I’m so happy to have found this wonderful cat groomer! They were fantastic with two of my Persian cats — one received a lion cut and the other a longer comb cut. I immediately sensed that the proprietors had a great rapport with animals and could see the calming influence they had on the cats when they picked them up from inside the cat carrier. Amazingly enough, both cats acted like they really enjoyed their time there! The personnel are very friendly to people too and very artful with the grooming! The kitties look amazing! I highly recommend Tails A Go-​Go and look forward to our next visit as much as my cats do :)

I hardly recognized my pooch (Pomeranian), she was so silky and fluffy. They expertly took two big mats out from behind her ears without leaving any bare/​thin spot. They also did a sanitary trim that is effective and yet looks like her natural fur growth. I am so pleased!

We have been going to tails now for two years and I literally cannot say how pleased we are with Coco and Alex. We recently got a new puppy Lucy, she’s a morkie. When her adult hair and puppy hair were merging it was a hot hot mess. She looked homeless but we took her in per usual they made magic happen. Now Lucy can see and she is gorgeous as ever! I love this place and I recommend it to anyone who asks where we go! Finally got a before and after.

We regularly take our large dog here for grooming. They are affordable for large dogs & do a great job. She’s always happy & I never worry about her treatment by their groomers or staff. That is important to me.

I tried 3 times to make this place work, but keeps falling short. I have yet to meet and talk to the groomer. They’re quite busy and the lady at the front desk is very nice and friendly. But each time I’ve requested for my poodle to not get a traditional poodle cut, I keep picking up my poodle with either poofy head or tail or long ears. The main reason why I’m writing this is because within a week after each grooming session I end up needing to take my poodle to the vet. She keeps getting cuts on the head or leg (which isn’t uncommon with poodle grooming), but they end up being infected. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on vet bills because they think there’s something wrong with her so they want more blood work. But I’ve notice this happens shortly after a grooming session. It may be coincidence (3 times in a row), but I can’t afford to continue taking my dog here due to the vet visits that follow.

These folks do a wonderful job. I have a little labradoodle, and she doesn’t mind going there. That says something! She just got groomed yesterday. She is gorgeous! Thanks Tails a Go Go!

They do a great job and are very good at dealing with the skitteshness of my cats. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else!

I’ve had pretty good experiences in the past and appreciate the way they are able to bathe and groom my 15 lb. pom/​mix so fast but this last time was quite bad. I had asked for a lion cut (completely unnecessary) which resulted in a terrible reaction to my dog’s body – inflamed, swollen skin and redness around his butt and belly. Two vet appointments with steroid shots, a prescription for doggy benedryl, complete misery for my dog and $ 400 dollars later and he still can’t take a few steps without stopping and crying. When we visited the vet she said that groomers should know to NEVER shave a pom (or any double coated dog) at all– let alone as closely shaved as my dog was.
When I called Alex at the front desk to alert her as to what had happened she was concerned and sincere. I know they would never do anything to hurt my dog. I was not asking for my money back but being in customer service myself a credit to a future grooming session or anything to give me an incentive to come back would have gone a long way. She did say she would speak to the owners but I never heard back. It’s a fine place but if you have a pom or spitz type dog – beware to make sure they don’t shave it!

Amazing service! Love Alex at the front desk. Always so pleasant and sweet. I’ve used quite a few groomers now and nothing compares to tails a go go. My dog is always done in 2 hours. Never a surprise when i pick her up. Definitely A+! Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed.

The groomer is meticulous with the work she does. She was able to gently do you Matt my mini schnauzer’s coat and keep a close eye schnauzer cut despite all the tag wings and matting that my puppy was sporting. The office manager Alex, was very professional very courteous I went above and beyond to accommodate my dog. The shop is very clean and I am very confident in their services I will bring my other dogs to them as well.

Best grooming!!! Money well worth it everytime! I’ve had my dog olive for 7 years and have moved a lot. The hardest thing to find is a groomer I trust and does a great job… Tails a go go is both! Coco cut olive perfectly the first time I brought her in just by showing a quick pic and describing what I wanted. Alex is very welcoming and always seems to work me into the schedule even when I book last minute.
I usually don’t write reviews but olive just looks way too cute to not give them the credit they deserve on Unilocal!

I took my dog here for the first time Last saturday. I thought the environment of the doggie spa was super nice and my dog felt really comfortable there. I have a mini aussie dog that has a weird fear of men. I let the shop know about his fear but he is a really sweet and loving dog. We then talked about a cut for him. I really just wanted to his butt area trimmed down a lot, his underbelly trimmed down, his toes and feathers on his arms. We then discussed taking a little off the top which i said hesistantly okay. When I got him after his beauty time, not only did it look really short, and puppy like but he was a very happy dog! I am not going to point fingers on the shortness, i agreed to it before knowing what it would look like which i do not regret but hair grows, so i am not so bummed, i know for next time. But I do not think it was worth a $ 80 doggie hair cut. I dont even pay that much for own hair. I was quoted $ 40 and I would honestly think it would be around $ 60 with that kind of cut. I found the price outrageous a bit. The women he normally sees would charge me $ 45 with the cut, which is more reasonable.
Would I give my business back to this place? Maybe if i was desperate and needed my dogs hair cut again, knowing they are a loving place and really nice people whom listen. They are really a nice shop if you have the dough.

They did a great job with my cocoa-​poo. He came out happy and adorable. I will say they are a little on the higher side, but I also can not imagine how hard cutting dogs hair would be! I would definitely recommend them.

I love this place. Everytime I take my dog, Rascal, in for a trim the people there are so gentle and patient and sweet with him. It’s not his favorite thing, you understand… having people shave his but (and other unmentionables); trim his nails; and pull the mats out of his long hair. But they are very good with him and he always leaves feeling happy.
Also, the owner does quite a bit of doggie rescue with a local rescue group. Even has a couple of sweet dogs who are up for adoption on display. Having done rescue work off and on for 10 years, and knowing how exhausting and sometimes heartbreaking it can be…, my heart goes out to anyone supporting the cause.
I prefer to spend my money with businesses who are consciously awake and willing to give back to the Community. The folks at Tails A Go-​Go seem to be just that.
And, as always, I prefer to support the local Mom & Pop type business over the Big Corporate/​Big Box super-​chains any day of the week.

Tails A Go-​Go cares about your dog and you – as soon as we walked in Coco and Alex greeted us quickly and with big smiles. They help you figure out exactly what you want if you have some vague, poorly communicated idea of it (that would be me) and offer their own suggestions (which I gladly took!).
My dog, a wirefox/​poodle rescue, is terrified of everything. We’re working on it, but it doesn’t help that of his last two trips to different groomers, only his first was a positive experience. I was nervous when I dropped him off – he was sitting against the desk and refusing to budge when I left – but about two hours later he was looking sharp, handsome, and happy as a clam! His fur was cut to perfection, and his edgy little mohawk was just adorable. His normally wirey fur is also incredibly soft (I didn’t think that was possible). I could just tell he’d been treated right, he was all smiles and wagging tails.
This place has made a repeat customer out of me – next time my pup gets too shaggy for his own good, we’re definitely going here. The cut was perfect and, more importantly, they treated my dog well.

I am so very happy that I found this place for our shih tzu Bailey.
In the beginning of last year Bailey’s long time mobile groomer moved out of state & for almost two years we have been looking for that special someone to replace her. We have tried at least 5 – 6 different groomers.(mobile & home service)
Some were ok & some not so great but not a single one even came close to our old groomer.
We gave up looking & figured we will just have to settle for «ok» rather than perfect.
Paying $ 85 for something I am not 100% happy with really bothered me though, so I decided to try Tails A Go-​Go close to my work.
I am so glad I did!
I have already used them twice & both times I was 100% satisfied.
They did exactly what I asked & Bailey was out of there in less than 2 hours which is the timing we are accustomed to after using Mobile groomers.
He smells good, he feels good, he looks good and he is happy afterwards.
Alex who takes care of the «front» is great. She is very friendly & helpful.
Coco, the groomer does a wonderful job & listens to every special request.
The grooming salon is very nice-​looking, spacious & clean.
Prices are very reasonable.

Coco is the sweetest dog groomer I have ever met! she was great with our pooch, Sadie (yes, the Sadie of the pictures they posted here on Unilocal– my dog is famous! LOL). It was a GREAT schnauzer cut & it held for about 6 months! we are bad owners & hardly brush her, so she had some matting (apparently a lot… oopsies) — Coco took the time to get all the tangles out, it was worth the extra $$$
Sadie seemed happy when we picked her up– she must have been treated well.
the price is less than Dog Best Friend around the corner & does not have that show dog vibe (Sadie is no show dog!)

I just moved to the neighborhood and needed a place to get my little one groomed. Based on the reviews I decided to give it a shot and I am really happy that I did! My dog looks great! I will surely take him back again!

When we adopted Bianco, our bischon-​frise/​poodle mix, eventually we knew he would have to be professionally groomed. I inquired with our veterinarian’s office (VCA Albany Animal Hospital) staff about groomers. Tails A Go-​Go was one of the highly recommended groomers. I asked other dog owners as to where their dogs were groomed, and the majority of the response was, «Tails A Go-​Go.» I was pleased to find out Tails A Go-​Go is a family-​owned and operated establishment. The Mother was very pleased about Tails A Go-​Go being a family-​owned business and we would try them out. And of course, it was all up to Bianco as to whether or not he would want to come back here again.
When we walked in, I felt a sense of calm and quiet. It was like going to the spa for the works – for pets instead of humans. And Bianco was definitely going in for the works and the whole spa treatment. A very pretty lady came out of the grooming area to great us. And she is one of the family owners, Coco, who is mentioned in the other reviews. She interacted with Bianco to put him (and us) at ease. We talked about how we wanted Bianco to look. (And of course, The Mother has the final say.) Coco was a tad disappointed we did not want our guy to look all fluffy. She thought our boy had great hair. No, we want him to look beautiful and clean, yet short hair all around as Bianco is a boy dog. I had some pictures of a dog I met at Cal Day who had the look I wanted for Bianco, short hair all around. We agreed on half an inch all around and with a little more on the top of Bianco’s head. If we wanted to do so, they would trim some more around his muzzle and the top of his head. Coco asked what kind of shampoo we wanted, if we wanted a whitening shampoo. I was a bit hesitant as Bianco has had some skin sensitivity issues in the past. (Yes, they do have hypo-​allergenic shampoo.) We inquired as to when Bianco would be ready for pick-​up. We were guess-​timated about two to two and a half hours. The Mother was very surprised that our little guy went willingly with Coco to the grooming area in the back. And I saw a cat that reminded me of Morris the Cat (of 9-​Lives cat food fame) being groomed. We went off to take care of some errands to attend to in the meantime and to pass the time while waiting.
Now about the 15% discount card for first-​timers we got from our vet’s office. It was only good for a year commemorating their first year of business which started in February 2012. The card was good for the year February 2013-​February 2014. It would have behooved them to have stated in small print that the card was good through February 2014. Bummers. Coco did give us a discount since we heard about them through our vet’s office and we were first-​time customers. Whew! I was quite delighted as we have been searching for a groomer for our little guy. And I really wanted Tails A Go-​Go to be The One.
We didn’t get a call and so we rang them up as to whether or not he was ready to be picked up. We were told Bianco was ready to be returned and picked up by us. And I was told that he looked really beautiful. Well, we were on our way. The Mother was eager to get her little boy back and I was quite eager to get my little buddy back. When we walked in, we saw two little white poodle type dogs being groomed. I saw Coco reaching down in the kennel holding area to get our guy for us.
Oh. My. Gosh. When he walked in, I could not believe it – was that really our Bianco?! It was like getting a brand new dog all right! I was so happy I could see his beautiful eyes at last without combing his hair back so much. And he was so happy to see us. The Mother was quite pleased and happy with the results and what a great job they did. She had a similar reaction when she saw our guy. Coco told us that Bianco was very good and very well behaved.
And as Bianco is The Mother’s dog, I regret I cannot put up any before and after pictures here on my Unilocal!review. Yet, the pictures here on Unilocal,on Tails A Go-Go’s website and on their Facebook page speak volumes of their work for themselves. We will be back, we – and Bianco – were fortunate to have found through our vet’s office Tails A Go-​Go.
And as for Bianco – for him – Tails A Go-​Go is THE One. He will happily Go-​Go back to Tails A Go-​Go.
