Scare Hawaii

Went to their haunted house at the old Sizzler’s at Pearl Ridge. Had a Groupon so we paid we reasonable rate. The wait was kind of long. They don’t let many people in at the same time. It was worth it. There were lots of good effects and we got our thrills.

So we got there at 715. according to the Website doors open at 7. Characters dressed up walked around hyping up the crowd. Clowns appeared on the 2^nd floor. scary! Then later came downstairs in an unmarked car. Double scary. Lol finally getting to the front of the line a little after 8:15 totally amount of people in front were like 15 or so. Waiting in line sucked. Went on a Thursday. Won tickets on the radio. Sucked to find out that I could only use them Monday thru Thursday only… getting back to the actual haunted house. Scary screaming tripping that’s pretty much what I remember lol.

The location is the old Sizzler by Pearlridge. There were 6 of us in our group of friends who lined up for the anticipated Haunted House. It’s $ 15 a person or $ 25 if you want the fast past meaning you’d surpass all those waiting in line. They accept cash or credit card. I believe there’s groupons too if you happen to stumble upon one.
We got there around 9pm and the line was getting pretty long. But as we were waiting in line it seemed to have gone fairly quickly as it may seemed that the whole haunted maze was a short one. However, there was a period where we weren’t moving for a good 30 minutes or so. Apparently there was a «break» before they regrouped and started taking people in. That’s probably the thing I disliked about it as we didn’t know what was going on leaving people restless in line.
While we waited, there was a clown going around with a chainsaw and a costumed mask person trying to hype people up in an attempt to give a sense of fear while we waited anxiously to get it. When they finally were starting to let groups in, the line started to go in slowly and soon enough we were at the head of the entrance waiting to get in as we already hear screams from the previous groups who just went in.
The whole whole haunted house maze took us about 5 minutes or so to get around. It really all depends on how fast you were walking through. Sometimes I didn’t know if they were props or real people waiting to scare us. Gave us a good startle whenever we’d turn the corner. Since I was in the middle, my friends in the front got the first scares so which left me laughing at how funny it was to be scared.
All in all, it was good entertainment for me. I laughed more than I screamed but couple of my friends were the opposite. The special effects in there gave a good scare as well as the actors who played their roles. Not the scariest, but we all had fun and wanted to do something a little daring on Hollows Eve. Went with a few of my friends, gotta say for limited amount of space they did really well. The actors were great, didn’t have to even wait in line because we went on a weekday so that was awesome. Super fun, and nice set up and rooms, I already hate clowns so this was pretty scary to me. But all in all good fun!

I purchase my tickets with groupon not sure the actually price. anyways I got a good deal. It was my first time going to a hunted house in Hawaii. The cashier (guy) doing customer service was customer friendly. We got there it was 830pm the line was super long. However The wait time was not long. There’s a clowns running around the parking lot with chain saws. They come out of no where. It startle me. I went with my friend, and husband to the hunted house .The gentlemen letting people inside the hunted house is very friendly. I asked him to take pictures of the three us. No issue, he also kept our group together. Which was great. !!From what notice he try to keep people with their group. The place is scary. The side effects, the actors, I scream my life out. Personally the lighting is perfect not to dark. They also have stroke lights .My throat hurt for 3 days from all the screaming. My friend holding me so tight. They have a gorilla that scare the hell out me, bodies, there’s clowns etc ‚. There girl that. Looks like the girl from the ri g it scare the shit out of my husband. We all got a great scare :) check it out.

Great fun!!! Had the best time last night. If you want to get scared be the first in line in your group. My butthole friends full on left me, and the actors and scares got me sweaty and shaking. Great job to both actors and designers.

soooooo scary, i don’t like clowns and they did a great job with stage and limited access to the path where you can’t even run away. it was scary and they did a good job in small space. i went on the weekday so wait wasn’t long. i like how they only bring a group at a time so you won’t be with people who didn’t come with you. very personal.

I was invited to attend the Scare Hawaii Haunted House in Aiea. The couple who invited me got a deal through Groupon. I ended up paying $ 15.00 entry fee for the haunted house.
I think we stood in line for a good half hour before entering the haunted house. Individuals were able to take a photo with a fake killer clown at the photo booth before entering. I believe we entered the old restaurant a little after 8pm.
Once we entered the premises we were instructed to line up against a wall and listen to the rules while watching a mask explain the rules. One of the rules that I managed to listen to was DO NOT GET SEPARATED FROM YOUR GROUP.
With the rules for the event done it was time to walk our way through the haunted house. My lady friend led the way through the haunted house while her husband was in the middle and I was the last one to follow. We went through so many zigs and zags of the premises at one point we had to walk through a pitch black hallway and I ended up grabbing hold of the husband’s shoulders so I won’t be left behind.
The costumes of the actors was kind of scary yet not really scary. Most of the actors were either wearing masks or had fake blood covered in parts of the face. Every time the person in the gorilla costume approached me… I said «Hi handsome» or «Hi gorgeous.» There was one actor with a mask on that said «You’re never leaving this place. I’m never going to let you go.» Just by the sound of his voice I wanted to say «Did anybody ever tell you that you have a sexy voice?» instead I just said «Sorry but I’m with the couple ahead of me.»
There was one room where we arrived and the actress in white was kneeling beside the bed with a dead figure on top of the bed. My lady friend said «Looks like he just had an orgasm.» The actress started to laugh out loud at that comment. I wonder if the actress stopped the laughing when the next group of people showed up?
I think the only two times that I really jumped was when we were approaching the exit of the haunted house. The first one was from a lady in black and she came out of nowhere from near the floor. The second time was when a guy came from behind me and pretty much screamed a sentence in my right ear.
The Scare Hawaii Haunted House is a good way for first timers like myself to enjoy the creativity of the performing arts and admire all the Halloween props. I’d recommend the Circus of the Dead haunted house to individuals who love Halloween.

Not worth the money or the wait. It took an hour for us to get in and we were right next to the entrance. It wasn’t as scary as I thought it was gonna be. It was entertaining, but I was expecting something scarier.

Fun haunted house but not scary…
Located at the old sizzlers at pearlridge… We got there around 1015 on friday oct 16… there was no line and no eerie music… i thought we were at the wrong place… they were on their break and all but one of the crew members were acting out of character. It seemed unprofessional to see the monsters/​clowns without masks and lined up at the portapotty. It was still fun but not thrilling.
Funny to see all the tables and booths within the attraction…
I wasn’t too impressed but that’s just me… If all the characters stayed in character from start to finish this would have been a better haunted house.
On another hand… The group I was with was pretty scared… To each their own

Perfectly scary for the whole family. My kids are thoroughly frightened. Enjoyed the makeup and costumes. I recommend the fast pass.

Scare Hawaii (2015) was the first haunted-​house type attraction I’ve ever been to. It wasn’t that scary. And if you go early, specifically the first hour, you can get free prizes and a discount towards your ticket.
Hours are 7pm — 12am.
I didn’t know what to expect. But it was pretty scary.
I didn’t think I was going to be that scared. But I lost my breath from screaming, and it gave me a headache from how much I was screaming.
I got hot and sweaty. It was scary. If you have anxiety, be careful. They scare you good. Perfect timing. Unexpected. Special effects were really good. Sometimes I didn’t know if the props were the people so I guess that’s why I was screaming scared the whole time lol I recommend this place for all ages. Well maybe not 8 and under. lol

Best haunted house yet. I almost pissed myself. It was super scary. From the music to the horrifying monsters around every corner. definitely worth every penny. Where going back a second time next week.

Had a blast at the ‘Circus of the Dead’ haunted house. Love the unexpected and that we (my husband and I) were able to go through the attraction without being rushed. The numerous rooms/​scenes were interesting and plentiful. Definitely recommend this venue to others!

For advanced horror aficionados, it’s worth the test run. It’s a chain of heavily themed rooms we walk thru: butchery, clown room, nursery, cloister phobic, etc. The dolls are pretty graphic so I recommend you warn your children. The actors wait until the perfect moment to scare and psychologically break you. It’s intense!

I am a haunted house enthusiast who loves Halloween more then Christmas so I’ve visited my fair share of Haunted Houses thru the years. Scare Hawaii’s Circus of the Dead is refreshing and anything but predictable. Their props and story lines are well thought out and well placed. From the eerie Circus music, to the live harlequin performer near the ticket booth. They are able to really build up the fear of «whats waiting around the corner» and climax at the right moment.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well they were able to scare us. When I left my heart was racing. I don’t remember that last time I screamed that much and that loud. The scares were timed so perfectly that I imagined I must’ve looked like someone trying to smash a million ants with my feet. We will definitely be back with our friends and family.

This was a well done haunted house! I read reviews and was questioning whether to bring keiki who are 8 and 11… we are glad we brought them because they had a great time!!! The line was about an hour and a half wait but the characters from the haunted house were coming out through the waiting line and scaring people and making the wait less painful lol…
The kids did great and the make up and special fx were on point throughout the HH. It was about a 10 minute walk through and the characters in the show would eerily guide and help you walk through the house.
There was even candy being passed out to us in the line!!!
All in all… if you missed the Living Social/​Groupon discount don’t worry… you won’t regret paying the $ 15 dollar entry fee for Dr. Carnages House of Horrors!!!

OMG! Haunted houses don’t scare me but this one made me pee my pants!!! LOL Yes, I was that scared!!! The characters follow you into the next room, they were literally breathing down the back of my neck!!! I had asked the man taking the tickets how long the house takes to walk thru and he said about 4 – 5 minutes; well that was the longest 5 minutes of my life!!!
We had a groupon deal, but I would have paid full price for this because it was that good!!!
I told the husband that I hope we have time to go again because it was that good!!!
Personally, I would not take little kids into the house; they will be soooo terrified!!!

This haunted house was pretty epic!
As the name «The Evolution of Fear» implies, the farther you travel into this haunted house the better the scares get!
I went on a Sunday, and there was NO line! The dates and times vary and as Halloween approaches they are open more. I believe, up until October 23 they are only open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Though their opening hours vary depending on the day, they always close at the same time as the mall.
The props are very well done, and the maze is set up as to be advantageous to the characters in charge of scaring you. I’ve been to many Haunted Houses and the scares are REALLY unexpected (which is what made this experience super awesome).
Note: When we were entering there was a family coming out, BOTH their daughters (they looked about 8 &11) were crying because they got so scared! I love Haunted Houses that make kids that age cry; that’s how you know it’s gonna be epic!
