Was going to purchase a Carnage mask for Halloween but wanted to try it on to make sure it fit properly. The manager aka«head bitch in charge» promptly and very rudely came over & told us we weren’t allowed to try on the masks. How are you going to find out if you’re head fits properly if you don’t try it on before purchasing? I personally don’t want to buy something I haven’t made sure look right before I spend my money on it. Needless to say we did not buy the mask and walked out right after speaking to her. I’d rather spend my money somewhere I’m treated with respect than somewhere I’m treated like a disobedient child. The manager needs to get that stick out of her ass!

KInd of a schizophrenic store, but very fun to gawk and look around. They carry both used and new merchandise. I ended up buying a gently used book on bread baking. Layout is a little confusing, but it is worth taking your time and seeing as much weird stuff as possible. I don’t know anywhere else that you can by guitar strings(and very crappy under 100 $ guitars), comic books and action figures,(new and used) books+dvds,+cd’+ records, magazines, conversation piece T– Shirts, Tween do dad’s, stuff for your dog, Juggalo ware(in case you wanted some fresh gear for this years gathering), spencer’s like drinking game supplies, and stoner lighting. If you are in the market for some classic science fiction or a industrial grade liquor funnel, and some funky tunes– this is your one stop shop. Used books, cd’s and dvd’s are very affordable. For those of you unfamiliar with Juggalo’s they are a rare species of human that run in packs. They listen solely to the music of insane clown posse, and consume mass quantities of Fago orange soda. For a good laugh google the gathering of the Juggalo’s.

The store is a lot nicer since the remodel /rebranding into a Spencer’s superstore.

Hastings offers, books, magazines and videos. I am currently sitting in the café(Hardback Café), I am on my second cup of coffee. Started with Costa Rican roast now drinking Jamaica Me Crazy and I am feeling a little crazy. Very friendly staff. Excellent brewed coffee selection. Large coffee is $ 1.85 and you get to choose from 3 – 4 types. I had a large white chocolate macadamia nut cookie only $.99. Comfortable couches, relaxed unhurried atmosphere. Free wifi. Magazines and books for purchase. Video rentals. Gifts available too. Curb appeal is low but once inside it is good experience. I would recommend over Starbucks and even Satelitte. Check it out for yourself. Let me if you liked it.
