Bobbi & Guy Pearlridge

The receptionist was able to schedule me a same day appt. The staff was friendly and the place seemed nice. I was seen right away because they were not busy and no one else was getting a haircut. My stylist was Cindy, she was nice. I told her the same I’ve told all my other stylist. I wanted my hair cut and layered. I also told her I needed to be able to pull up my hair in a bun for work. I’ve never had a stylist start a haircut by taking my hair and just cutting it off (like taking a ponytail and cutting it off). She cut about 6 inches from the start without washing it first. I was skeptical and stunned but I figured she knew what she was doing. By the end of my cut, my hair looked bulkier than I wanted and not layered at all but I needed to get home. It wasn’t until I pulled my hair up that I got really upset. I could barely pull it up in a bun for work because she had cut so much off and it looked horrible. Then I realized my hair was bulky looking because she did my layers backwards and I have no idea how. My hair pulled up looked a mess and was difficult to fix. All in all, the staff was friendly, the music was nice, but I won’t return. I was very unhappy with my cut.

The stylist I had was Kristen. This was my first time here. I was seen right away, they were not busy. First, the salon itself seemed clean. The shampoo area is small. The receptionist is very nice. Kristen was also nice. I told her what i wanted and ended up mostly satisfied. I wanted my hair a bit longer but overall I like the cut. She didn’t show me the back at the end so I couldn’t really judge how the layers looked. One of the reasons I took a star off is because of the price. I got a haircut for $ 61. That is way too much for the type of service I got. There wasn’t really anything special about it to make $ 61 valid. I’ve gone to upscale salons before where the treatment is much more grand and worth the price. This is not. Not sure I will be back. My experience here was just so so.

Went in for a Brazilian Blowout. Kristen did an AMAZING job on my hair! She also suggested to blend my layers that I currently had and I’m so glad that I let her work her magic because the outcome was great! Will be going there regularly for maintenence! Thank you Kristen!

Nice staff. Appointment was pushed one hour back because my stylist was busy. Went in for coloring. Not bad. Kinda expensive.

Waited about an hour for a hair cut. But the stylist wasn’t there. Uhhhhh ~ the NICEST THING THEY could’ve DONE WAS told me 30 min ago! Sorry NOT SORRY, YALL have like 50 chairs BUT 3 stylist. Like wtf is that!

I went this place today. Chantillie did an awesome job. She did a Brazilian blow out and color my hair. I love my hair now :)

A woman’s worst nightmare sitting in a chair while you watch your hair fall out because the stylist left the color in your hair too long. I can’t even explain the emotions I felt while sitting in the chair for 3 hours. At least 5 inches of my hair was chemically damaged and fell off. All I wanted was my hair to be toned. I’ve never thought this could happen to anyone. I thought wrong. I walked in there expecting for my service to be about an hour. But took 3 hours plus my long hair all gone. The stylist name is Victoria. As she’s washing my hair how couldn’t she see that my hair was chemically damaged? After she took me out of the shampoo bowl and to the chair, all I could see was my hair falling out. She didn’t say one word. I just sat there. What else could I do? The damage was done.

Had my awesome edgy short haircut and style by Augusto and boy is he excellent. Im totally coming back and recommend him to all my family and friends. He is da bomb.
UPDATE, AUGUSTO HAS MOVED TO THE WARD WAREHOUSE LOCATION OF BOBBI AND GUY. HE IS THE BESTEST!

I wish there was a way to give no stars. I had a gift certificate and they made me feel like I was using a coupon or trying to scam them from something. Although I was pleased with my service from the stylist, the big lady behind the counter ruined the experience. Do NOT recommend this place at all.

Giving this one star, because I made an appt they were able to get me in last minute but my stylist assured me we could get rid of my ombré paid over 200. I left with an ombré still just darker. I called to reschedule to see if she could fix it like she was supposed to the first time. She still charged me 30 $ which is ok, but I asked for price of a trim, she gave me a quick 5 trim and charged me almost 40 more, I left with dark in the middle lighter on top and bottom. I didn’t bother to complain again. It was a hassle to even get her to fix it the first time.

I previously wrote a review because of a bad experience at the Kapolei location. I spoke with the manager (who is located at the Pearlridge location) and she offered to have another stylist fix my hair. I spoke with the stylist (Kristen) and I felt confident that she could fix my hair.
I’m happy to say that I LOVE my haircut!
Thank you Kristen :) and thank you to the manager who listened to my complaint and found a solution to an unpleasant experience at the other location.
If you’re looking for a new stylist I highly recommend Kristen at the Pearlridge location!

Just got my haircut by Julie for the second time and It turned out great like the first time. I always come to this salon because it’s convenient for me so I’ve had other stylist do my hair before but my review is mainly for Julie. I just like the way she cut my hair, it blends well specially the ends. I find my hair much more easy to style and usually I get a haircut every 4 months because it starts getting out of control but since my first visit with her, I notice my hair was growing out nicely.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. At first I thought Kristen was going to be great. And she was at cutting my hair. But not coloring it. I wanted to go pretty blonde and she got no where near what I wanted. When I went back a couple days later for her to fix it, she wouldn’t!!! Thought there was a 7 day grace period??? Yeah I urged with the owner for an hour. But at the end he still didn’t fix the problem. AND Kristen LIED to her boss. She told him that she showed me the hair samples and showed me what color my hair would turn out to be. SHE NEVER SHOWED ME. I was shocked and very disappointed that she lied about that. I will NEVER go back. Never. Ever. Don’t go here!!!

Review based on shopping for beauty tools and products (have not received services or spa treatments at this location).
Excellent customer service from receptionist and cosmetics saleswoman. However, the company’s restrictive return policy and limited beauty tool and product offerings drove me batty.
I was a long time customer of the Salon Bobbi and Guy Ward Warehouse location both for products and services. Unfortunately, the Ward Warehouse beauty supply shop closed, so customers must either go to the Pearlridge or Kapolei locations in order to pick up products which were previously available in town.
Years ago, I picked up a FHI Nanopro hairdryer from Salon Bobbi and Guy’s Ward Warehouse location. The hair dryer was the exact model recommended by my current stylist, so I was happy to be able to find what I was looking for on island for a low price (20% off during the holidays).
I visited the Pearlridge location with the intent of purchasing the same hair dryer for a few people. Since I purchased the product from Salon Bobbi and Guy originally, I was hoping to find the product at another one of their locations. However, I learned there is only one model being offered currently and the salon no longer carries FHI. The receptionist thought on her feet and offered to ask the manager to special order the product, then contact me once it is available in store.
Ultimately, the salon was not able to order the FHI hairdryer and I was stuck with $ 100+ in store credit, which is not applicable to salon services; only products at the Pearlridge and Kapolei locations. The return policy is so restrictive considering the limited offerings of salon products which are available at general beauty supply shops and even Longs for cheaper.
In the end, the receptionist and cosmetics saleswoman persuaded me to try a few new things. I went home with a Glam Glow face mask ($ 68 vs my usual mask which costs $ 6 – 15) and pet shampoo products. The excellent customer service is the silver lining to this experience and I do want to reiterate that I went home with a few fun things to try at the end of the day.

So out of the blue I decided that I needed a haircut. So I was Unilocaling places and decided to checkout bobby and guy. I’m so happy that I chose to come bobby and guy to see Chantellie. She was super nice and friendly. I like how she talks while she cuts because it doesn’t make things awkward. I asked her a lot of questions about my hair and she knew every product that was perfect to use because my hair is on the more damage side. I am so happy because I finally found a new place close to home to cut hair. Chantellie is a very good stylist and I recommended her to anyone looking for a haircut. The hair cut was a bit pricey but it’s so worth it at the end. You pay for what you get. I will definitely be coming here from now on to get my haircut and other services that I would need later in the future.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to haircuts. I’ve got long, thick hair and most stylists don’t know how to cut long hair. But my hair was getting TOO long. Needed a good cut. But where to go? Took a chance and tried B and G today. Wow! I forgot my hair could ever look like this. It’s been years since I had this great of a cut.
I didn’t have a stylist in mind since I’d never been there, so I went in blind. Chantelle greeted me and I told her what I needed. She got right to work. She’s very detail-​focused and gave me a fabulous cut. Seriously: haven’t had a cut this great in years! She didn’t even complain when I asked her to take off another inch after she’d cut the length. Exceptional stylist. I’ve found my stylist while we live here, and I’ll be taking my daughter to her as well.
This place is a bit hard to get to. You have to park at Ross and walk through, which is a pain (parking is rough). Totally worth it though!!! Great job, B and G! I’ll be back!

After years of terrible haircuts… I am always very hesitant to get my hair cut. I have long hair and I don’t style it either (unless a ponytail counts). Anyways, out of the blue I decided that I needed a haircut because it was getting to long and it is way too hot lately. I looked on Unilocal for someplace close to my house with an opening this morning (my window for going was very small and I didn’t want to drive to Manoa where I’ve gone for the last two haircuts).
I called Bobbi & Guy Pearlridge and the receptionist told me they had openings. I’ve walked past the salon many times when stopping at Pearlridge but never have gone in. At first look, it looks like a slightly better super cuts. Lots of chairs and a waiting area for about 6 or so people. With the price I was paying for a haircut, I expected a little more in appearance (½ star deduction). The receptionist also wasn’t very friendly. She didn’t smile and seemed distracted when there was only two stylists in the salon and me (hence the other ½ star deduction).
My hair stylist was Young. She was friendly and didn’t talk much (maybe she read me… I don’t really like talking when getting my hair cut). She did ask what I wanted and how short and understood my concerns (my hair tends to curl up after getting cut). As she cut she did check to see if I was happy with the length and even asked about how I usually style my hair and gave suggestions about other things I could do. I liked that since I was cutting off 6+ inches and maybe a change would be good. She even took into consideration that I only own a brush, comb, and a hair dryer that is still in its plastic wrapping.
Overall, I was very pleased with my hair cut. I do think they are slightly pricey for the services they offer at $ 52 hair cut but it was a fair price.

I was looking for a salon that did ebony hair. Which did not realize it was so hard to find in Hawaii. On my tenth try I found Valerie at this salon. She is excellent and for as long as I am here she will be the oh one to touch my hair. I got a whole new hair color and highlights that I love and has boost my confidence! Not only that she talked to me about what would be right and healthy for my hair. Most important she herself looked great, the salon is nice and she knew what she was doing. It is worth the price. Thanks Valerie!!!;)

Pro:
I had a hair cut today and the one who cut my hair named chantillie, she listens to your preferred cut and you can show pictures of hair style you want if you have. I love my hair cut, shes awesome, she let you know some of their promotions and open to suggestions.
Also, cool thing a complimentary conditioning treatment for you if you leave a review on Unilocal too.
Cons:

I had one of those «my hair looks like crap and i want a new do TODAY» days. I think girls are guilty of having these days often. I had never been to Salon Bobbi and Guy and to be honest I only decided to come here because my regular stylist was booked. I called around 1p and was able to get an appointment around 545x
As soon as I met my stylist, Kristen, I knew I’d like her. She was young, stylish, and had a super cute hair color/​style. (Thats always a good sign — you dont want your stylists hair looking like crap because thats a sure sign yours will look like crap too.)
I told her I wanted blond (er) highlights. Not chunky, natural looking and wanted my base color to be caramel-​ish. She pulled the color book, we chatted for a bit, and then agreed on a color and price. She suggested just a partial highlight when I wanted a full which actually saved me money and it looks the same!
Anyway, she highlighted, colored, shampooed, and then put some toner in. For some reason (no fault of her own) the toner she used started burning my head and as soon as i mentioned it she was really quick to get it off. She didnt seem mad about wasting the toner which Ive experienced with some bitchy stylists before.
Fast-​forward to the end result. It looks amazing! Its exactly what I wanted and she blow-​dried and styled my hair perfectly. Shes an amazing colorist and I fully recommend her.
Although Im loyal to my current stylist, I know Ill be back to see Kristen in the future!
