Hop Aboard Trolley

I love this trolley and the owners.
I understand the demand for this machine, so just appreciate seeing it on the road.
I once owned a trolley, and I know how much work it is to keep on the road.
Hope I get to see it again at the Four Seasons Car Show :)

I was SUPER EXCITED to book Hop Aboard Trolley to transport the bridal party, as well as out-​of-​town wedding guests, to and from the venue for our August 2015 wedding. Unfortunately, after two months and various attempts, this proved to be impossible. Our e-​mail exchange follows:
March 27 (me to HTA): «It was a pleasure speaking with you today. As discussed, I would love learn more about your trolley rental packages for our August 15, 2015 wedding. For your reference, a rough timeline of events (by departure time) is below:. .. Please let me know if you have any questions or require any additional information. I look forward to hearing from you!»
April 12 (me to HTA): «I just wanted to check in and to provide an update to the rough events timeline that I provided in my previous e-​mail. Specifically, we are looking to change stop no. 1 to. .. instead of the previously provided location. Please let me know if you have any questions or require any additional information. I look forward to your response.»
April 14 (HTA to me): «Thanks for the info. I’ll get a contract to you for your review for August 15.»
April 27 (HTA to me): «sorry for any communication confusion. I lost my data and we are captuirng everyting from a back-​up. Did anyone get the contract to you for the August 15 proposal for Trolley Service? I see your information outline and an initial reply from Hop Aboard Trolley — but no additional contacts.»
April 27 (me to HTA): «Thanks for your message. I received your initial reply, but no contract as of yet.»
May 3 (me to HTA): «I hope you are well. Any updates on the status of the quote/​contract?»
May 18 (me to HTA): «I hope you are well. Just checking on the status of your quote. Please let me know.»
May 29 (HTA to me): «At this time we are not booking into August. We have requests to book most weekends for the rest of the year from one client — we haven’t executed any agreements yet. However, if we become available, our normal fee is $ 200/​hr with a driver gratuity of 15% for Saturdays with a 6 hour minimum. I’ll know in another couple of weeks if the one client will be using our services for the rest of the year. The trolley is Air-​conditioned, heated, is freeway ready, has a sound-​system for you to use your smart phone, and you can drink on-​board. It is a fun trip for the wedding party. Feel free to email or call me in a couple of weeks to see if we can accommodate your date and wonderful wedding experience.»

I never got past the customer service to actually use the trolley, so while it looks beautiful from the outside, the people managing it are disorganized at their best, and rude at worst. I called after seeing their trolley parked on the road, and spoke to a woman who indicated that because our wedding was on a Sunday, they would most likely be able to accommodate our budget. I then emailed with her husband, the other owner, who after one email and phone call, said he would talk to his wife, and then stopped responding to me (sent 2 follow up emails over 2 weeks, not unreasonable). I had let him know we could not send invites or make final hotel decisions until we knew what transportation we would have for our guests (everything is so interconnected when planning a wedding!) and he still sent no response. Finally, although I had misgivings about his lack of communication, I upped the budget to our max and sent a final email.
Instead of kindly declining, offering a counter-​price, or showing even the mildest amount of care for customer service, he simply wrote (after weeks of waiting on his answer) «Doesn’t work for us» and that was all. Terrible communication, terrible service. Beautiful trolley, but I would be hesitant to tell anyone to trust such rude people who seem to care so little about their customers or potential clients on such an important day.
