The Retail Council of New York State is a full-​service trade association representing nearly 5,000 members ranging in size from sole proprietor to national chain. The Council is committed to serving the needs of merchants and related professionals by providing a wide range of products and services that save members both time and money. As the «voice of retailing» in New York, the Council represents the interests of our members before the State Legislature and government agencies. Additionally, we offer exceptional merchant services like credit card processing, NYS Workers’ Compensation Insurance, New York Statutory Disability Insurance and other insurance services and valuable incentives. History

Established in 1931.

The Retail Council of New York State was incorporated in 1931 by a group of retailers looking to combine their interests and leverage their strengths to better support their businesses. Today, the Council is New York’s largest full-​service, statewide retail trade association.
