I’ve lived in the area for 14 years and Hollin Hall Automotive’s staff has always been helpful. Their work is always reliable and most importantly when they say your car will be finished it will.
They are a real asset to the Ft. Hunt community.

Took my nieces VW for an oil change 4 months ago. Dwayne told us the fan clutch was loose and should b replaced in a few months. We received a reminder from Hollin Hall Automotive. Took it in and the fan had cracked… got it just in time. Ron gave us a quote and we had the work done. When Ron called us to tell us it was ready, he also said the labor wasn’t as involved so the estimate would be reduced. Honest and great device! Can’t ask for anything more. We service all of our family cars. 2 Nissans, 1 Volvo, 1 Subaru, and soon we are adding a Jeep. Great family run business! m

Have been using this shop for years and am always satisfied. Courteous staff, clean work area, work completed on time and done well. The rewards program is easy to participate in and helps a lot in saving money.

Good work, reasonably priced, honest. You can trust them to do only the service that your car requires. Further, they will pick you up and drive you home while your car is being serviced.

Four months ago I ordered tires from Tire
to be installed at Hollin Hall Automotive. They called and scheduled an appointment as soon as the tires came in. They did a great job, the price was less expensive than most tire stores. One of my new tires got damaged, Tire Rack replaced the tire for Half Price and Hollin Hall replaced the tire, balanced it, cleaned and re-​stowed my spare tire, all in about 20 min, awesome! They will be my go to tire installers.

Service is very friendly and professional — they do a great job. I’d highly recommend!

This family owned and operated business has been the mainstay of our automotive maintenance and repair work now for 20 years. We’ve tried some other perhaps less expensive alternatives along the route one corridor from time to time but have kept coming back to Hollin Hall automotive for their dependability and reliable work. They don’t take any short-​cuts and are proud of the work they do. On their own initiate they always check warranty coverage and have surprised me many times saving me hundreds of dollars in repairs over the years. Their rewards program that saves us real cash too has been a really big help and makes them cost competitive with anyone else on the final analysis. Way to go Hollin Hall team!

I love Hollin Hall Auto! They are expensive, the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars but, they are thorough and have amazing customer service. They will pick you up and drop you off if you need it. They are good at explaining what’s going on with your car without talking down to you. They have a nice loyalty program with good coupons and reward checks. They are amazingly helpful and attentive, the place has been around for like 50 years and you feel like you’ve stepped back in time in a good way.

This place is the best! They picked me up and dropped me off at home while my car was serviced. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I had a coupon for an oil change– they honored it and offered to sign me up for their points system to get me more discounts. Their price on an oil change, tire patch, and freon fill up were better than jiffy lube! Couldn’t be happier!

Hollin Hall Automotive is very trustworthy. They don’t try to sell you work you don’t need. Everyone I’ve worked with is professional and courteous.

Sadly, when James left this business to work for Brown Mazda… it’s integrity went with Him. $ 224.00 to repair a «loose wire»? I’ll not be back.

I took my 2003 Jeep to Hollin Hall automotive yesterday. I want to counter two other reviews. The shop found that the repairs that would be needed would cost more than the car was worth. So unlike what another reviewer reported, they did not try to push any services or repairs on me. Also, I would like to respond to the reviewer who said that they overcharged and preyed on Waynewood housewives. I do live in Waynewood (but would not call myself a housewife since I work outside the home). They did not charge me anything to assess my vehicle! They even offered to help me if I chose to donate my vehicle. I would highly recommend Hollin Hall Automotive.

Very knowledgeable service staff, fair prices, prompt service. They have it all. Also, they work with Tire Rack; buy at the web site and just have the tires shipped to HHA. Very neighborhood place, honest folks.

After searching desperately for a reputable place to service my Saab, I’m very pleased to have found Hollin Hall! Marc (and company) was very reasonable, thorough, and trustworthy. Hollin Hall Automotive is definitely my go-​to spot.

If you know car repair and take a look in their shop, you’ll see that they spared no expense in getting the top equipment. A road force balancing machine for tires is real luxury. These guys get it done, and support the community while they are at it. Check out their donations to WePo and the neighborhood school fund raising. Keep their station looking nice also — real part of the community/​neighborhood.

Great service from the mechanics. I approached them with a problem I had tried to fix cheaply and messed up. They graciously bailed me out and even used the new part I already had. Car was on the lift for two days. The communication was well above average with twice daily status calls. Invoice came in under the estimate and they have me a military discount without me even bringing it up. They are my new go to mechanics.

Yesterday my battery light when on. I called Hollin Hall, and they took my van in right away. The alternator was going (so I would not have been able to drive it). They fixed it same day. You can count on the people at Hollin Hall Automotive to help you with any car problem if it is within their power.

Routine check up. Always use these guys for the work needed on my car from oil changes to Tire Rack deliveries. Fast, dependable, and courteous.

$ 250 to read codes from OBDII Port-​Simple check engine light diagnosis (Autozone will read the codes for free and a code reader cost less than this fee).
Diagnosed 2 bad oxygen sensors when they work in a series and if one is bad then that one should be replaced first and then move onto the second… Not necessarily both bad.
Diagnosed bad Control Arm when it was strut caps-​Connected pieces but very different purpose.
Told me Brake bulb was bad when it was actually a grounding issue at the housing
Diagnosed bad temperature control sending unit when it was a short in the system and not actually a bad unit (10 minute fix once I chased down the wiring)
Estimate from Hollin Hall $ 4,000
Everything Repaired by another local shop with a proper diagnosis done for $ 700. Do mea a favor and if you are going to overpay at least go to a dealer so you know it is going to be asaninely expensive. Or get an opinion from a shop that doesn’t prey on waynewood housewives.
Car’s are not rocket science, so please don’t charge like they were.

I used Hollin for tire replacement from a Tire Rack order. Had the tires shipped there and used as part of their recommended installer program. Overall, very good service and they did a thorough job for the car and tires I was placing them on. The area is clean, everyone knew their job and were professional. I would use again in the future.
Do note that they are not fast like a run of the mill place. They take their time and I was happy to wait knowing they did it right.
