There is literally a pound of bacon on the BLT! And the burgers are huge! The fries were great and bottomless although there’s too much food to even ask for more fries. My kids loved their food.

Great burgers! So many options to choose from. Had a bacon cheddar burger with avocado. SO filling and yummy! It was definitely a locals place and everyone was super friendly and nice. Only sad thing was a very limited beer selection.

We stopped in for lunch on our way to Breckenridge, and I was encouraged upon entering by the presence of several locals, and a large take-out lunch order going out. I thought, «The locals don’t eat at bad places!» However, although I agree with other reviewers that the service was friendly, and the portions were very generous(read: large), the food was just«okay,» and two stars is what I give for food that’s only okay. In full disclosure, I ordered the veggie grilled cheese, and this place seems like it specializes in burgers.(I didn’t order a burger, because I wasn’t up for a ½ pound burger, which is the standard size here.) My veggie grilled cheese want bad, it didn’t have any veggies, just mushrooms and avocado. The flavor of the mushrooms, while enhanced by grilling on the griddle, still were undeniably from a can. The fries were house made from potatoes, but but executed well. They were floppy :/ Ambience-wise, this place has jumbled décor and that sticky feel that pub/diner places get. I don’t usually mind this if the food is delicious, but it wasn’t. There were also several flies buzzing around our table.

We were passing through Alamosa and stopped here because of the Unilocal reviews. While I do agree with the previous posts on good food and generous portions, I only gave it two stars because it was just down right dirty. A «real dive» as my husband put it. The table was sticky, the salt/pepper shakers were all smudged up with ketchup and goo. I realize the building is old but this was old and dirty. The men’s bathroom had a hole in the floor and was worse than any gas station we had visited for hundreds of miles. So… you have been warned.

I’ve lived in Alamosa for about 9 months and have explored a good number of eateries in town, but I seriously think that these guys are the best at what they do. The portions are immense — you truly get the bang for your buck. Not to mention the burgers are delicious. They typically serve endless fries, but you’ll get so full from your order, there’s really no need for seconds. This place was recommended to me by a local, and I would just as easily recommend it to the next person.
