SpringHill Suites Albany-Colonie

This is a nice and clean hotel. It is nothing fancy. It has a very small indoor pool. Breakfast is a C minus. If you have any issue with carbs, the scrambled eggs are your only option. There were whole oranges. They had oatmeal. The other offerings were bagels, muffins and waffles.

This is my GO-​TO hotel in Albany. It’s newer, clean, safe, and quiet. And it is always a great price. My last stay cost $ 93 booked directly on
. Close to highways, major businesses, shopping, and the airport, it’s a great location from which to access anything in the area The rooms are huge and well laid out. My only complaint is one with almost all Springhill Suites, not just this one, and that is the sliding glass barn door to the bathrooms. They don’t offer complete privacy if you are traveling with others. It’s something they could easily correct and I hope they do. Great for business travelers though. Stay here you won’t regret it.

very summer the family heads to the ocean and albany is pretty much a good halfway point to stop for the night. I’ve been a Marriott member since always and have had great experiences with all of their hotels. We had never stayed here before, but the price was fair and with a group of ten, the rooms were very accommodating to fit us all. It’s clean, the hotel has a modern look and there’s breakfast included, but what was really the best part, was that I had left a box of mine in the hotel room when we checked out and continued our journey. I didn’t realize until we got to our destination that I had forgotten it. I called the manager who was on duty the night before (terribly sorry I can’t remember his name) and he was extremely helpful and was able to ship the box to me the next day. I can’t remember the last time hotel staff went out of their way like this so I will always remember the high quality of customer service at this place.

I wish I paid more attention to many of the reviews I read about this property. First let me start by complimenting the staff at this hotel. They were pleasant despite the complaints they must endure on a daily basis. The design of
The rooms or so called suited is terrible with a capital T… They are fine for the solo traveller. Only one tv in bedroom area. What happened to suite theme? The bathroom is divided. Toilet is adjacent to shower rm. You wouldn’t think it’s a big deal but it has slider frost glass door which tends to be loud and affords no privacy for a very private moment, Especially during night when someone else is sleeping in the bed only inches from the toilet area. Get it? Then perhaps one
May need to use vanity, sink or shower in adjacent area. Again, loud slider doors which will wake up your room mate. A very stressful night to say the least. I kept reminding myself that it was a nice location convenient to the mall, interstate highway, restaurants, dd, etc. Buta poor night’s sleep left us very cranky the next day

Overall great stay, I stayed here with family. The service staff were accommodating and friendly. The front desk staff for the most part were really professional except one of them, I didn’t catch her name but she had a bad attitude and didn’t deserve to deal with customers example of this are «you understand what I’m sayin» «sir, I just told you» all this while proceeding to book another room for me at a rate higher than advertised on the website and put in the incorrect company code which also increased the rate. Also our room keys were misplaced and we couldn’t locate them, the same front desk woman commanded us to bring them back when we find them, and repeated it again with emphasis almost commanding us to do it. We dealt with 5 front desk staff and that ¹⁄₅ really made the experience crappy the rest were great. The rooms are well laid out with the exception of storage space. If you are looking to stay here for an extended period of time there aren’t any dresser drawers anywhere. The standard WiFi was great.

The staff at this is place is amazing, so friendly, makes you feel at home. The Chupa Chups lollipops and chocolate chip cookies were definitely a plus point. :) Anways the room I stayed in was spacious and cozy, and the location of the hotel is perfect, especially when there’s a mall in walking distance. My one complete is, housekeeping must wash there hands before touching the sheets or making the bed if they cleaned the bathroom first!

Wonderful hotel. The only hotle i stay in in albany, the friendliness of the staff makes the stay ao much better. They are wonderful. .i wishbi could pack tbem up and take them with me to every hotel stay i have. Great hotel for business trips rooms are built. Nicely with hreat office space and the room is noce enouhh to have a meeting in. Simply wonderful

Very nice, clean hotel. We were on our way from Buffalo, NY to Concord, NH and stopped for one night stay. Nice accommodations. They had fresh chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. The workout room was adequate. The hot breakfast was included. definitely will stay here again when we return.

Cozy, comfortable and relaxing stay!
The Spring Hill Suites by Marriott is clean and affordable with the comfort and quality one would expect from the Marriott brand.
As a party of five we stayed in a suite with two queen sized beds, a seating area with a pull-​out couch, a sink with dressing area, separate tub and toilet room, well lit desk space and a kitchenette featuring a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge and small sink.
The room furnishings are modern and well kept, clean and comfortable. Our room also features a flat screen television, free high speed WiFi and an alarm clock with a phone charger.
* edit: I forgot to mention the free Paul Mitchell shampoos and conditioners that came with our room, and the amazing water pressure of our shower. I didn’t want to get out of the shower because it was so hot and relaxing!
The lobby is clean and cozy with a fireplace, several seating options and a counterspace for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate which are complimentary and available at all times.
There is also a complimentary breakfast served mornings with a variety of options and very fresh tasting selections.
The fitness area is small yet functional featuring some cardio equipment and a weight lifting machine, the swimming pool is also small but it is indoors and heated for a relaxing dip at any time of the year.
Any staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful, mindful of guests and had very welcoming attitudes.
If you’re looking for an affordable stay in the Colonie area without sacrificing cleanliness, high quality amenities and pleasant guest service look no further than Spring Hill Suites by Marriott.

I have been staying at the Springhill Suites in Colonie since August. Pretty much ten on, four off for twelve weeks. Michael is great at making you feel like you were missed! Rooms were spacious, housekeeping services were adequate, breakfast buffet was good and staff was very professional and welcoming. I wish rooms had a dresser or such so it wasn’t necessary to live out of your suitcase. I was not disappointed.

Stayed here for three nights with family, nice spacious rooms. Friendly guy at the check-​in. Would have given it a 4 star except for the fact on Sunday morning, kitchen staff was overwhelmed by breakfast crowd in what seemed like a full hotel.
Waited for a while before going across the parking lot to Delma’s Diner for breakfast.

This is my first overnight stay in Albany and I really only needed somewhere clean and quiet to sleep and shower between Paul McCartney and my flight back to Vegas the next day. I was not looking for luxury. I was very pleasantly surprised at how helpful the front desk (Michael) and breakfast staff were. They all went out of the way to make us feel welcome. I loved the fact that they had free parking, free WiFi, and free breakfast (I’m a sucker for a make your own waffle station). I also thought the touch of a giant bowl of Chupa Chups at the front desk was awesome. Brought me back to grade school. The beds were very comfortable and there was an overabundance of pillows (5 on each bed). I also liked the fact that you have a small living room with a fridge, sink, and microwave should you need them. The only thing keeping me from giving this hotel 5 stars is that the Paul Mitchell shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap all appeared to have been used. The bottles were less than half full and gunked up. Good thing I travel with my own!

Stayed for 2 nights for a show at SPAC. Hotel is about a half hour from the venue. Worth the drive. Clean, nice breakfast spread and friend it staff. Rates 3 stars. But the EXCEPTIONAL attention and service we got from Mike, the front desk manager, calls for another star! Mike gave us directions, recommended restaurants, and even saved the day when our car wouldn’t start! Mike came out and jumped the car, with a charger he had behind the desk. Which was the only way we could’ve gotten it started since it was parked in a way no cars could pull in front of it! Thanks to Mike, our dead battery was nothing more than a 10 minute delay!

I attempted to further resolve the issue I was having with Carrie, the general manager of this particular location. She actually had the audacity to tell me that guests should be «held accountable.» Seriously?
BEWARE of this location as they are completely inflexible. Ultimately, I was able to get the issue resolved through another avenue.

I had a good stay.
I am aluminum status with Marriott so I wasn’t expecting too much.
They night guy greeted me at the door and checked me in.
The breakfast was actually pretty good.
Parking is a pain. That is the only down side to arriving late.
The room was clean and smelled OK.
I would stay here again.

Surprisingly nice hotel for the money. The suites are roomy, clean and well appointed for the price and wifi is included for free.
The staff was very friendly.
Breakfast is also included for free but is nothing to write home about. Though, if you’re too lazy (or cheap) to go out for breakfast, it’ll fit the bill.
My only complaint is the pool. We have a 6 year old daughter who loves the water. The pool is tiny, and the water was cold. We did not enjoy it.
Other than the pool we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

After a 2 night stay, I could of not been any happier with my stay at this hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was spot on. The room and bathroom were spotless. Really nothing that warrants anything less than 5 stars.

I always find it hysterical that no matter where you are in the USA, your Springhill Suites room is EXACTLY the same. I suppose it is comforting.
Good location, lots of restaurants and shopping close by, including a Trader Joes if you want to take advantage of that fridge of yours. Staff was great. Breakfast lacked bacon which broke my heart. The breakfasts are healthy, but if you cannot eat dairy /​eggs you are in trouble. Give me some bacon!
Enjoyed our stay. Free wifi, free parking. Tiny pool but it serves its purpose.

Great hotel. We were meeting with our aunt and uncle, and the purpose of our hotel stay was for the four of us to visit. Albany is about half way between where we each live, so what I’m saying is that we stayed here for three days with the intention of spending most of our time inside the hotel. And it worked! Propos to Marriott for this great find!
Price-​wise, be sure to use the AAA card if you have one. (If you don’t have an AAA card, by all means get one!) The AAA rate was cheaper than priceline
and a few others I scoped out. You should probably have AAA anyway. If you stay at a hotel even once a year you’ll recover your AAA membership fee, and it’s handy to be able to know that a tow truck will come get you if you need it. But I digress.
I wish I could give 4.5 stars because I truly appreciated most everything about the hotel. Staff were courteous. Rooms were clean. Front lobby sitting area was comfortable (seriously, we sat around for hours visiting with family and it didn’t get old!) There was always hot water for tea and hot cocoa, as well as coffee, available to have as you wish in the lobby area. Nice touch for our cold December stay! Wifi was free and actually worked which, if you travel much, you know is not common whether it’s free or costly.
The complimentary breakfast is a really great deal. It wasn’t just the here-are-the-danishes=and-coffee kind of «breakfast» but a rather wide variety of foods. Let me test my memory on this…: cereal, milk, fruits, bagels, cream cheese, bread, jelly, scrambled eggs, sausage, *waffle iron*, juices, coffee, tea, danishes, muffins…
Here is the only reason I can’t give five stars: The bathroom layout in the hotel rooms themselves is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. You’ll have to see the photos on their website to get a sense of the layout of the room in general, because it’s unusual with a sort of pseudo divided between a couch/​coffee table area, and the bed/​dresser area. Those two doors toward the foot of the bed lead into the two halves of the bathroom. They have it divided so in one space is the shower and a sink, and in the other is a toilet and a sink. Sounds fine. It is NOT fine. The doors are frosted glass pocket doors.
Let me give a visual: Let’s say you need to use the toilet. This will probably happen at some point if you’re staying in a hotel. You step into the half bath where the toilet and small sink are. It’s tight but okay. Turn on the light. You slide the frosted glass pocket door closed and while you’re unbuckling your pants you glance to your left (or right, if you’d standing up for this) and realize that with the light inside the bathroom and a frosted glass door, your silhouette shadow is right there for anyone in the couch or bed area to see! It’s so weird! This is not to mention that a glass sliding pocket door gives about as much sound privacy as a vinyl shower curtain, so… long story short, we literally used the main lobby bathrooms whenever possible. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, and bathrooms can sometimes be an issue simply because it’s a small hotel room, but this does take the cake for the most brutally awkward bathroom I’ve ever even heard of.
Please don’t let that deter you from enjoying an otherwise pleasantly priced accommodation in the Albany area. You will probably want to employ a strategy to deal with the bathroom weirdness, but enjoy the rest of a great value. Peace!

We loved this place! even though it is a 2.5 *, everything about it is great.
There is a little chlorine smell around the swimming pool, but the rooms are great. They are bright, clean, spacious. We booked the room with priceline and breakfast was included. Breakfast was a good buffet of eggs, sausages, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, fruits, yogurt, etc etc.

Ironic that one of the nicest «suite» hotels I’ve stayed in offers rooms that are not actually suites. Our room was divided into zones, with the desk, and the tall unit built around it, serving as a room divider. That was fine for us, but it might be a disappointment for someone expecting a separate bedroom.
But many positives outweigh that bit of false advertising.
* Location is right off 87, next to a decent mall.
* Service is amazing, from the super-​friendly folks at the front desk to the patient maintenance guy who fixed the TV remote we somehow screwed up.
* The breakfast is fab: hot, fresh, and tasty. Eggs, oatmeal with all the fixings, waffle iron that actually made great waffles, peach compote topping. And good coffee.
* Nice design of rooms and common spaces. Everything was clean and obviously well taken care of.
* The freebies: Wi-​fi! Chocolate chip cookies in the lobby! And lollipops! And coffee – 24 hours a day!

Free breakfast, 24 hr coffee, Chupa Chup lollypops. Marvelous!
Huge comfy bed, with tons of pillows. Fabulous!
Pool and jacuzzi (that I didn’t get to use) Super!
