogs only, but they apparently bring out kiddie pools for the smaller dogs on hot days). Smaller dogs and larger dogs are separated.
My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Olive, is really sensitive and gets separation anxiety (our prior Cavalier was much more easygoing and physically stronger) so I was especially hesitant to leave her. When I dropped her off at Dioji for her evaluation, she didn’t even notice I was leaving — she was so preoccupied with her new friends. I did notice she was drooling a bit excessively, but the friendly staff informed me it was just nerves and she would adjust (she’d only been around one dog at a time previously — there were about a dozen dogs in the small dog area). I plan on taking her to dog parks to socialize her a bit. But overall, she seemed happy and tired when she came home. And I have video footage of her in a small sea of Frenchies and other small, adorable dogs. So cute.
The boarding facility is adjacent to the dog yard. It contains a bed (for the overnight employee who sleeps with the dogs — your dog is never left alone!) and cushions for the dogs to fall asleep wherever. I always hated the idea of putting a dog in a kennel but this is a great alternative for boarding. I’ll likely be using Dioji’s boarding service when I go out of town and can’t find a relative to dog sit, and will definitely use their doggy daycare for the stimulation, socialization, and exercise. It costs 30 $ for a half day, and 40 $ for a full day, to those who are wondering. Boarding is 75 $ a night. It’s not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
I highly recommend this facility to those who are like me and picky about who they leave their dogs with. Love this place!

Boarding our dog at Dioji for the first time was a fantastic experience. It’s a clean and very attractive facility. Each time I pulled up (just checking the place out, scheduling boarding, doing the pre-​boarding evaluation, drop off and pick up) the staff member out with the dogs was cheerfully and actively engaged in cleaning up or giving attention to the dogs. Once I made it inside, I continued to be impressed. The staff is friendly, accommodating and organized.
Our dog has very intense separation anxiety. They assured me of the steps they would take to help him if a problem should arise and followed through on the requests I made to give him some natural remedies to help ease the stress. I was worried that my dog would hobble through the weekend and then be a mess once he got home, but he came home tired AND happy! Oh, and smelling great and looking fluffy and fresh from his bath. He’s an awful shedder but they did some magic to his coat and he just looks beautiful.
It’s obvious they care about dogs and take pride in their business. We’ll certainly be back.

Absolutely love this doggy daycare! Our German Shepherd goes once a week for playtime and socialization with other dogs! The staff is very accommodating, super sweet and completely available for all the dogs at the drop of a hat. They watch them continuously and they are so taking care of. She will also go there if we ever have to go out of town because they’re boarding is amazing and completely cage free! We LOVE this place!

I am so in love with this place! I am getting a puppy soon and I don’t want some mediocre half day care in a cage. I came here after work just to check it out and someone working there was kind enough to show me all of the play areas and sleep areas. Let me just say, I could not ask for a better place. When I get my puppy he is totally coming here when I’m working. I’ll have an updated review once I use their services.
Let me just tell you, this place is perfection and With reasonable prices. Love it!
