I have been in business for 25 years and work extensively in Alexandria, Arlington and throughout northern Virginia. Business Owner

Owner and Design Director Jan Bertin has won numerous design awards for her work. She has been honored by the American Society of Interior Design and has been named as Decorating Den’s’ Decorator of the Year. Her work has been widely published and she welcomes the opportunity to do more work in the Washington region the Bertin’s have called home for almost 20 years.

I recently had Jan and Lorin find fabrics for a sofa I wished to recover. The selection of fabrics was massive and virtually all of them met my criteria. It was so exciting seeing all the samples that I began to wish I had several sofas to recover, and fantasized about being an interior designer. They alerted me to the fabric wear rating — how well it would hold up with use. The sofa is now reupholstered and looks beautiful and like new. Well done.
Jan and Lorin are friendly people who easily made me feel comfortable. They are easy to work with, yet very professional. I highly recommend them.

Jan and Lorin run an incredible business. Jan’s design work shows throughout her home. She does a great job taking my wife’s wants and desires and pulling together the right furnishings, colors, and accessories. She even includes my needs in the designs. She holds religiously to budget and does a great job keeping the project running.
We recently did a large project and there was an instance where a mistake was made in color selection by either decorating den or the vendor. They could not determine where the problem occurred, but she arranged it such that it had no impact on us, the customer. No additional cost, and no additional time. She has a great relationship with her vendors, and all of the labor she uses has been exceptional.
