Just thought I should drop in and update my last review for Rudy, of Golden Gate Sheet Metal. His company remains a total 5 star operation. His truck has become part of the neighborhood — so many people call him now. He’s put in at least two full replacement furnaces (including ducts) on this one block and repaired several others. Everyone has only good things to say about his skill, good nature, common sense, and forthright way of doing business.
He continues to be my #1 furnace expert!

Rudy is one of the best workmen I’ve ever met. He came out to work on our aged, under-​the-​floor gas furnace. Installed a modern digital thermostat, and ordered a new part. Came out again today to put the new part in. It’s working beautifully! I had privately wondered whether he’d try to talk me into replacing ithe entire furnace, especially since I had been widowed since he’d first been here.
Not at all. Rudy’s one of the most ethical guys I’ve ever met. Patiently showed me how to set the new, digital thermostat. Gave me a reasonable bill I could live with, plus a sense of security that I’d be able to keep my home warm.
This company is local, feels family-​run. Heather in the office, Rudy doing the outside work. I’m happy to give a good review to good people.

Rudy! Thank you sooo much for fixing my heater and installing that fabulous touch screen. Now my house is nice and warm, just in time for my mom coming to visit. As you know, she thought that my broken heater story was a farce and I was cheaping out by not providing heat when she was visiting… Now I can prove her wrong! Happy holidays!

I highly recommend GGSMW. My home was built in the 50s and had wall heaters which we know are dirty and an inefficient form of heat. When my husband and I decided to upgrade to central heating we had several bids for this job. If need to let you know that our home is on a slab foundation and the addition has a flat roof. Other contracoers said the job would be difficult and you could just tell my the look on the guys face, he did not want to work this hard.
Then there was Rudy. After assessing the job, he came up with the plan best to provide heat including the area with the flat roof. He approach was, «It is all in a days work» and we were set to go.
Rudy explained what to expect along the way and he was very efficient. Remember wall heaters mean holes in walls and new sheet rock and texture. At the end of each work day, the place was neat as a pin. He was respectful of the landscaping and did not break any plants or trees doing the outside work on the roof.
When the job was finished he provided a tutorial on the computer for the new heater. I cannot say enough wonderful things about his work ethic, efficiency and skill. I would recommend his services highly.

Needed to replace a furnace in a 102 year old home we have in Alameda. We called several heater companies for a quote. Hands down, Rudy (and Ernie) from Golden Gate Sheet Metal were the most knowledgeable and honest people to come out. They really know their stuff. We went with Golden Gate for the installation. Absolutely no complaints. Their bid was competitive, installation completed timely, and service exceptional. I am recommending this company to everyone who needs a new furnace. You cannot go wrong!

I wholeheartedly recommend GGSMW for any heater repairs. I had unexpected water heater, floor heater and ducting repairs, and Rudy gave me an excellent quote, and followed it up with an outstanding installation. He brought my system up to code and also took care of all the permitting and City inspection. My water heater and heater are working much better than before, and the new internal and external ducting looks great!

Rudy has been out to our house twice now, and been such a pleasure to work with I though I better post a review. The first time was a bit of an emergency. Our sump pump flooded our basement, took out our water heater, and flooded our ancient furnace. Rudy came out at a moment’s notice to check out the furnace and make sure everything was safe to operate. Rudy came out to our house again this week to give us an estimate for adding some ducts in other areas of our home. It turns out that this is not possible. Rudy was very honest and thoroughly explained other options that were available to us, and even gave some recommendations for companies to do the work. At least I know who I’ll be calling when it comes time to replace the ancient furnace…

I highly recommend Golden Gate Sheet Metal! They just installed a new furnance in my townhome. They were prompt in arriving for all appoinments, their estimate was reasonable and they left my home as clean as they found it. No surprises. The person who provided the estimate was the same person who did the work. They made sure I was aware of all rebates available and provided the forms. They even came back to meet with the inspector to ensure the work would pass inspection. Would rate them 10 stars, if I could.

Rudy has been working for our granny in Alameda for years. He always made things right, and he always made us warm! Bridget in the office was so ON THE SPOT with paperwork, that she had copies of all our work, and the rebate forms put together with notes giving me instructions on how to fill out and send in the refunds and rebates. She made it so simple, I was surprised! If you want to hire a contractor with confidence, I guarantee that you will NOT regret your decision to hire Golden Gate!
