I’m not sure why there are a lot of bad reviews but our family loves this group of doctors and the staff. Friendly and dependable. Never had to wait long for an appointment. We travel from DC to attend this office.

I’m shocked at the number of bad reviews here– so much so that I felt compelled to counter them, despite rarely writing reviews myself. We’ve been bringing our kids here since they were born. Everyone has been friendly, competent, and on-​time. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes to see a doctor when we have an appointment. The doctors have all been wonderful, really balancing common sense against more extreme measures, taking their time with us, and not making us feel rushed or stupid for asking questions. The people at the front desk are very helpful too. We recently had a lot of medical paperwork for our kids for my husband’s job, and they really went above and beyond getting it back to us quickly. They’re very good about even little things like always reminding us to validate our parking. The call center is a tad slow to answer calls, and one of their call center receptionists is less than great, but it’s a minor inconvenience when weighed against all the positives. I even love how quiet the waiting room is, with a big fish tank and books (all labeled sick and well, on different sides) instead of TVs or toys. And most importantly, our kids like going there. That says a lot. We recommend them to new parents we meet, and we know a lot of people who use them and are as happy as we are. I guess the bad reviews here are just a case of a happy silent majority.

The doctors are great, but the wait times are ridiculous. I was the first person in the office for a walk-​in appointment on a Tuesday morning. We waited more than 30 minutes in the exam room to see the doctor… for the first appointment of the morning! Unfortunately, this is experience is rather common at this location. It’s one thing to wait as an adult, but with ill children, there has to be a better way for the practice to manage these wait times. So disappointing.

The care here is OK but seems to have gone downhill a lot in the past year. My kids usually see Dr. Sullivan. The past few times we’ve been there, we’ve had to wait anywhere from 30 – 60 minutes past our appointment time for him to see us.
On one recent visit, after the exam he said the nurse would be in to give the vaccines. It took the nurse over 30 minutes to come in with the vaccines, and only after I asked several times where the nurse is, as if they forgot about us.
Another time recently we came in for flu vaccine and after signing in, we sat in the waiting room for over 30 minutes before asking why we hadn’t been called, and again it seemed they just forgot about us.
Most recently we came on time for the appointment and waited almost a full hour for the doctor to see us, and then he was in and out within 5 minutes and didn’t address any of the issues I listed on the forms that I wanted to talk about.
In none of these cases was there any acknowledgement by the doctor or nurses that we had been made to wait significantly longer than we should have, and certainly got no apology for it.
Another problem I have with their practice is that if you have an after-​hours urgent issue and need to talk to the doctor, you have to pay to be connected to an after-​hours nurse service, and then if you need to talk to the doctor I believe you have to pay an additional fee.
I raised this issue with them that it’s unusual for a medical practice to charge their patients for an after-​hours emergency phone call but they said something along the lines of they don’t work for free and everyone is doing this. Sorry but no other doctor I’ve ever used charges a fee for after hours phone calls. I don’t consider it free — I consider it as part of the thousands of dollars a year that I and my insurance pay to be an established patient.

Terrible!!! Hate you can never talk to a doctor on the phone. Really annoying the «nurse» line is just people reading from a book. And really really hate my child was misdiagnosed TWICE with a terrible strep infection. Finally went for second opinion somewhere else, was immediately diagnosed with strep, put on an antibiotic, and fine within 24 hours. How can a pediatrician miss a strep infection?!? Seems like a common kid illness.
My son is four months and had a terrible rash on his neck. I brought him in and it was quickly diagnosed as chub rub. It got worse and I went back two days later. By then his tear duct was red and his throat raspy. Again, I was told it was chub rub. He’ll grow out of it, said the doc. And don’t worry about his eye. Well, the next day we were on day four and his neck was so gross it made me cry. Took him to another place and doc took one glance and said instantly it looks like strep. She checked his ears and throat, which she said both looked a bit pussy. (All Peds had looked at them twice and said they were fine.) Cultured his neck. Yep, strep. We will never go back to All Peds and can’t believe they can still be in business. I’m embarrassed and ashamed I let them lead me so astray.
Don’t go to this pediatrician!!! Should not be practicing!

I’m pretty surprised at all the bad reviews, we’ve had mostly excellent experiences with All Peds. I have 2 kids (4 and 2) and we’ve been with the practice since my older son was about 8 weeks old. We have seen Dr. Rosenbaum (now at the Lorton office), Dr. Park, Dr. Peng, Dr. Balisteri, Dr. Lundgren and Linda Hestvik (NP) and they’ve all been great. I really like Dr. Park and Dr. Peng a lot. They are very thorough. Dr. B is very reassuring and has a great bedside manner. I find them all to be a good balance of treating vs. the wait and see approach. I also generally do not feel rushed. The only exception has been one appointment with Linda Hestvik when she was clearly running very late, otherwise they are relatively on time and generally take plenty of time with you.

They did the mandatory initial examination of our newborn at the hospital. Our insurance should have covered it. After we kept getting bills we called them and Dayton/​Leighton Harris said he would resubmit the bill to insurance. Of course we keep getting bills so we called back. This time they couldn’t even locate our newborn’s name. After noticing a section of the bill that said «Baby Girl _​_​_​_​» I asked if it was under that. YES, it was. Someone actually thought and took the time to write down Baby as a first name and Girl as a middle name??? Now they want ME to come into their office to prove the name and fix their incompetence. Either these people are lazy/​don’t care or just plain stupid. I definitely would not trust bringing my baby here.

I took my sick daughter here for the first time today. It was so disorganized and no one talked to each other. The nurse practitioner who saw us was totally rushed and spent less than 10 minutes with us (if we were lucky) and was walking out the door before I could ask any questions. I didn’t have insurance for this appointment and when I made the appointment, I asked how much it would cost. They said $ 56. When I went to pay after the appointment they charged me $ 150 with no explanation other than I am a new patient and they cannot predict the costs. There was nothing done in the appointment other than listening to my daughter’s symptoms and taking her temperature. They said we were charged more because they spend twice as long with new patients, and we should feel lucky they saw us at all. I was furious but my very sick daughter needed to go home so I couldn’t fight it anymore. I will NOT be returning.

I really like most doctors at the practice, especially Dr. Peng, and Dr. Park. Peng is very good and comforting and remembered my son’s history very well. The nurses on the other hand are not great — they seem rushed and bothered to be doing the job. The worst part is the administration. I was told by the receptionist to call back for a new appointment because she was too busy with other patients at the time I was in the office to book an appointment for me. The after-​hours nurse hotline is horrible, charging $ 20 per call to give you information you can google up, and refusing to take messages for physicians. You have to call in for a referral but you never speak to a human being — you get a recorded message with a set of long instructions detailing the vm you have to leave for them so they can write a referral. Whoever is in charge of office operations in this place should probably be fired.

Love the doctors and nurses at this practice. We especially love Dr. Park. She is very thorough and understanding and takes the time to address every question or concerns and gives you a wealth of information. The walk in hour is especially helpful when you have a little one who is in daycare.

Rude rude rude rude rude!!! And HORRIBLE. If you want someone to take care of your children, go ANYWHERE else. Even CVS Minute Clinic is better than this place. From the receptionist (she sounds extremely put out to answer the phone… sorry you have to do YOUR job) to the doctors (rushed! forgot my son’s name! hello! wake up!) this is a bad place. My MOMS Club discussed how crappy this place was and I should have listened. BEWARE.

The doctors and nurses are very caring and seem to be very knowledgeable. the only downfall is the wait— it seems to take over an hour from your appointment time to the time that you actually see the doctor– which is hard when you have a 2 year old who is not happy to be running around already! But, once you see the doctors (and I have been happy with everyone of them that we have seen), they make the wait worthwhile.
