Colasanto Anthony L, DDS

I’ve basically been going to Dr. Colasanto ever since I had teeth. Even after I moved out of my parents’ house in Alexandria into DC, I still hop on metro to go out there every six months. So I guess it’s hard to review objectively since I don’t have any comparison, but this is just my own experience with him.
I have always felt totally confident in his abilities, he doesn’t try to up-​sell you on any procedures or treatments, but he’ll talk to you candidly about the pros and cons if you ask him about various things. I don’t think he’s over-​casual. He’s casual but not unprofessional. He’ll take the time to answer your questions and he’ll take your concerns seriously.
No, there has not been any redecorating in years, but that doesn’t bother me. The office is clean and functional. Nothing is broken or peeling — just dated.
I’d probably really rate him a 4.5, but I think he’s close enough to a 5 that I will round up.

I’d give Dr. Colasanto a solid 3.5 stars. I like him and will stay with him. But I think he may be a bit too casual at times.
This dentist’s office is a blast from the past! All the equipment looks like it is from the 70’s, and they don’t even have water squirters for when they clean your teeth. Instead, after every quarter mouth, they raise you up in the chair, give you a cup of water to swish around, let you spit into this suction cup/​funnel thing, and then lower you back down.
The staff is nice but reserved. Dr. Colasanto is very friendly and jovial, he could be your grandpa, and I like that about him. He’s probably about 75 years old but he knows his stuff. The first time I came in, he checked my teeth, said I had a small cavity and then slapped me on the arm and said, «Do you want to take care of that now?» I liked his spontaneity and appreciated that I didn’t have to come back.
The downside is on my second visit, from the time I entered the office to the time I left the office, it was 14 minutes. This included cleaning and check-​up! So if you are interested in an in-​and-​out, quick and dirty, only stop you if there’s a rotting hole in your mouth visit, go here. I will continue to, as he is two blocks from my house.
