I took my Chevy Silverado 2011 to EMW Auto Body in Albany Ca
Paul the owner was Very honest and very friendly.
I came to this auto body, after disappointment with other auto body in the past,
But my feeling was okay with this Paul, I left my car at the shop, after the car was fixed, Paul called me, and I was very satisfied with the work .
My car looks like a new car again, the owner was very easy to work with, fast and affordable, Highly recommended to everybody that need Auto Body Shop Repairs.

I’ve been taking my cars here for years and the service is always great and the work done on schedule and top notch. Very honest and they always remember me, even if it’s been a few years. Thanks for the great service.

Took my Honda Civic in to get the back bumper and trunk door fixed, but I got much more than I originally anticipated. EMW was nice enough to fix a loose part of my front bumper at no cost in addition to installing a sun visor I purchased.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the speedy and thorough service provided by Paul and his team!

Paul (The owner) is a nice enough guy, but his staff are bunch of amateurs. I recently had my wife’s car fixed here. She was in a little fender bender about a month back and the insurance agency told me that this was the closest approved body shop. After about three weeks of waiting for the car I picked it up and it looked okay, not great, the driver side headlight was off kilter. Right away we both noticed a distinct rattle while driving. The car died the next day, so I called Paul and he said it was the battery and that it needed to be replaced. I told him to go ahead and do it. I paid $ 120 bucks for that and reminded him to adjust the headlight. When I called him up and told him that I was on my way to pick up the car i briefly asked him if he had adjusted the headlight and he said that he had told his guys to do it, but had noticed that they had not adjusted it. Paul then told me not to worry and that he would do it himself. I drove the Hour to get to his shop (I moved back to Peninsula soon after the accident) and he had closed about a half hour before so he left the car outside his shop. To make a long story short. My wife notice a loud rattling sound so I inspected the car only to find that the headlight (that Paul had supposedly fix) was very loose because one of the two clips was completely broken. My wife had to drive to his shop twice more before Paul finally agreed to replace the headlight. Apparently the headlight clip was part of the complete headlight unit and could not be sold on its own. I was happy that after driving back and forth three times the problem was fixed. Unfortunately that was not the end of the story. I was driving in front of my wife and noticed that the new headlights were not centered. I called Paul and just ask him about the kind of body shop he was running, and of course he again blames his staff. I ended up adjusting the lights myself. Call me crazy, but I just feel that when a person pays over six thousand dollars to fix his car they should fix it all the way, and not do half ass work.

My insurance company referred me to EMW. Paul, the owner, does a great job providing good customer service & making sure his customers are happy. Not only did he worked around my schedule, but he also provided me a detailed estimate and frequent updates regarding my car’s progress. The work was done efficiently & timely, since my car was available ahead of schedule. When I picked up my car, it looked like the accident never happened! The color was right on & Paul & his crew even went the extra mile of cleaning my dirty headlights! I was happy to see my car totally repaired, but I was also happy to see how EMW takes great care & pride in their work.

this shop is very professional. the owner & the whole staff are very nice & easy to work with. i’ve taken 3 of my cars there & all 3 times they have done an exceptional job. very happy with there work. paint looks awesome! i recommend this shop to everyone!

Referred here by my insurance company. Owner/​manager was very easy to work with. Has a down-​to-​earth personality. He’s respectful and not pushy or rude. Likes to joke. Also helped me out with the deductible.
My car had a minor fender bender to the rear right quarter panel. Took EMW a week to repair… not bad at all, although I really missed my car. That being said, I kind of wished they offered a courtesy car (but that might be asking too much). Not adding rental car coverage on my insurance policy was my bad. The owner did offer to give me a ride to BART.
The job looked great! Seamless! Paint was close enough… I’m a bit of a perfectionist… the paint may have been slightly glossy, but nothing too noticeable really.
Perhaps a wax job to top things off would have sufficed. The vehicle was returned slightly dirty. My floor mats were dirtier upon return.
Nonetheless, customer service was not too bad and the repair was definitely up to snuff!

I was referred here by my insurance company, Ameriprise. I came early (8 AM), and Paul was opening up and very friendly. He got all of my information and then did a quick estimate. Jacqueline even called Hertz to come and pick me up to go get my rental, which was so convenient.
During the next two weeks, they constantly called me to update me on my car’s progress. They even sent over an electronic copy of a doc I needed to sign when I told them I couldn’t make it into the shop before they closed.
Overall, EMW is very quick, efficient, and super friendly.
I hope I’ll never have to come here again under terrible circumstances. but I’ll be back here if there are ever any problems with my vehicle!

Took our 96 Honda Accord here for repair after a minor accident. I really liked the owner, repair was done quickly, car looks great.

These chums fix a car like someone might fix a good steak: looks well done on the outside, but once you get into it it’s a bloody mess.
Simple low-​speed fender-​bender above the driver’s side front wheel/​front of driver’s door hinge brought me to this shop (family recommendation…). Two weeks later without any status phone calls (bad communication much?), and the car was done. GREAT!.. not so fast.
I returned to this «body shop» 6 additional times for repeat repairs. The door handle fell out in the back door (which *apparently* was damaged due to my front end collision???) once a week for a month. I kid you not. «We fixed it». means «We didn’t do anything or can’t figure it out, now go home. Insurance paid us already». At the same time after the repair was completed, I had wind noise while on the freeway/​frontage road, as well as water leakages in the driver’s door (these were all new problems. after the crash i drove the car to the shop across the bay bridge and had none of this…).
After a month and a half of trying to get the job done right, I gave up with this place. Sorry guys. You were nice but you can’t call yourselves a body shop if you can’t screw in a door handle, even after ordering a new one from the VW dealer and trying to replace it. It still fell out another 4 times.
Finally, I ended up going to Automotive Collision Repair in Oakland, a VW certified shop, and they were fantastic. They told me that the doors were not aligned by the previous shop, causing my wind noise and water leaks, and, after they’d opened the car up to look at the job done previously, told me that EMW had covered up the damage with repaired parts… in my assumption, to pocket the «repair labor fees» which were never performed.
EMW seemed to repair visible damage but hide/​ignore the stuff that wasn’t visible to the eye. Even after bringing the car back to them with complaints, they weren’t able to trace the issue. Disappointing.

My 1998 two door honda accord had been peeling for a while now and it really bothered me. So, I checked out a few different places, and finally decided to go with EMW because they had the most reasonable price and the guy that worked there just seemed really cool. Paul made everything SO easy for me.
I don’t usually review anything but FOOD, BUTTT my car looks FABULOUS :) and I no longer look like a bum.

I don’t know about the auto repair part of this business — I rented a Budget truck from them.
That said, this is a quality family run business that was recommended to me by a long time Albany resident. I made a reservation online through Budget’s website, I went (late, even); the truck was there. Paperwork was quick and painless, and I drove off 10 minutes later. The odometer was set properly, which apparently is not the case at the San Pablo U-​Haul location.
I drove my worldly belongings down to Mountain View, drove the truck back, filled it up, dropped it off and was in and out of the office in five minutes. No bullshit damage or mileage charges. No ridiculous wait. They just made sure the gas was full, checked the mileage and printed a receipt.
An island of sanity in the chaos that is moving.
