History

Established in 1997.

Myerhoff & Associates owns and manages nearly 100 units in San Francisco’s East Bay. Our business consists of three main components:

1) Buying properties with partners for our own portfolio.

2) Managing multi-​family properties for clients.

3) Brokering transactions, sales and exchanges of commercial real estate.

With nearly 15 years of experience our focus is multi-​family investments.

Business Owner

Nick Myerhoff has over 15 years of experience buying and managing income property. He has completed numerous complex real estate transactions including condo-​conversions in San Francisco and multiple 1031 exchanges.

Prior to becoming a real estate investment adviser in the San Francisco Bay Area, Nick worked as a computer graphics professional making numerous successful video games and designing bicycles for Target and Toys R’ Us.

Nick brings a passion for design and creativity to his daily brokerage business. He has successfully incorporated social media and the newest software tools in order to better serve his clients.

Nicks number one goal is to diligently serve his clients needs, whether buying, selling or holding, and help them create a long term strategy with their apartment buildings.

Nick was my real estate agent on a 4 plex I purchased in Oakland. He was the second agent I had as I have pretty high expectations. The deal that he closed was a complicated one and not traditional 30 yr mortgage. In fact, the listing agent told me it wouldn’t go through based on financing package I had. Nick was instrumental in closing the deal and providing me with guidance throughout the process. He has deep knowledge of the investment property market in Oakland and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Nick Myerhoff and will use him again.

Though my lease is soon up, I have found Nick to be VERY sensitive and responsive to my needs as a renter in one of the Oakland buildings he manages. He has lived up to his commitments, works diligently to resolve the maintenance issues, and has never been too busy to resolve any and all of the minor challenges of managing a large complex.
Nick is a man of high integrity (a very rare characteristic these days) who lives up to his tenants’ expectations for responsiveness!

Nick is a professional in the truest sense of the word. He is the rare exception who will put his client’s needs in front of his own. I believe Nick does this because he is smart enough to know it will benefit him more in the long run. I also believe he actually has integrity, an increasingly rare trait. Nick will work hard with you, he will listen attentively, and be very patient with the whole process. My wife and I bought a building after several months of searching and not once did we feel pressured to make a decision. I recommend Nick wholehartedly.

Nick didn’t seem to care that our building had bed-​bugs and was generally unprofessional and pushy throughout the duration of my lease. I could not in good conscious recommend him to anyone.
In his response below, Nick uses the phrase «we» several times, but he was the only one working for his «company» at the time I leased from him (he specifically asked me to address my rent checks to him, at his home address). He made a lot of strange requests — if you told him the washer was broken he would ask you to «check again.» At one point he asked if he could use my WIFI to support his on site security camera.
Managing a building IS hard, but if you need tenants to do your job maybe this is the wrong business for you. Get to the building, check the dryer yourself, or send someone. If you want a security camera, pay extra for wifi.

We hired Myerhoff & Associates to take over management of our 8 unit property after many years of doing it ourselves. When we had a sewer back up and flooding inside the units recently, Nick was there to help and we were so grateful to have him in our lives during that catastrophe. He knew exactly what to do because as a property owner, he had been through it before. He relocated the tenants, contracted with the right remediation company and re-​rented the unit at a higher rate very quickly. Myerhoff and his staff are extremely patient with us and always pay attention to the things that are important to us. If it’s important to us, it becomes important to them.

As a renter I’ve been very happy living in one of the Myerhoff & Associate’s apartment units for the last 11 months (I’ll be here much longer, I’m sure!)
Nick and his team have been incredibly responsive to all of my maintenance requests. Recently they sent Anthony, one of their handymen, over to help with some small fixes and I was impressed with the quality of work done by he and his assistant. He fixed quite a few spots where the wood floor edging against the kitchen tile was lifting and did such a nice job! I appreciated the details like covering nails with caulking, etc.
When they weren’t able to clean the old windows (they were pretty dirty), Nick decided to just replace them! Now I have double-​pane windows, which is awesome.
It’s an older house so I love that I can get the «personality» of a unique building but one that isn’t run down but instead well maintained. I’ve lived in many apartments over the years and I’m extremely happy with how nice and cared for this unit is.
Also, I love that we have a renter portal that allows us to submit rent electronically and easily request maintenance fixes!
