Sandia Peak Inn

We had a great time staying at this motel. Me and two other friends were able to stay in a room with three queen size beds. The room was really large and the shower was one of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel, very powerful. The owner Kay is a very sweet and hardworking lady, she checked us in at 1.30am and gave us a discount for arriving late. At 9 in the morning, she was already preparing breakfast for us. She made waffles and made sure everything was ok. I would definitely stay here again if I pass through Albuquerque. Thank you Kay, we had a great stay!

I love this place – the fact that it’s economical is just the beginning. You will also find a personable owner, indoor pool, great free breakfast, and fenced parking lot. The outdoor deco is quaint, and the housekeeping staff do a first rate job.
You want more? There is a spare shower in the women’s room next to the breakfast room in case your big group needs it. The rooms are spacious, with wifi, fridge, comfortable beds, etc. The inn has easy access in/​out of Albuquerque, too.

This hotel popped up with great reviews. It was very easy on and off interstate 40. We got in late and a great clean room was waiting for us. A wonderfully comfortable king bed. The room was a suite with a couch and chairs, a desk, fridge, microwave. It included a large flat screen TV with HD channels. It was very roomy for a nostalgic Route 66 motel. We loved it including the continental breakfast. We will definitely stay here again. But I’ll call directly to book.

Great hotel in a great location! Room was very clean. We were upgraded to a king sized suite at no additional cost. Staff was very friendly. Call to get the best rate and availability. Free breakfast from 7 – 9. Indoor pool seemed nice, although we didn’t use it. Absolutely no complaints and will definitely stay here again. A very nice find on Route 66!

This was a very nice place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was somewhat small but I have a feeling this was an older hotel but couldn’t really tell because it has been well maintained. The lady at the front was very nice and made checking in quick. I think she could tell we were extremely tired. It was hard gerrymandered no in and out of the parking lot and the surrounding area was sketchy looking.

Extremely satisfied with my stay! Great location! Local ownership gives the place a homey feeling. The owners are extremely friendly and obliging. Next time I stop through Albuquerque I know where I’m headed for accommodations. Quite luxurious for the price and had a fantastic and peaceful sleep as I am a very light sleeper. Thanks guys!!! :)

What a pleasant night! This place is a little «off the beaten path» but definately worth the effort to get here! From the ease of booking on-​line to the warm welcome at the check-​in desk, to the clean and inviting linens and bed, the large wall-​mounted tv, sturdy furniture for placing your bags, newer bathroom fixtures… this place is clean and a refreshing stop along the way! Free wi-​fi, a nice free breakfast… what more could you ask for?!!

The first establishment that came up after a quick «hotel» search on Unilocal was Sandia Peak inn. Called immediately and was greeted by a friendly lady who said there were plenty of rooms available. We ended up going there and the friendly lady at the front upgraded us to a suite at the same cost as a normal room (we came in fairly late). The room was incredibly clean and free wifi was awesome! This sort of customer service at a motel blew my mind and I have to let the travels and residents of New Mexico know about this gem.

A nice room in a convenient place for a good price. There’s a bus stop right out front as well. The service was lovely– the front desk staff made us feel comfortable right away when we arrived after hours. The breakfast was somewhat limited but otherwise everything was great.

Excellent, very clean, good value. We will stay here again when traveling through Albuquerque. The lady who owns this business was very friendly and helpful. She greeted us as we departed.

So glad we found this place! The great reviews were correct. Stayed here one night on a road trip down route 66 with a girlfriend. We felt safe here. It was very clean. We slept great, the price was very fair and the location was great. Highly recommended. We will stay here again when we return to Albuquerque. Thank you!

This place deserves your money. It is one of the best values in Albuquerque. It’s very well maintained and reflects the manager’s pride in her establishment. Even though it’s in the older part of town, it has a nice fenced-​in courtyard and it’s very well lit.
The WiFi works, the cable works, and the TV is large.
Where else have you had a manager say she was available ²⁴⁄₇? You will be glad you chose to stay.
Final: I took back one star because of traffic noise. Central Ave is busy and the noise may bother some people.
Tip: Try Empanadas Mexican Grill down the street for tacos.

I got there late on a monday night and it was so quiet it seemed closed. I rang the bell and the receptionist was very welcoming.
She gave me and my boyfriend a spacious room. It was a cute, clean room.
There was a decent spread for breakfast.
I knocked a star because our door was really difficult to open and close, it was jammed. Otherwise the experience was very nice.

Great value. Clean, simple, and nice service. We stayed one night on a long road trip and had no issues. Comfortable king bed– not too hard or soft, perfect after a long day of driving.
If I had to give one area to make it absolutely perfect is better bath towels in the room (I love my showers!)…

It’s amazing how much the front desk person can colour your motel visit, but it’s often your first impression that holds the most sway. From the outside, Sandia Peak Inn looks like a basic 70s motel in the valley, any valley. Altho the décor may be timely, it’s clean, comfortable and reasonably priced (about $ 60 for a week night), but that’s not why I’m giving it five stars. Kay, the front desk lady when I checked in, is why I’m giving it five stars. She was helpful, funny and made a one nighter (plus breakfast the next morning 7 to 9) a pleasure. The motel features large, well equipped (mini fridge, microwave, iron & board, etc.) rooms with a big screen TV and lots of channels. Their fast, secure wifi keeps you internet smart and even parking is easy and plentiful. The good vibe Kay started me off with, made my Sandia Peak Inn experience one I highly recommend if you’re in Albuquerque and wanna do it old school.
UPDATE — went down for the breakfast and once again had the pleasure of seeing Kay and all of her breakfast offerings; waffles, english muffins, hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, sweet buns juices and more. I will definitely stay here again.

Sandia Peak Inn is a great value for a motel.
On a road trip to Texas, my kids and I spent the night. The owner was friendly and helpful at check in. We chatted for a few minutes after she had finished getting me registered and delivering me my keys. One of the best things about local businesses can be personal care and I got it here.
At check in, we were able to get a room upgrade to a slightly larger suite. The extra space was great for my boys who had a bit of extra energy after the day in the car. The room was perfectly clean. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. Having a large mini-​fridge was nice for keeping bottled water cool during the night.
Overall, we enjoyed our time here even if it was brief.

After a long day of driving from Phoenix I was happy to check into Sandia Peak Inn. The room was clean, the shower was great and the staff was incredibly friendly and nice.
We noticed the room was a bit warm and called the front desk. Immediately they switched us out to the room next door which made it easy since I had begun to unpack. On the way back to Phoenix from Taos we decided to stay here last minute. It was rather late when we called but they were able to accommodate us for the night.
I would recommend Sandia Peak Inn to anyone staying in Albuquerque for the night.
