Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Owner and artistic director Michael Hawkins worked his way through the haircare ranks — from senior stylist to lead academy instructor to platform stylist — before going on to found Savvy Salon & Spa and the Beauty Studio. Now Michael leads a team of artists trained in creating styles that range from classic to fashion-​forward. But the goal is always the same: minimal maintenance. «My clients need to look great on a daily basis,» Michael says. «I won’t just throw the latest hairstyle on them. I look at their lifestyle, their personality and where they are in their life. With that knowledge, I’ll give them something that enriches their beauty from the inside out.»

Under Michael’s leadership, the salon has provided hairstyling for Elite model photo shoots, print editorials, and TV appearances. Savvy is also a semi-​finalist in the Global Salon Business Awards administrated by UCLA Anderson School of Management.
