I ordered chicken tikka masala it was very good. I had a rus malai which was horrible. I have to wait for it that was ok but atleast they can let me know it if they didn’t have it to sell! It was hot!!! And horrible taste it wasn’t even sweet

These people are so nice! I came with a party of 6 at 630. We stayed for 2.5 hrs right before closing and they weren’t pushy at all. Granted there were no other people at the restaurant but that was still very nice. Their food is awesome! I ordered the lamb roganjosh. Bf ordered chicken Tikka manhani(?) And he liked it.

This is a delivery review so take it for what it’s worth… The food was fantastic enough to earn 4 stars. I only wish we got the other half of our order so we can talk more in depth about the offerings. The veggie and meat entrees were pretty amazing though and I always order the Lamb Vindaloo as a benchmark the 1st time I try a place. The lamb chunks were a little smaller than I’m used to but the flavor overall was pretty impressive. They got the spice level perfect though. Enough to cause a scalp sweat but not so overpowering that I couldn’t taste the spices. The only downside was they forgot one entrée, both appetizers and both naans. I was really eager to try the jalapeño and cheese naan. I can rarely find that on a menu. When we called to inquire, they insisted we got the missing items and to «look in the bag». it was annoying and comical but didn’t resolve the issue. We were eventually refunded the money for the missing items but feel like we only got to partially enjoy our meal. We’ll definitely make an effort to try this place again but will visit the restaurant instead when we next return to Albany.

My first time eating at an Indian restaurant, didn’t disappoint. I ordered hummus, naan, and chicken tikka makhani with basmati rice. Delicious!

First time dining out for Indian food, and I was not disappointed. A girlfriend and I went in around 7 on a Saturday night, and were promptly seated and waited on by a very sweet, friendly young man. We ordered the Shrimp Pakora app to share, which was served with a couple of different sauces(wasn’t sure what they were) and was very good. The shrimp were quite large, which if you love shrimp is great, but they were a bit too big for my taste if that makes sense… I ordered the chicken tikka masala, which came with rice, and a side of the garlic naan. My girlfriend ordered a more mild chicken dish, I don’t recall the name. Everything was sooo delicious. The chicken was plentiful, the rice was cooked perfectly, nice and fluffy, and the naan was out of this world. Crispy, yet nice and chewy, and generously seasoned with garlic. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Aside from the food itself, the prices were very reasonable. We spent $ 50 for the two of us(including tip), and left super full. I could’ve had leftovers, but couldn’t stop eating :) They have a lunch as well as a dinner buffet, which are both super cheap. I would probably do that next time so I can try more items and get a sense of what I like. The service was great, we were checked up on multiple times by our server, and another gentleman came out to check on us as well. I presume he was the owner, because he really seemed to care how we were enjoying our meals. Overall, very pleased, and wish I had tried it sooner! Definitely peaked my interest to try some other Indian establishments in the area as well.

Great price, great food, great service. I went in on a weekday for the lunch buffet: all you can eat for $ 6.99. I don’t think a filling meal can get cheaper than that, though I’ve lived in Los Angeles for the past 4 years so maybe my perspective is a bit skewed for Upstate NY. When I went to fill my plate there were 10+ options to choose from, more than enough variety for one meal. Service was also excellent. After coming back from each round of food our dishes were cleared and our water was refilled. The man working kept encouraging us to get more dishes and get our money’s worth. All around great experience — and a highly recommended weekday lunch buffet if you like Indian Food.

Oh, sweet heavenly Indian Gods — thank you! Aashiana made it easy to order pick up right from the Unilocal app and the food was ready in about twenty minutes. I didn’t even have to talk to any human being. I got the chicken tikka masala. It was wrapped up in a brown paper bag and came with a heaping serving of rice(like way too much, who needs that much??) and about a dozen cubes of chicken with delightful tikka masala sauce. The sauce itself had a hint of jalapenos and ordering tikka masala medium was on the spicier side, but totally great by all accounts. I loved the creamy sauce with the bits of what I think are jalapenos and the chicken was white meat and very fresh. I also got an order of cheesy naan with jalapenos. I’d skip that next time. Not as crispy as I like it and although the jalapeño and cheese stuffing was an interesting thought, it just fell short for me. My semi-complaint was the takeout didn’t include a plastic fork, spoon or any napkins. Luckily, my hotel had metal silverware so in the end I was pretty happy for the lack of needless waste, but it would have been a nice touch for them to ask if I needed silverware. The food though: so. damn. good.

The best take out Indian in Albany! Love the Chana palak and the tikka masala. The garlic naan is amazing with a ton of garlic. Always my go to take out Indian.

Not expensive, not bad tasting, and several options for non– meat eaters. I only wish they had samosas at the buffet.

For me, Aashiana is a staple in easy Indian delivery and take-out. I have never actually dined at the establishment, so please take that into consideration while reading the rest of this review. For my money, the go-to is always their Chicken Tikka(not masala), which is a well-spiced, boneless dish on their tandoori menu. The boneless chicken thigh meat always packs just the right amount of heat, usually at a level that brings a sweat to my brow without getting to the point where my nose starts to run and my tastebuds get overwhelmed. It’s served over a bed of onions and peppers with a side of rice, and not once my year of ordering from them has anything been less than piping out and juicy. Their naan(I typically go for jalapeño cheese) can be a bit flat, but I attribute that more to the transportation to my home in foil than to preparation. Yes, everything can be a touch greasy, but the flavors are spot on and nothing is ever dried out or ill-prepared. I recommend Aashiana to anyone in the Albany area who is looking for consistent Indian food, delivered quickly(almost always well in advanced of the quoted time), usually by the owner himself.

Decided to try a new Indian place. They got here faster than the time they quoted and everything was hot and containers filled full. We ordered chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and channa masala. The masalas were both much too creamy for my taste. In the vindaloo the potatoes and peppers were very fresh. I might try it again but the thickness of the masalas was a turn off for me. The delivery driver was very nice and swift though. Good service!

Ate here last Thursday late after an Alive at Five concert in Albany. We arrived about 8:00pm. It was empty and didn’t smell good. We decided to stay because the reviews were so good. Wife had chicken tikka masala mild. It was excellent. I had lamb palak medium spice. It was good. Spicier than I expected but tasty. Not generous with the lamb. Each dish came with a plate of rice but we had to buy naan separately. The actual restaurant was pretty decrepit and they wheeled a large garbage pail through the dining area out to the curb. Kinda gross and definitely not classy. Overall it was ok. I recommend takeout.

Don’t judge a book by the cover! Just moved into town and trying out the local places. Not much experience with Indian food but the flavors here were fantastic. A highlight is definitely the tikka masala and the fresh naan bread. Come for the all you can eat buffet! Edit: Pakistani food!

Ok being Indian and in college, I never got my fix for Indian food. It was very difficult and studying means energy is required. I stumbled onto this restaurant using gruubhub, an online website that allows you to order food online and pay with a credit or debit card. The place was extremely nice, with friendly service so long as you don’t mind accents. The food was very good, and this coming from an Indian! The prices were also amazing and affordable on a college students budget, and I highly recommend the mango lassi. A very yummy drink to finish off whatever you order. Tandoori shrimp is also a personal favorite of mine. I order from here almost anytime I’m too lazy to leave my dorm or I’m just staying up late studying and want Indian food all of a sudden. Highly recommend, but I don’t want to recommend too much because the prices might go up…

Definitely a «Don’t judge a book by its cover» type of place. Drive too fast through this part of town and you’ll certainly miss it, I definitely have for the past 4 years! Glad we finally found it and wow, plenty of highlights! We started out with the garlic Naan. The garlic was a bit too much for me but, I love Naan so it was still great. They have a good variety of Naan so I will definitely be trying all of them at some point! I ordered the Chicken tikka masala-pretty standard– but I’m kind of a wuss when it comes to spice so it was a natural choice for me. It was great, creamy with a bit of zest and the chicken was quite tender. My husband ordered the Lamb Biryani, it came with basmati rice and raita(fresh yogurt with tomatoes and cucumbers). The waiter asked how spicy he would like the dish on a scale of 1 – 10 and my husband asked for a 7. We definitely think he automatically downgraded him to a 5! If he did, we’ll never we know, but whatever he did– my husband was pleased. He described the lamb as tender and a flavorful with a nice balance of spice. The portions were generous, we both left satisfied and I had leftovers(bonus!). We had to try dessert, especially since one of my best friends raves about Rasmalai(she’s from Chennai and says this is her all time fave dessert!). Sadly, they didn’t have it– my heart broke a little– but it’s ok just one more reason to come back! However, the Gulab Jaman was a more than fair consolation prize– delicious! More exciting news: There’s a dinner buffet special for $ 9.99! The catch: it’s only Fri/Sat– we were disappointed but even more reason to come back! Like I alluded to earlier, don’t expect to come here for the linens and the ambience. But if you want that«hidden gem, great find» feeling complete with the hole in the wall experience… this place has got you covered!

Very affordable place for Indian buffet if you want a filling meal. I’m not an expert in Indian cuisine, but it’s pretty decent(awesome for the price!). The place is a little small, skits a little crowded if you wanted to bring a party. It’s conveniently located in an easily accessible place, and the servers were friendly when I went there. There isn’t much variety of options as a buffet, but it’s pretty good for a small, local eat.

Chicken Tikka Masala is the best I have had in a very long time. 5 stars all around for food. Not much of a location for sit-down meals so I do a carry out most of the time.

Aashiana is my constant in Albany. It’s the definition of a hole in the wall gem. It’s not much to look at folks but I’ve been here dozens of time and I have NEVER been disappointed. The 7 $ buffet CANNOT be beat. Their dishes are simple, consistent, delicious and oh so palatable. I’ve always wanted to ask for their hummus recipe. So creamy and it goes perfectly with their ALWAYS fresh, soft, warm naan and crisp, green tabbouleh. I could live off of their vegetable korma, chicken tikka, palak paneer… And the kheer, their rice pudding! So good! I think I can taste rose water in it. It’s a perfect ending to a perfect meal. If you think you like food eat here. Sigh. Aashiana for life.

Consistent amazing food and service! My friend and I were so pleased by our experience a couple weeks ago that we were eager to come back again. It was a little more crowded but we were able to pick out our favorite table against the left wall. All the other seating is a little awkward with the tables too close when it’s busy. We went on a Friday night at 8 when their buffet was open although we decided on ordering what we had last time since it was so delicious and basically serves as two meals with leftovers. Everyone else there came for the buffet, which looked pretty decent. We ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka makhani, mango lassi, and garlic and plain naan. The man who was our waiter was very nice but had difficulty understanding what we were saying; when I placed my order he misunderstood and thought that I said makhani instead of masala, So when the food came out, which was served by our waiter and the owner, I was a little confused as to why the curries looked identical when last time they were very different. I politely told them that I ordered the masala and the owner was very accommodating and remorseful about the situation: he rushed to get me the correct meal. It was a little disappointing to have to wait for my food while my friend began eating hers but it was fine. What really wowed me at the end of our meal was that the owner insisted that we went up to the buffet for a complimentary dessert. Even though the situation wasn’t that big of a deal, he cared enough about his customers to give us exemplary service. Something that really reflects on their quality as an establishment. I was very pleased with our experience yet again and look forward to eating my leftovers~
