I was told by the front desk assistant to write a positive review of SeaBreeze Dental, and if it stuck, then I’d get a discounted dental procedure. Here’s what really happened: first off, the dentist’s first comment was about how my front teeth point in slightly. He said he couldn’t stand it, and that I should pay him to fix it, even though multiple times I told him that I love my teeth as they are. Why was I even there – I almost forgot by the time he finally addressed my chipped tooth. The dentist, rather than taking care of me like a professional, groaned and whined about how he hated repairing chipped teeth unless he did his favorite expensive procedure: venneers. He wouldn’t listen to me and spent a lifetime trying to up-​sell me: I can’t afford veneers, but money meant nothing to him. When the procedure finally got going, he continued to whine and groan. «He’s just like this», his assistant said, forcing a smile. He wasn’t able to fix my tooth so that it was flush with my gums and finally stormed out: «I need a minute». Then his assistant said, «Don’t tell him, but I’m going to take a stab at it». She then proceeded to try to make the tooth flush, which she achieved, but not without actually filing off bits of my lower teeth!!! I later called to complain about this, about how I felt unsafe and uncomfortable, and even though I was assured my experience was important and that someone would call me back, no one ever did. I really advise you to not go here; I felt unsafe.

I had major dental work done here years ago and have visited multiple other dentists in attempts to correct the horrible and damaging work I received here. My fillings almost immediately started falling apart. They stuck a needle directly into what must have been a nerve, because I’ve never experienced this much pain in my life and even though I immediately started sobbing, broke out in a cold sweat and trembling from the pain, the doctor acted like it was completely normal. I had a crown installed that I have no idea now whether it was even necessary. I really wish I would have gotten a second opinion.
To top it all off they attempted to charge me over twice the amount we agreed on, handing me the credit card slip while I was still sitting in the chair with all sorts of instruments in my mouth. It was horrible. After visiting other dentists over the years I’ve realized that no, the needle should not have hurt that much and i should not have remained numb for months. I still can’t chew crunchy things with the crown they installed. Do yourself a big favor and don’t go here.
EDIT: Responding to their response to my review below, I don’t have any friends that have had services here, so I don’t know what they’re talking about. I’m writing my review years later because last night I was searching for a dentist online and that reminded me that I should post a review about this place. And, no, I’d never come back after all the pain I endured. I’d rather have someone else fix it. Honestly I still cringe when I think about the pain. I didn’t file a credit card dispute because I refused to sign the credit card slip they handed me, which they ran for twice the amount they said they would. I made them cancel it and re-​run it on the spot. Take a look at some of the other reviews on here. Mine is not the only one that mentions them handing a patient a credit card slip while they’re still in the chair.

Service is horrible
I went on my lunch break to get a filling done and I sat in the waiting room for almost 2 hours and it didn’t even seem busy. So I canceled my appointment a long with all future appointments and these scammers continued to charge my credit card $ 100 a month even though they never did any work on me. I have left several messages for the office manager to call me back so we can get this fixed and they never call back
Not only that, but they worked on my friend and they drilled into the wrong tooth causing nerve damage to a perfectly healthy tooth. They took no responsibility

Have always had a great experience with everyone at Dr. Zak’s office. I’ve never had a long wait before an appointment and the hygienist Patricia takes her time and does a great job cleaning and polishing.

I haven’t been to dentist in a while and was recommended to sea breeze dental by a friend. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Also was a little nervous but was reassured by Dr. Kopel, sharing of information and awesome care.

In this office the dentists only concern is making money. They made fraudulent claims during my two biannual visits. The first time the dentist told me that I had a completely cracked molar in the back of my mouth, and that I would need a root canal — not true. The second time I was told that I have been grinding my teeth for some time — also not true, and needed to buy a full mouth guard kit from them. I then received an non-​itemized bill stating that I owed them additional monies, although my insurance pays for 100% of costs. When I told them that my insurance pays 100%, and I would take this up with my insurance, the back office lady said she would look into this with their head billing person and get back to me shortly. I never heard from her again. Also, my child had a serious condition that needed to be addressed by their Oral Surgeon. Not only did we have to wait four months before my child could get an exam with the dentist, but for four more months the office proved completely unreliable in getting the authorization in order to be treated by their Oral Surgeon. With my child still dealing with the serious condition, we are moving onto an ethical, reliable, dependable and honest dental clinic, and will not be returning to this one.

Sea Breeze Dental is my go-​to spot for dental work. Thanks Dr. Zak & Co. You guys always take good care of me!

I hate going to the dentist but this place is great, from the front desk to the doctors, instant friendliness and consideration. I get nervous and ask lots of questions and the dr answered all if them with infinite patience, which if you are a nervous nelly like me is so important. Feeling grateful.

50+ Minute wait in the lobby; showed up 20 minutes early for paperwork because it was my first visit as a patient.
I was given the «varnish» on my teeth after the cleaning and then they tried to charge me for it after I wasn’t given any disclosure or even the option to opt out of the procedure. After bringing this up with the receptionist they waived the fees. But they would have overcharged me if I didn’t say anything.
Not to mention you don’t actually «see» anything you sign; there’s just a disconnected signature pad and the receptionist tells you orally what you’re signing. Not a very transparent experience.
Also, I was supposed to receive a call later that day about what my insurance actually covered because they hadn’t received the list of benefits yet. It’s been 3 – 4 days; still no call back.
Even if I do get a call back I’m hesitant to go back; I don’t want to get ripped off again.

I went to Sea Breeze Dental in a jam. I was in the area for the week and my dentist was booked solid. I also had not seen a dentist for a while. I waited a while before I was ushered into the exam room. I took about 14 X-​rays which was fine. Then I was ushered into another room where I was introduced to the dentist. I saw the dentist for only five minutes which to me is weird. My original dentist spends more time with his patients. He looked at the x-​rays and started saying numbers. Turns out I have three cavities and they need to be filled immediately.
I asked how much and they quoted me at $ 1,700! No thank you! I will not return here and I will wait to see the dentist I’ve been going to for the past 16 years.
And the dental hygienist cleans your teeth. I spent more time with the x-​ray tech and the hygienist than which the actual dentist! WTF!

I have found a dentist to do my dental work for much less!

I’ve been coming here for two years. The reason I came here the first time was due to horrible tooth pain and it turned out I needed a root canal. They were able to take care of me and I have been coming ever since. Everyone who works here is friendly and nice. The dentists are gentle but firm. I like coming here.

I took the time to read all of the negative reviews to understand why the rating was only three stars. I’ve been a patient for 5+ years with no issues to speak of. Half of the negative reviews focused around wait times and the process of check in, x-​ray, exam & consultation prior to being admitted for treatment. The dental profession suffers from a lack of transparency where most of the time the patients don’t understand what is going on. I have been a victim in the past of drill happy dentistry. With Sea Breeze advanced digital x-​rays and imaging technology, when there is an issue which requires treatment they take the time to photograph the area in question showing you the damage against what a healthy tissue/​teeth should look like. This process takes time and if there was any way for them to speed up this process in order to see more patients than it would only benefit them financially to make all processes quicker. I truly believe the process they have in place is the optimal one to find the work that needs to be done and advise appropriately. If you are in a rush to get dental work this is not a jiffy lube, time and attention is require in order to provide excellence in service.
In regards to the second issue receiving all of the negative reviews which is the cost of their services. Frankly, no dental work is cheap. You get what you pay for and with insurance coverage ranging so wildly its difficult to compare apples to apples. From my perspective, Sea Breeze is not the cheapest (nor should they be) or the most expensive. They offer a competitive rate for solid dental care. I trust their work and consultation, there is no price you can place on peace of mind.
Lastly, the staff had some negative reviews. I can’t see why… Everyone has been nothing been cordial throughout my visits. It’s not their jobs to be your friends, if they are that is a bonus. They are professional, polite & attentive. Yekta, who works as a dental aid during more of the serious procedures has been nothing short of exceptional in her position. She is a gift to the organization and a focal point to their success. If Sea Breeze was a family, Yekta would be the mother and it shows.
Don’t pay any weight to the negative reviews, unrealistic expectations breed discontent. This is an excellent place to invest in your future dental care.

Sea Breeze dental in AGoura hills treated my family and I and Dr Kopel was extremely thorough with all of our exams and explanation of recommended treatment for all 4 of us was completely explained on what out out of pocket expense would be, and some of the family was not covered under our insurance so we were offered a plan through the office CDN and OMG what a gift! We waited so long to go thinking we couldn’t afford to take care or out teeth And now we know we can! Great Financial arrangements are offered ! So happy thank you Rosemarie, Christine, Julia grace and Yekta for making me and my family comfortable !

Came in for a consult and walked out with not one, but three different options on fixing my teeth. Dr. Sadaat was very helpful and informative. He gave me all the info I needed to decide on a plan to fix my gaps in my teeth. My sister has started her braces plan here and everything is running smoothly as well, would strongly recommend to anyone. Everyone here is friendly and kind.

I have twins girls 5 years — and for a week I’m preparing them for the dental exam, but as soon we got in there was «bob sponge» on the TV, they start to laugh and like the place (that a good start)!!!

I have had a great experience during each visit at Sea Breeze Dental. I have had extensive work done on my teeth, with relatively little to no pain. The results have been successful and my smile is looking good. I don’t dread going to the dentist anymore. Everyone I have spoken to has been helpful. I’m usually helped by a lady named Denisse who has been very friendly and always answers all my questions.

I had my first office visit with this dental group on Friday and was pleasantly surprised. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. I was able to complete all the initial paperwork online prior to my visit which made the experience that much more pleasant with hardly any wait time. The dentist I saw was Dr. Kopel whom I found to have a wonderful «chairside» manner. He was very attentive and answered any and all conceivable questions I may have had. I was also surprised that on my first visit they were able to fit me in for my general cleaning on the same day! I also watched how they dealt with their regular clients, and it appeared like their clients are treated like family. I would not hesitate recommending this dental practice to other family and friends.

By far the WORST dental experiences I’ve EVER had!
I had 2 cleaning and several cavities fill with this dental office. The staff’s rude careless attitude matches their rough painful treatments.
On one particular cleaning my teeth were left with patches uncleaned and when I informed the dental hygienist and literally begged her to fix it she blankly stared at me and blatantly responded «well…there is no more time.» And refused to fix her awful work without so much as an I’m sorry!
All around miserable practice, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
