When I learned that Blue Buffalo wasn’t honest about their ingredients, I decided to switch to something healthy for my puppy and my cat. My dog walker had told me about this store and when I visited, I wasn’t disappointed. I came in and was greeted by two very friendly ladies. one of them being their on-​site nutritionist/​biologist Marilyn. I had already put in hours and hours into researching dog and cat food online, but I learned more in 20 minutes with Marilyn than with all my research combined. She helped me find the right diet for my growing puppy (a Belgian Malinois/​Border Collie mix) and my indoor cat. She told me, for example, that because Mals have deep chest cavities, it’s better to feed her twice a day than once or three. I also learned that I was measuring my dog’s food incorrectly.
There was no upselling and no pressure to buy… a rarity these days. The store isn’t big, but don’t let that fool you… they have a lot of variety and just seem to keep the visual inventory small. Overall, I would say their focus is on a more wholesome approach to animal health, so they carry the harder to find stuff like Planet Dog collars, toys that require your dog to think, treats that have one ingredient (like rock fish), etc. After talking to the staff there, you get the impression that they put a lot of research into everything they sell… they love dogs. They have a behaviorist there as well, I believe. I can’t recommend these guys enough and from now on, will not buy from anywhere else!
