I know Alameda — the neighborhoods, schools, services, city ordinances, and local real estate customs. I keep current on the daily changes in real estate. I work in the neighborhoods I know and understand to how keep you from risk. Should Alameda not be your first choice, I am skilled and conscientious in the 13 surrounding east bay cities.

I want my clients to know what they are buying. I don’t want them to make a mistake by paying too much, choosing the wrong neighborhood for their lifestyle, buying a house not in the condition it appears to be in, or entering into contract that gives them little, or no protection. I will point out the pros and cons of a particular home and location. It’s rewarding to help people get the home they want. Many of my past clients stay in their home for many years. That tells me they made the right choice.

Prior to working as a realtor, I spent over ten years in construction management, home renovations, marketing, and sales. I enjoyed interacting with clients, as well as gathering and exchanging ideas to meet their goals. This experience not only gave me a strong foundation in working with figures and contracts, but also showed me that I love helping people.

I grew up in Texas but spent a good portion of my childhood in Alameda. I like to think that I bring that Southern hospitality coupled with the easy-​going attitude of the Bay Area.

Prior to working as a realtor, I spent over ten years in construction management, home renovations, marketing, and sales. I enjoyed interacting with clients, as well as gathering and exchanging ideas to meet their goals. This experience not only gave me a strong foundation in working with figures and contracts, but also showed me that I love helping people.

Buying a home or selling a home, no matter where you are in life’s path, can be a difficult and stressful process. As a first time home owner, I was so excited to move into my first home in Alameda — my goal is to help you move into a home that makes you just as happy.

Anthony is amazing to work with! We were first time homeowners who didn’t have much knowledge of the process and Anthony did a great job of walking us through everything and answering our questions. He is very knowledgeable of the real estate industry and helped us put together a competitive offer. He was very good at communicating and following up with the seller’s agent and would provide us with updates throughout the process, sometimes even several times a day. We were dealing with a difficult seller, but Anthony went way above and beyond what any agent should have to do, including driving several hours into the wee hours of the night to pick up paperwork so we would be able to close on time. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a home in the Bay Area, and especially to those who are looking in Alameda. He is well connected in the community and is very easy to work with!

Anthony is one of the most passionate, knowledgeable and hardworking people you’ll ever meet. As a real estate agent, he will go the extra mile for his clients to make sure that they are comfortable with their purchase. During our search for our new home, Anthony was extremely proactive in communicating with the selling agent and helped us to prepare a competitive offer. We ended up with the house we wanted and he continued to work with us through the home inspection and initial work needed to make sure we were ready to move in. Anthony did a great job putting together a solid offer for our now new place. Because of him we were able to have a competitive bid that got us the place. He was very accessible through the house buying process and very understanding with and willing to work around our busy schedule especially as parents of a newborn. Areas of improvement could be organization and attention to detail, as we would often have to proofread contracts for spelling/​wording areas and do things last minute. We are grateful for Anthony’s expertise as first time homebuyers!

Anthony is just super! I was actually working with another agent who brought Anthony on to work with her on the purchase of our house (long story, we were buying from an investor who bought the property at a foreclosure auction, so it was a little unusual). Anthony went above and beyond to help secure the deal for our house. The house needed extensive renovations and he and was also a great resource for us there as well. Anthony’s enthusiasm for what he does shows, he’s quick to replay to calls/​texts and he will advocate for buyers in this tough real estate market! Thank you Anthony!

Anthony is Knowledge and Knowledge is Power! He knows the markets, he knows what to look for on inspections, and knows a lot about real estate in general. Very few Real Estate Agents go the extra mile Anthony goes for their client. For Anthony, no job is too small when it comes to representing his clients. As a lender, I have worked with Anthony on both sides of the transaction and he is always impressive, patient, and professional.

Anthony stepped in for our primary realtor when she had to leave the country on unavoidable family business. Anthony completely lived up to the very high expectations set by Kate McCaffrey, our primary agent, and took care of a lot of the nitty-​gritty for us. He arranged several of the inspections, and also spent hours with me at same inspections, making sure I asked the right questions and got the information I needed. In the end, though he did not start out as our agent, Anthony gave us service just as if we were his own clients. I would absolutely recommend Anthony Lim to anyone looking for an agent in Alameda!

Anthony helped my wife and I find our dream home in Alameda.
Things I liked about Anthony:
1. He’s a cool guy. Chances are, you are going to spend a LOT of time with your real estate agent. Helps if he’s a cool guy (or gal).
2. He knows Alameda REALLY well. He’s lived here a long time and knows the ins and outs of each neighborhood.
3. He’s patient. If you have been open housing in Alameda lately (or really anywhere in Bay Area) you may have noticed that inventory is in very short supply. In other words, it may take awhile before you:
a. Find that perfect house
b. Make an offer without getting clobbered in a bidding war (in the cases where this happened to us, Anthony had advised us to make a stronger offer beforehand, we didn’t listen:).
Anthony was always patient throughout the process. He seems to really like what he does.
4. He knows the real estate business really well, and was able to explain each part of the process in easy terms to a first time home buyer like myself.
5. He works really hard. There were several cases during our home search where Anthony took the initiative to pull permits on a property, or arrange to have a contractor meet us at a property to give opinions on upgrades, or potential problem areas. In my experience, Anthony was also very responsive.
6. He embraces technology. We were actually able to sign
all of our pre-​closing documents (offer, disclosures, check of contingencies, etc) electronically using DocuSign. Super convenient. Saves trees.
7. He’s trustworthy. At each point of the home buying process, I felt that Anthony was representing our best interests. He was quick to point out problems with many of the properties we looked at, and even recommended that we pass on some of them.
Things I didn’t like about Anthony:

Anthony is a great agent and I highly recommend him. My wife and I bought a home on Bay Farm island and the process went very smoothly, even though it was a short sale! We moved from LA and bought in Alameda because of the great schools and proximity to SF and Oakland. Anthony did a great job of teaching us the micro-​neighborhoods and found a really great area for us.
First, you should go to Anthony because of his local knowledge of Alameda, although I’m sure he knows other parts of the Bay Area as well. It was really important to me that we used an agent who understood the differences of each little neighborhood — architecture, people, prices, schools, etc. He was kind enough to take us to each neighborhood in Alameda and I’m not talking about just driving through in a car. It meant walking the streets, hanging out in restaurants and looking at houses that previously sold over the last couple years.
Second, Anthony is very transparent and does a good job of explaining things. My previous experience with another agent was very rushed. I really liked the way Anthony followed-​up on things and never guessed. He was really fantastic about finding answers. He’s got great resources at Bayside Real Estate. I really enjoyed working with a agent who keeps up with the times. I feel that other agents in Alameda are slightly out of touch.
Last, Anthony is great with communications. He’s timely and articulate. I have a crazy schedule and I send emails at 6AM and 11PM. I was surprised to see that Anthony always responded to my emails within minutes anytime of day or night. I really felt that he was looking out for me and that things were moving. There was no downtime.
Overall, great experience. If you want an agent who will get things done right, Anthony is your man.

How should I get started? After visiting many open houses in the bay area and talking to various realtors, I got a positive impression after meeting Anthony at his open house and my instincts were correct. He is the hardest working realtor I have ever met and he was there for us through every step of our home buying process. We tried to use VA loan which most of realtors turned us away, but Anthony was so positive and patient with us. With his help, we bought our first home with a VA loan! I can’t recommend him enough. If you’re moving to Alameda and are looking for someone who will advocate on your behalf — definitely consider Anthony Lim as your realtor. He’s responsive at all hours of the day and is committed to make sure that you close on the house of your dreams.
