Absolute worst dining experience on our trip to NM. Was seated and served greasy chips(salsa is good). Was hungry and asked for more, told it would cost $ 2. No thank you. After 10 minutes bar order came, WRONG. Sent it back. Manager came and asked us if we wanted chips, we said no because we did not want to pay. She brought us some more greasy chips at no charge. Food came. Ordered steak burrito, served chicken. Others were correct. Food was fair. Was the problems with the cook staff or server? Not going back, ever. Went to contact them using their Web site, contact page does not work.

Really? I’ve spent a little time in airports over the years and the expectation is usually not high. Tia Juanita’s is really fitting into that airport category. The service was incredibly slow, thankfully we were just killing time before my husband left on a flight. We ordered the guacamole and the first question was if we wanted it prepared or ready to mix. I guess that could be a valid option if you have allergies but it seemed like a really strange concept to be sitting at a restaurant making your own guacamole. The guac needed some serious flavor including salt and some sort of heat. Super bland might work for the Midwest, but here in New Mexico we want to taste our food. We also ordered iced tea and it was really weak due to the ice melting in the pitchers placed all over the restaurant. It’s pretty tough to mess up iced tea but they managed. I don’t think think we’ll try this one again and opt for the other pre-security option.

Damn fine burrito! I stopped and picked up a beef and bean burrito and it was surprisingly good. Much better than most airport food. This thing is so massive I could only eat half. A burrito can definitely be split and shared by two moderately hungry people. The price is the only thing $ 12 + bucks for a burrito and drink. Service was good and customer service was nice. Well done. I will be trying the Chile Con Queso chips next time.

Green chili soup very salty. Salsa was odd — Like stewed tomatoes and green peppers. Swept and mopped around me as i ate, getting dust and stale mop smells into the air. Staff friendly.

I’ve only eaten breakfast here, I’ve had several different dishes though. Like others have said, for the airport it is real good, if it was in the outside world it is still decent but not the same levels as MANY competitors. The staff has been great for me each time though!

Had low expectations for food court burrito. It looked I exciting. Initial bite wasn’t t great. The filling tasted like bean mush. After a bit it grew on me. The green chili had a nice kick. It ended up being okay and exceeded my expectations. Not worth the price though.

I’m baffled at the poor reviews. My meal was fantastic. I’m always excited to visit the southwest and the food is a big reason why. This restaurant provided excellent food and drinks, with a great atmosphere, and friendly staff. When you consider it’s location inside an airport, it’s definitely a pleasant surprise. I ordered the portabello burrito enchilada and a pink margarita. Flavors were on point and way beyond my expectations for airport food. When you need a meal at ABQ’s airport, this is the place to go.

Food is good but don’t be in a hurry. For a take away place it seems to take a while to get food out

Airport breakfast burrito and Mexican Coke for $ 12.79. I’m all for making a buck, but man that feels like it should be illegal somehow. Anyhoooooo. The burrito itself, as others have said, is not bad for airport food. In the«outside world» it would be fair-to-middling at best. The burrito is loaded with, basically, mashed potatoes and then the sausage, green chile, etc is a condiment to those. It was filling, but not particularly satisfying. Extra star because the staff were really nice and warm.

Breakfast burritos typically loaded heavy with salt. Seems to be a pattern. Maybe they’ll get enough complaints and change their cooking approach. I regularly travel out of the sunport and now find other breakfast options.

Worst burrito ever. This one is beyond the security check point and right around A1 gate. I got a chicken burrito in a lunch bowl. Chicken smelled like chicken that is not properly treated, super bland, half the dish was lukewarm and the another half was just cold. There was just no flavor! I got green chili on the side which helped me to finish about the half, but I couldn’t really go any further. The cashier was very friendly, but that’s about it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This place is basically the only place at the Sunport to grab a breakfast burrito on your way out of town. We skipped through before an early morning flight, and were pleasantly surprised at the service and food. We shared a breakfast burrito with chile on the side, and it was pretty good! The green chile was flavorful, the bacon was crisp, and the eggs weren’t slimy. Definitely a solid option if you’re looking for a meal here.

A pleasant surprise of an airport restaurant. The menu has a wide range of Mexican standard, and several vegetarian options, with most entrees coming in under $ 12. While not the best Mexican food in town, it was surprisingly good for an airport. The complementary chips were fresh made. The hibiscus margarita and the ancho chocolate cake were yum and worth the caloric intake. The hostess and server were both pleasant, and the server was helpful in helping me choose which of several veg-friendly entrees to order(a cheese enchilada and chili rellebo combo plate).

Worst margarita of life– way too sweet! The bartender was very accommodating and remade it for me a couple times and provided limes and soda to dilute, but i think the agave in this cocktail recipe makes this drink more syrup-ey. What it needs is fresh lime juice to make it tart and refreshing. Could not finish more than a few sips. The bartender was kind enough to plug in our phone chargers and checked in with us frequently. Sopapillas(chicken, ground beef and pork) were OK– apparently bread is made and rolled in house. The bread had a good texture, the chicken had the best flavor. The bill for 2 – 3 beers, 2 margaritas, sopapilla sliders and a cup of green chili soup ran us a check in the $ 60 range– overpriced if you ask me.

I think Quinn A. nailed it with her review of Tia Juanitas: Mediocre in the outside world, solid for an airport option(at least in this particular airport). Plenty of room to unwind. No, really, you won’t be backing your chair up into anyone as this is a full restaurant! Plus it’s perfect for catching up with local friends before the security checkpoint — Which is exactly what I did with my ABQ friends, the amazing Marissa and James H. The complimentary chips and salsa were just alright. We shared the shredded beef nachos(more like a freaking mountain): Chips, meat, pico, jalapeños, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and of course a side of green chile because I’m a crackhead for it. It was decent for airport food, plus I was starving after working all day! A giant pint of Santa Fe Pale Ale never disappoints! Marissa ordered a Bloody Maria, but we’ll let her detail that in her own review. :) I would definitely stop in again before a flight home to Phoenix.

Considering it is airport food, it was fantastic! It was made quickly, overpriced as all hell(because…airport…duh), and delicious! I got a beef and cheese quesadilla and a churro. I did not need that churro. but man was it tasty! The quesadilla was stuffed to the gills with the tasty fillings. Beef and cheese and green chile. It was huge. I couldn’t finish it. But it was super tasty. Highly recommended if you find yourself hungry in the Sunport!

Beautiful hibiscus margaritas for a big price. Excellent service. Although I did not try the food, it did not look remarkable.

Place is in the food court inside of security. I come here for my breakfast burrito when I am travelling out of Albuquerque. Green or red chile is part of the burrito.
