I just moved in town and was walking around the UNM campus. Found this place and was welcomed warmly. I made the mistake of not looking at the hours because they close from 2:30 –5:00 pm to prepare for dinner. I came in at 2:20 but the lady who I assume as the owner was very kind and let me dine anyway. I order the Vietnamese spring rolls and the Pad see yew and it was very good. The pad see yew was sweeter and lighter than what I was used to but was delicious nonetheless. I am definitely coming back!

I’m a simple kind of girl, I go to a Thai restaurant to order pineapple fried rice. Sometimes I change it up, but that is my go to meal. Boring some would say, but that’s ok! This world needs boring to even out the extravagant. Anyways, I stumbled upon this restaurant through a friend suggestion. I don’t live anywhere close by, but if it’s good, I’m willing to travel the distance. It’s tucked away on a side street from central right by university. Some parking along the side of the building and also street parking. I tried their Thai Iced Tea and that was delicious, and it is served in a large tall glass. My table got an order of chicken spring rolls for an app, mmm they were fresh and served with a plum sauce that was nice and sweet, I sprinkled chile flakes on mine to make it sweet and spicy. It’s 3 that they cut in half, and either chicken or vegetable. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with highest level of spicy. It came out steaming fresh and hot. Large plate for only 7 bucks! Comes with chicken and shrimp(I just asked for no shrimp due to allergy). Perfect amount of fried rice, chicken, cashews, pineapple and spicy-ness. Table of 3, with 3 Thai teas, 1 appetizer and 3 entrees was only $ 35. Sorry I was so excited about this meal that I forgot to take lots of pictures, and that I’m rambling on. But that’s how good this place really is. Small business that seems to be doing well for many years, and I wish only the best for Thai house. Great service as well. Our server was real attentitive, knowledgeable about the product, and a true enjoyment to my dining experience. I will be making the 45 minute drive to come here again, and I recommend anyone else that if they have time to relax and have a great meal, to come check this place out

Went there for a quick lunch during a trip in ABQ. The inside of the restaurant has a very THAI feeling to me which is awesome. I ordered the red curry with chicken which was yummy and my friend got the pad thai which he said it was slightly too sweet to him compare to those he ate in NY. But overall we did enjoy the food.

Ambiance really means nothing to me… if the food is good. I was expecting an authentic experience upon visiting this little hole in the wall. Having spent time in Thailand I truly appreciate good Thai cuisine; although sometimes it can be «Americanized» I’ve found decent Thai food here in Albuquerque. This was not the case at Thai House. I found the restaurant itself dirty and dingy, and both the Pad Thai and Pad Siew were not appetizing. They were comprised of a handful of noodles in a brown room temperature gravy. This hole in the wall was a flop. I truly wonder how they stay in business.

Ordered pad thai and a curry dish. The noodles were dry and both dishes tasted burnt. I was looking forward to a delicious flavorful meal and ended up very disappointed.

I know it’s mean to give one star but this was the worst restaurant experience. We sent our food back. It was that bad.

Came in for the lunch special… nothing special about it. Grumpy service. At the end of my meal I opened the fortune cookie to a fortune that read«you are about to be $ 8.95 poorer!» Indeed.

Inexpensive and food reflects the price. Had spring rolls and tofu with broccoli. Sauce on tofu dish was bland and used copious cornstarch for thickening. Spring roll was inoffensive but nothing special. Not terribly clean and they had someone spraying for bugs in the dining area while we ate lunch.

My wife and I took a two day trip to ABQ to do some shopping and just for something to do. I saw the reviews here and we decided to give it a try. When we first pulled up we were leary, but we’ve seen worse exteriors. The inside was kinda neat, and it was clean, cloth napkins, woo hoo… LOL I had the Green Curry and my wife had Pad Thai. We both really enjoyed our meals. Lucky for me my wife couldn’t finish all her’s so I got to enjoy it also. Just an all around down home good eatin’ kind of place!

Another dive, but the food is great! When you first walk up to this place it looks like it might be closed, or even condemned, but once you pass through the door it looks a little better. I was here with a group of 8. We were seated immediately at lunch time on a Wednesday. We ordered a variety of dishes and were served within fifteen minutes even though there were several other small groups in the restaurant. All the dishes were good, including the Pad Thai. Pay at the counter. I’ll definitely be back.

Got take out the other day from this place. I would ideally give 3.5 stars. Thai house is Right in the heart of UNM dinning so prices are low for decent portions. Service on the phone was very pleasant and helpful(which can be rare nowadays!). Storefront is quaint seats maybe 25 – 30 people. Had the yellow curry with tofu mild and a mussaman curry with chicken medium. Flavors were only OK weren’t as bold as I was expecting, sauce a bit watery. Also no green bell peppers in my curry as was listed in the menu entry, but the otjer veggies and protein were cooked well though. I will try again this time not a curry dish to see if their cooking is worth a second look since their service was so pleasant.

The three and half stars is about right. You get what you pay for but this place used to be better but its always been hit or miss. tonight I ordered red curry with chicken and a side of fried veggie rolls. The curry was watery and less spicy than I expected. The rolls were fine. If you’re on a budget it’s worth a try. Otherwise i’d hit up Thai Cuisine 2 or Thai Orchid down the street. Although service at Thai Orchid can be downright rude and terrible but their food is good.

Very much like dining with a very warm Thai family. Service was amazing, food was excellent. I had the Pad Thai and the Panang Curry both were perfect. I will be back!

Even with all of the fancier Thai places in town, this place has remained my favorite. I love that they make everything from scratch. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but it’s because of their authentic recipes and preparation. My favorites include the Tom Yum Goong soup(best hangover or cold cure!) and the Chef’s Special Pineapple Curry. Today I tried the sweet rice and mango dessert and it was delightful. Service has always been a bit questionable, but seems to have improved lately.(I almost miss the loud family discussions in Thai during dinner service, but hey…) I spoke to the owner a while today and she says people have gotten used to the taste of processed and pre-made Asian food. If you want that, go elsewhere. This place has the feel and taste of eating at someone’s home in Thailand.

Have never had a bad meal here. With proximity to downtown, campus and Nob Hill, it’s a great cheap place for lunch. I’m not a spicy food person so I always order medium on plates with spice. I’ve never seen it packed in here but don’t let that deter you. I just overheard another customer send something back because she thought it was too salty, they let her order something else completely.

I have been eating at the Thai House approximately every 4 – 6 months since it was introduced to me about 7 years ago. I tend to get the same dishes(#32 the Pad See-Eau and the Vietnamese Spring Rolls are my favs), and they are always tasty. I have been to Thailand, and the food at the Thai House is indicative of what you would find in someone’s house in Thailand where the atmosphere is a little rundown while warm and welcoming.

Ok, so this food looked and smelled amazing! Fresh, and popping with spices, fresh veggies, curry, and fragrant jasmine rice. My bad that I ordered it hot like a certain someone on Unilocal!recommended. I ordered the green curry and owwww it is so hot I can’t eat it because it makes my tongue throb with pain. The flavor profile is really great though and I love that the tofu isn’t fried. I’ll have to go back and get it at a lesser spice level next time so that it’s edible. Thanks for the tips, to those of you that recommended this place!

Some may question my decision to have Thai food in Albuquerque, but I was craving Pad See-Eaw, and Thai House had been recommended to me, so I went with it… and I wasn’t disappointed! I ordered my food to go, and when I went to pick it up, I noted that the restaurant appeared to be a little shanty from the outside… and the inside too! I was the only patron, but it was late when I arrived. It’s worth noting that they sell some quirky gifts inside as well as serving food. In addition to Pad See-Eaw(#32 on the menu) with extra broccoli, I ordered the Vietnamese Rolls(#4 on the menu) as an appetizer. This was way too much food for one person, but I made a good effort and did pretty well with it. It wasn’t the best Thai Food I’ve ever had, but I found both dishes fresh. I admit — the Pad See-Eaw was a tad bit on the greasy side, but I still enjoyed it, and the peanut sauce that came with the appetizer wasn’t as flavorful as I’ve had elsewhere. Prices were moderate and service was friendly enough. While I may try some other Thai places in ABQ before heading back to Thai House, I’d give it another shot for sure.

I’m dogging this place of one star because of the notoriously poor service, but that’s recently changed, they’ve hired and over the past couple months I’ve had a fantastic experience at the Thai House. Visit their website and you’ll learn about the heritage of the cuisine these people serve. They’re legit, the recipes are authentic. Still, be selective about what you order. Like any family restaurant some of the offers are magically perfect, while others fail to impress. If you want an appetizer head for the Vietnamese spring rolls, some of the best in the city, they won’t disappoint; the chicken sa-thea is a downer. As for entrees don’t be shy, but in my opinion ordering Pad Thai – theirs is lovely – is akin to ordering Kung Pao/Gong Bao in a Chinese joint, a somewhat boring peanut and rice noodle concoction which caters to the American tongue. Why not try a salad, like Yum Nue, which pairs grilled beef with onions, tomato and lime juice? Or my absolute favorite, Musmun curry, a hearty potato dish soaked in coconut milk. Regardless, here’s your essential rule: order it HOT. If you can’t handle spicy try the Pad Prik, veggie-enhanced, yummy. This place is an off-the-beaten-path gem, a family owned mainstay in Albuquerque, fairly priced and comfortable for large parties – but make reservations. If you want vegetarian, head to Thai Vegan, another awesome find with fake shrimp which passes the consistency test. Overall, Asian dining choices in the Duke CIty are endless. Enjoy.
