I also never thought I would review a property mgmt company, but this one is on the opposite end. The review comes with a couple notes: 1) this is solely about the property mgmt co., not the bldg manager, Natasha. She was pretty reasonable, and I’d rate her 3 – 4 stars. 2) I have not lived in an Eclipse property, this is about the rental process. Address: 970 Post St. bldg in Lower Nob Hill. I was tirelessly searching apts recently. Moved to the city in mid-Aug. After seeing 9 – 10 apts, I was leaning towards and chose the 970 Post 1br unit I saw. It seemed a reasonable layout and well upkept by comparison with others. I told Natasha that I wanted the unit, and to please process my application. She confirmed I was the first to speak for the unit, so she would start on my app, and defer others who had not asked for the place. Seemed things would move forward. This is where the wheels fell off. I am in a career transition, and had been out of work 20+ days only when I was searching. Solely because I didn’t have current income, I needed to proved proof of THREE times annual rent. Crazy policy, but it was at least documented in their rental qualifications document, which I read thoroughly. Well, I have a little stowed away, so I provided them with this. Exceeded their specs. So, I thought we would be all good. NOPE. Despite exceeding every documented qualification for rental of one of Eclipse’s units, I was asked to go above and beyond all documented policies, SOLELY due to 20 days without work while transitioning. Natasha informed me that Eclipse was asking that I have a guarantor, AND pay 2x rent security deposit. I told her I was *not OK with the security deposit since I had exceeded documented specs for rental. She was not able to get Eclipse to even discuss or negotiate this with me. They essentially did not budge, even though they were asking for something they DON’T document they would need to ask for. This showed NO goodwill, and I did not agree with this business model. I had to ask myself, if this is how they conduct themselves now, what about when I’m a tenant? What kind of a business/lessor am I about to «get in bed with» as they say? So, I told her to pull my application, and went with my 2nd choice. End of story: this is a poorly run business. People/customers and fairness are NOT important to them. I would strongly advise NOT to voluntarily give your money to them on a monthly basis.

I never thought I would write a review for a property manager but the service that I have received as a tenet in a building managed by Eclipse has inspired me to write. Every issue that has come up in the two years that I have been in my building has been handled appropriately and immediately by friendly, helpful people. Their communication system works. When I call to report an issue, no matter who answers the phone, that person is able to handle the call promptly and professionally, such a contrast to the clueless people working at Mason Management, my previous property manager. Good job Eclipse!
