Our Mission To deliver quality early childhood services that develop the «Whole Child,» using learning experiences in the areas of physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative development, in a safe, stimulating learning environment.

SpringStone Montessori School is nationally accredited through NECPA, and holds a 5 star rating in the state of New Mexico. Teachers are trained and accredited in Montessori. The environment is safe with low student/​teacher ratios. Hot lunch, breakfast and snacks are included. Before and after school care is provided at no additional charge. SpringStone Montessori Schools are family owned and have been in continuous operation for 37 years. The founder is the author and publisher of Animalations books for language development.

SpringStone Randolph in Albuquerque, NM is now enrolling from ages 6 weeks through 6 years.

History

Established in 1978.

The first SpringStone Montessori School opened in 1978 in Grand Junction, Colorado. The schools expanded to four states over the next 37 years. Montessori curriculum and materials were incorporated immediately. SpringStone Montessori Schools has been in continuous operation by Patricia Derrick and her family. Today, six SpringStone Montessori Schools are operated by the same family in New Mexico and Nevada.

Meet the Business Owner

Patricia Derrick D.

Business Owner

Founder, Patricia Derrick hold a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Utah, teaching in the public schools, University of Utah and Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado. Patricia Derrick is the author and publisher of Animalations books, a result many years of working with children in her schools, finding new ways to develop language and reading skills. Animalations books have an original song that sings the words in the text of the book. When children learn the song, they can read along in the book, even if they are pre-​readers. Patricia holds 16 national awards for her books.
