I loved Teter’s so much and they were my #1 campground destination of choice through all my mid-​Atlantic kayaking years. (Live in California now.)
As I woman, I especially loved the bathrooms, and Ralph worked tirelessly on Cheat Festival weekend to keep them clean and functional. (Hard to do with hundreds in their campground.)
Ralph, Kathy and their amazing parrot Tarzan are all featured in Chapter 9 of RiverRun: Adventures on the Edge of Enlightenment.

Teter’s Campground is very highly recommended. Ralph Teter (aka Ranger Ralph) is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. The campsite are awesome — located along the Cheat River. Each site has a nice fire ring and a picnic table in great condition. The shower facilities are outstanding. The price can’t be beat. I know I am looking forward to spending time @ Teter’s Campground again…
