Everything was ok but I took my car there and when I left I found out there was nails on my tire now I have to get a new one

Friendly staff, fast service, inexpensive. Had to get a smog check and was $ 20.00 cheaper than where I’ve taken my car before here in Alameda. Car was ready when they said it would be done. Would come here again.

I come here every time I need a smog check. They are fast, ethical and just really, really nice people.

What can I say… It was one of the easiest smog experiences I’ve ever had. The genlteman on the phone told me, they’d give me a discount for being in the military and the whole process could be completed the same day in less than 20 minutes. So I went during lunch, dropped my truck off, accepted his recommendation for some fine dining down the block and by the time I returned from stuffing my face, my truck was parked, smogged and all documentation had been completed with the DMV electronically. So in my opinion… All around Lunchtime WIN!!!

After my car did not pass the smog check the owner gave me advice on cheap ways to fix the problems I was having. I went back several times to check my catalytic converter monitor indicator. Eventually I fixed my problem and got my car passed.

Just about as painless Smog testing can be. They opened on time, I was in and out in 25 minutes. The kind gentleman explained the charges before the testing started!

I would never use this place even if they were the least expensive place in town due to what I consider real ethical shortcomings.
My brother shipped me his older car from back east that he wanted to pass along to his son who is going to school in southern cal. I was going to get it smog tested then drive it down to my nephew so he could get it registered or repaired if it failed the test.
This smog place offered a free retest if it failed (assuming you would have it repaired). I specifically told the guy, before the test, I would not be able to take the retest because any repair would take place in

It turns out that the engine light was on. In my ignorance I was not aware a car will automatically fail if the light is on.
The smog guy, who claimed to be the owner, told me after it failed, that he knew the car would fail even before the test because the light was on. His exact words … I knew «it would absolutely fail» and I knew it would fail as soon as I turned the car on.
I asked why didn’t he tell me, particularly since I told him I would be unable to retest at his shop.
The fee by the way is $ 72.
He claimed… oh I’m not allowed to tell you. It’s against the law.
Right! Even if it is… that’s a pretty lame law and regardless… what kind of person takes your money under the circumstances i’ve just described. The kind I, at least, would never, ever want to do business with again.
Oh…just to be fair… he very ‘generously’ took 10% off the bill.

Easy, fast and no problems. Competitive price. While I was waiting went to park street for lunch.

Service at AAC was excellent! I was able to get my car in and out in less than 20 minutes, AND I was given a good lesson in tire pressure while I was waiting! Thank you AAC! Very grateful and appreciative to you today.

I was very happy with the service and walk in availability. I was only able to get a smog check on the weekend and these guys were more than quick about it. The only gripe I have the the excess oil prints left by the mechanic.

A bit pricy, but was quick and efficient. $ 71 total but I drove in… they greeted me and 30 mins later it was done with a pass with no appointment.

Drove up, the guys helped me immediately, told me it would be 20min and then boom I was done! Very friendly and easy going. Quick service! And with the Unilocal check in it was $ 65. Don’t know if that is reasonable since I am fairly new to car owning, but fine by me! I will come here again!

Couldn’t be much better. I drove up and some one walked over to help me as I was getting out of the car. She took a minute to fill out the service order and had me sign it and gave me a copy. About 30 minutes later I got a call that my car was ready. I came back, paid and was on my way. This place came recommended by a local mechanic, Emo. You can find him on Unilocal.If you choose to wait there they have some tables and chairs and books. They also have some kids fire truck toys out front and some fish tanks to look at.

I was very happy with this Smog place. Since I have to bring my little guys with me, it’s pretty awesome that they have a waiting room full of children’s books and crayons etc. I made an appointment, so they were super fast (~15 mins.), so we didn’t have to even wait that long. They were very friendly and even gave my boys coloring books to take with us. I will go there again.

Great and easy service! Drove up and parked as I was getting out of the car an employee was already on their way to assist me! Only took 45 mins for my smog check because there were 2 other cars in front of me, very reasonable. They are right next to park street so I was able to run some other errands and do some shopping while I was waiting. I will definitely come back here for my smog checks!

This place is a rip off!!! I’ve been a past customer and only for proximity to home but NEVER AGAIN! Price is way too high and when my car didn’t pass they wanted full payment as if it did pass just for me to get my keys back. Then they said if I come back, I only have to pay $ 35 for a retest. They should disclose this prior to beginning service. As a courtesy it really should be a small fee for not passing (if that) then the difference to equal the full amount. The owners wife said California charges a mandatory retest fee and that is a FLAT OUT LIE. It is to the discretion of each station! I should have known something was up when I was the ONLY customer there!

Fast, efficient, friendly, and affordable. I called and asked if there was a wait and there wasn’t. They met me at my car door, gave me a $ 71 quote, told me 30 minutes. I walked up Park street to get frozen yogurt and chatted on my phone. Came back in 30 minutes and my car was already done. Paid my $ 71 and they send everything to the DMV for me. And they checked my tire pressures! Now that’s what I call service!
And just a quick note about one of the reviews below: this is a smog only shop so if your check engine light is on, they tell you. But as this is a Smog ONLY shop, they do not have the equipment to diagnose or fix an issue like the check engine light being on (which could be caused by anything from a faulty catalytic converter to a bad air pump or a leak). Don’t ask your dentist why you’re having tummy upset; don’t ask the smog shop to diagnose your check engine light.

My registration was due in April so I figured I didn’t want to procrastinate. Woman over the phone coughed incessantly which was pretty gross but said there was no wait. Came here on a Friday afternoon and there was one car ahead of me. Ate my sandwich, played with my phone and next thing you know, car was done! The one guy that does the smog checks was very thorough. He checked my tires too and I asked him if I was leaking gas since it had a strong smell. Everything looked good and I was happy of course since I passed with flying colors. They’re not a mechanic so you’d have to take your car elsewhere if you don’t pass. $ 71 and they are STAR certified if you need it for registration.

I brought another one of my cars in for its first smog check…2006 Honda… and wouldn’t have taken it to any other…
The wait… almost 3 hours… that is why I didn’t eat lunch til I got there, went to the Island Taqueria for a yummy lunch, enjoyed over an hour at the Antique shop around the corner on Park… although an hour just wasn’t enough…
Enjoyed walking the street shops that we usually just drive by and never bother to stop and shop…
