I have ate at Mac’s for the last 20 years. All the originals have closed. There is one left on Menaul near Carlisle. The food is not the same. They use different meat and the Steak Fingers are a generic version of the original Mac’s. I’m so disappointed. The new owner changed the recipe and it’s not as good as it used to be.

I am not giving Mac’s five stars because the food is the best stuff on the face of the planet. However, Mac’s holds a certain place in most Burqueno’s hearts. Mac’s is a tradition. Locally owned and operated and honestly what you see is what you get. Although most of the Mac’s locations have been shut down the one on Manuel has been remodeled and doesn’t look like the sketchiest place to eat in all of New Mexico anymore! Your food comes in a cute box filled with joy and childhood memories complete with a roll, cole slaw, an onion, fries, and weird ass strips of meat, which you coat with as much gravy and ketchup and shove it in your mouth and wait till the grease hits your stomach and explodes. It’s a weird and comforting feeling while you sit there gnawing on your awesome strips of greasy meat and fluffy fries. However, I couldn’t imagine my life without this awesome comfort food. Oh how I love thee! Also, they have some bomb ass malts. Just remember, this isn’t five star cuisine or McDonalds, it’s just Mac’s, so get it expecting that and enjoy the heck out of it!

Totally love the food here and pretty much wish they had one in every city on the planet. Please bring one to AZ :)

Oh how I miss Mac’s. I crave this place at least once a week and have thought about paying someone to ship it to me in dry ice. Yes, it is really that good. The fries, the meat, the cole slaw and the fresh green onion they always place in your meal. So good, so very yummy.
