I have used Stuart Rose for twenty years and each appointment has been speedy and professional. I will continue to be a satisfied customer!!!

The good:
Stuart Rose plans to clean my driveway.
I was able to keep a few pieces of my old ducting to duct a bathroom fan that I installed.
They gave me a hand for 10 minutes while I installed a solatube.
They worked with me to put my air filters at the return air grills. There are 3 advantages to this:
1 — It is easy to replace the filters from inside the house.
2 — It keeps the ducts going to the furnace clean.
3 — Because I have 2 returns, my filter area was doubled.
The problems:
Problems during my 8 day (10 days including the weekend) installation of heating and air by Stuart Rose:
I told Stuart Rose a specific location that I wanted the furnace in the attic. They came in and started the install in the wrong location. They did not walk me through the install at all. They simply hung the first piece in the attic. When I brought it up towards the end of the second day, they wanted about $ 2000 to move it. I chose not to pay the $ 2000.
Though I chose thermostats for a 3 zone system, they were installing only 1 thermostat and 2 temperature sensors. When I complained, Stuart Rose installed the correct thermostats at no additional charge.
Their truck leaked oil on my driveway. Now I have a long term reminder of Stuart Rose in front of my house.
I picked up cigarette butts, screws, and pieces of metal from my lawn, house, and driveway.
Problems I noticed just after the installation:
Stuart Rose demanded full payment the minute that cold air was flowing from my system. I paid, then I noticed additional problems.
Water was leaking from the condensation line. They fixed this by putting a bit of PVC cement on the outside of the PVC joint. This might work, but it might not be as good as removing the problem union and making a new connection.
Cold air was leaking from the unit in several places. This includes where one box meets the next and holes on the side of the unit that were never taped over.
Problems that I noticed 2 days after the installation:
Though I have a large gas pipe right next to my furnace, Stuart Rose chose to add a reducing coupling, about 40 feet of ½ inch pipe, several elbows, and unions to the line that went to my previous furnace. The total length of pipe is now over 80 feet. Piped this way, I don’t think my furnace will be able to put out 80,000 BTU.
Though they added this pipe and fittings, they did not pressure test my gas line.
They left the electrical out of code, due to busting out drywall just above the panel and not covering it. They left this a mess, with pieces of drywall and dust on the floor and in the wall above the panel. I cleaned this up. I will patch the drywall myself.
I ended up cleaning up much of the crumbling pieces of plastic from the previous systems insulation. The pieces that they did clean up were not taken to the garbage. Instead, they were stuffed under the pink insulation in the attic.
They did not attach a drain to the pan. So if the pan fills, it may overflow.
There is at least one very tight bend in their ducting. Is this OK?

I have owned my own company since 1993. I have employed hundreds of people of that course of time. My company has won the Bank of America/​Los Angeles Times Small Business of the Year here in Los Angeles. I have been a 5 time recipient of the Vendor of the Year award as the Top performer within my industry 5 times in a row by the nation’s second largest retailer within my industry. So I hope that my review holds some merit. I take reviewing another person’s business VERY SERIOUSLY. With that said, in MY Opinion. Stuart Rose Heating and Air is a Disgrace of a Company. I have a 30,000 square foot facility, who’s AC routinely has been serviced by them. I also have a home nearby that gets serviced by them as well. I have been extremely patient with them as there are some people you just need to get along with. Doctors, Table servers, and AC Repair People. So I know the drill. Kill em’ with Kindness. Last summer I was told that ducts that I have had in my ceiling were about to cause a Fire, and that Immediately had to re-​duct the Attic… Which cost several thousand dollars to do… Then I was told a Compressor went Bad and another several thousand dollars went to that. A few weeks ago, the AC went off in my house… Of course when it was 105 degrees out… I was forced to go a Friday, Saturday and Sunday with NO AC… I have 5 dogs 4 People and I’m Asthmatic. I explained to them, but was forced to wait. I get a technician WHO WAS NOT THE TECHNICIAN THAT INSTALLED THE UNIT A YEAR AGO… and he did a repair that did not work… So, I called and requested they come again and fix it, but I insisted that this time they send the technician that installed the Unit a year ago. Well, for him, I had to wait 4 more days till Thursday! That’s a WEEK in the HOTTEST Days of the Year… So…I waited… Then the guy comes in… PISSED OFF! LOUD and Foul-​Mouthed how hard it was for him to drive ALLL The way form wherever… He then goes on to tell me I need ANOTHER $ 650 Unit to prevent Freezing and $ 350 for the Labor… I was NOT HAPPY… I was Like NO WAY… ENOUGH…You guys are ridiculous… So…I called The Office… I was given attitude and Hangups… Then TOM… The Manger gets on the phone… Tom Says…“We don’t want to do business with you anymore!”…I ask to speak with Stuart Rose… They ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO LET ME SPEAK WITH THE OWNER… TOM, is the Manager and speaks for the owner… in my opinion… Tom is a Putz… Stand Clear… Go Elsewhere… Bad News… ZERO RATING… but Unilocal FORCES you to give a Star!

We are regular customers for many years and we experienced AMAZING service from Stuart Rose Heating & Air Conditioning this past week during our heatwave. I wish to thank HILLARY, who is the friendly and helpful voice when you call them, and SERGE, a very knowledgeable and attentive service technician.
Our air conditioner just stopped in the middle of the day during our recent heatwave. Temperatures outside were into triple digits… and inside it was even hotter!
I called Stuart Rose and spoke with HILLARY. Her words were sweet: «We have a service technician finishing a job nearby and he will be there within 30 minutes.»
SERGE arrived quickly and methodically diagnosed our problem. We were turned on within minutes of his arrival.
What extraordinary service! Thank you, Stuart Rose’s HILLARY and SERGE, for caring about your customers!

I have been using this company for all my heating & AC needs (maintenance, installation, etc.) for over 25 years at several different homes. They are fair, efficient, prompt and do a great job. I just had them replace my AC unit and zone my home into upstairs and downstairs. Their price was lower than the other two companies that I had bid the work, and Stuart Rose completed the work as promised and on time. When I called to get some of the ducting adjusted so it was blowing in certain areas in a certain way, they were out the next day and did the extra (unexpected) work with no up-​charges. Bo (the owner) is very accommodating and spent a ton of time with me on the telephone before I decided on my system. He explained all of the options that were possible and helped me to decide what would be best for me. He didn’t just try to sell me the most expensive system with all of the bells and whistles… he thoughtfully considered my individual home and needs and recommended accordingly. I cannot recommend this company highly enough for their classy professionalism, excellent work and great customer service!!!

I truly recommend this company. They came to my home when my air conditioner went out and could have charged me anything (it was over 100 degrees that day) but only charged me a service call to change a fuse. Then my husband had them install an entire A/​C system at our business… and the work was good, on-​time and fairly priced. A good, old-​fashioned local company that I know I can trust.

It’s been months now that AZ fixed what essentially was a brand new, top of the line Lennox air conditioning that Stuart Rose never installed right in the first place (AND they came out and insisted it was working fine when in fact is obvously wasn’t!)
So I kinda soft-​peddled my displeasure with them. They SUCK. Two years I had to live with a sub-​part BRAND NEW air conditioner — which if they knew what they were doing — would have had working correctly in the first place.
Nice to have a new air conditioning system that actually works! Something you might not get with Stuart Rose.

I give it it 2 star because Stuart Rose won’t tell you that their service fee of diagnosing the problem will not be applied toward the repair of it. Stuart Rose installed my system and maintained it. Their technicians are nice (Houston and Serge.)When I asked about it (after being a loyal customer for over 7 years,) the manager Tom was defensive and rude, and told me that «he so disagreed with me» when I suggested that customers be made aware of this. Needless to say, I will no longer use Stuart Rose, and use AZ Air, the company that Costco uses to install its Lennox air conditioners. AZ came out to give me an estimate on a second AC unit, and ending up servicing my AC/​Heating unit and was cheaper and friendlier. Sometimes we get stuck with what’s familiar, and we don’t realize what better opportunities are out there until we have a bad experience. Thanks Stuart Rose for the bad experience. As a result, I know there is better service and prices out there– AZ Heating and Air.

except for the sitting around waiting for them… they are great. i got the usual 4 hour window of time… i hate that. had problems with the furnace. guy came and fixed it in no time. honest and fair priced. turned out it was nothing big, thank goodness.

Stuart Rose has done work on two homes and are exceptional. They are absolutely fantastic. Full redo on heating system, venting and air filtration system went wonderfully. We do our regular maintenance with them and it is always a pleasure. I will not use anyone else.
