The owner and management company of this property should be embarrassed. Whomever does the marketing for the property does a great job. However, when arriving at the property you realize its poorly maintained just on the initial drive in. The panels that cover the electric meters were ripping off. No not weathered off but literally someone ripped them apart. There was little to no signage for the leasing office as it took me nearly fifteen minutes just to find it. It is located down a one lane drive in and out. However, the drive has no signs indicating which way is the correct direction to go. When I finally arrived at the office the Admin Assistant was talking with another perspective resident. I thought that resident had brought her kids and her kids were running the office. More on that later So the AA took me to see the apartment. which was extremely dated. Carpet probably at least ten years old. On my way to the unit and walking to the office since I had to park in another lot I saw screen door window glass missing. Signs that said no trespassing as well as a hand made sign on someone’s door that said no weapons. Sure that makes someone feel safe. The Unit itself was unimpressive. Fridge and stove were actually totally blocking the water heater closet. On the walk back to the leasing office with the AA. The postal worker asked if the cat, which was following him around belonged to someone in the complex. It was clear the cat was a pet as it was collared. The AA said yes and asked the mailman if the cat was bothering him. The worker said no but it tried to get into his truck. The AA said he would take the cat as the owner put it outside a week ago and would not let it back in. HETHUSLYPICKEDUPTHECATANDCARRIEDITBACKTOTHEOFFICEANDPUTITINTHEBASEMENTWITHTHEMAINTPEOPLE’S CAT. First of if the office knew someone living there abandoned the cat they need to call Summit county APL. Second it still technically not the offices cat. That’s technically kind of theft. Now to finish the part I said I would come back to. Upon returning the kids were still there. THEYBELONGEDTOTHEAPARTMENTMANAGER. Her kids and her dog were just running around the office. She lives on site. Couldn’t she just leave the dog home and go walk it. I get maybe she can’t find people to watch her kids but still. This place has history. According to the AA. The complex was built in 1941 and became a military complex housing many of the returning Vietnam Vets. Its part of Akron’s history and the current owner and management company are literally letting it fall apart. Shame on them. The complex is huge at 300 units. If the owner rehabbed it and made it retro it could literally save the city block. But no. They don’t care.

Unfortunately for the beautiful area of Firestone Park this place exists. Akron PD will tell you the hate this place. Shootings, drug dealers, fights, burglaries, and vandalism are all present. What sucks is the residents are the ones doing this. Avoid this place at all cost. They advertise beautiful pictures and nice descriptions of the place but all are misleading. Unless you like the war torn country look find somewhere else to live.
