The service on the floor was exceptional, I will go back here on this reason alone. Unfortunately I had to visit this store a few times on the same day because I was kinda winging my current project, but that was my own definitely not the employee who graciously helped me each time.
The cashiers weren’t the same way, but there could be different variables to that not necessarily a terrible thing, I’ll find out the trend the next time I go back.

I love this hardware store! It’s truly a throwback to an era before big box hardware stores when employees had the knowledge and experience to guide your projects. It’s very apparent that the employees at this story have pride in what they do and are very eager and willing to help you get the right tools and equipment for the job. There is no need to press a button for help and wait for someone to come to your isle because you’ll be greeted as you first walk in and that greeter will be your guide until you checkout. I am also very impressed at how neat and tidy the store is – this is also an indication of how much pride the owners and employees have. Sure, the selection is not going to be what you find at Lowe’s or Home Depot but I’ll take a slightly limited selection with boosted customer service any day. This True Value offers a military discount and they have plenty of coupons and deals. Just sign up for their mailer. I’ll be back!

Is Lowes/​Home Despot cheaper? maybe. Are things easier to find there? doubtful. Does the owner come over and personally help you find what you are looking for, measure the bolt thread pitch/​size you need, and write it down in case you need another one later and have no idea what size it is? Don’t think they do that at the box stores but apparently that’s the accepted level of service here, wow. Call me a fan, was pretty darn stoked to find not only what I needed but to be taken care of like that, I’ll gladly pay .50c more to have that kind of service. Really love it when that happens, as it’s so rare nowadays, glad to frequent a place that still values service for the locals. Considering it’s just around the corner from my house, I just might frequent it even more now that I know! I’d say it’s like green eggs and ham, if you try it, I’m sure you’ll like the NE True Value :D
