I only happened upon this place when my car was leaking some unknown fluid in the parking lot across the street. I pulled in, and had the mechanic take a peek. He proclaimed nothing wrong, just some overspill from a recent job I’d had done, and even washed out the engine. And then sent me away without a bill.
That was 5 years ago. Since then I’ve sent friends for jobs from oil changes to full maintenance overhauls (they just don’t do transmissions or exhaust). Every single time they’ve been accomodating, reasonable, and even friendly through all the engine grease and grime. The waiting area is as bad as it gets — two grimy chairs and no coffee, but really… I’d rather have this than 4-​star gourmet lounge and get overcharged (hello, dealership!).
Mike is the main mechanic and he’s a businessman worth keeping around — go to him instead of Midas, and keep your dollars local.
