We have practiced green cleaning since we served our first clients in 1996. With our commitment to healthier cleaning, we use neutral products like vinegar and water, baking soda, and Bön Ami — all of which contain no chlorine, dye, phosphorus, or fragrance. So, when children and pets play on a floor we’ve just cleaned, there is absolutely no risk of toxicity or harmful chemicals.

Maid to Clean® teams are trained to use specialized equipment and products. Along with our environmentally-​friendly cleaning products, we use special dust-​trapping cloths and HEPA vacuums. Our vacuums catch dust particles and allergens, rather than shooting the irritants back into the air, the way conventional vacuums do. Thus, in addition to being green, our cleaning methods are also highly beneficial for allergy and asthma sufferers.

As part of our pledge to give back to the community, Maid to Clean® supports such organizations as HRC, Capital Pride, Reel Affirmations, SMYAL, Del Ray Art on the Avenue, along with local schools and churches.

Business Owner

In 1996, Cindi founded Maid to Clean®, a residential cleaning company — then a three-​woman crew operating out of her kitchen. Flash forward to 2009, and Maid to Clean® is the Washington, DC-area’s premier cleaning service, with a suite of offices, a staff of 40, and its first franchise operation in Bethesda, MD.

Over the last decade, Cindi has garnered a number of awards for the company. Most recently, Maid to Clean® earned the coveted «Angie’s List Super Service Award.»

Cindi attributes much of her success to her broad range of interests. In addition to being a Bikram yoga instructor, Cindi is an avid cyclist who has raced for charity all across the U.S.

Very disappointed! Today I was scheduled for a new client ‘walk through’ at 9.30 am.
I received a call at 9.26 am to say they weren’t coming.
After reviewing referrals and ratings for almost 6 weeks I finally settled on Maid to Clean and then this happens.
Yes, the weather here in NOVA/​DC metro area has caused chaos but please don’t use that as an excuse for horrible customer service. If you knew you were going to have logistical issues and staff shortages this week then why did you not call your customers to reschedule, not leave them hanging until 4 minutes before their appointment.
Apology was lukewarm and no recommendation of how to fix this or reschedule so now I’m going to have to call the other companies I was also recommended.
Not impressed, Maid to clean– I had really high hopes for a great partnership and this is the first impression you reward me with.

Wow. Amazing. I just had a move-​out cleaning done by Maid to Clean and I can’t wait to hire them for periodic cleaning in my new place. The three-​person crew (Group 14) showed up on time and started working as soon as they came through the door. They cleaned the entire place and left it in much better condition than it was when I moved in! Everything sparkled from baseboards to oven to bathtub. Their rates were very reasonable, and I was very satisfied with their incredible work. Very strongly recommended.

I am usually pretty good at cleaning my own home but a more demanding work schedule has prevented me from staying on top of it. I needed to have my place deep-​cleaned and heard about Maid to Clean from other friends who were already using them, and were very happy with their services. I decided to give them a try.
From the first person who greeted me on the phone, to the person with whom I discussed what I wanted to have done and who scheduled my appointment, to the extremely thorough cleaning that my home received, I have never been more impressed with a company’s clear commitment to customer service and satisfaction! They didn’t miss a beat. From beginning to end, the experience was friendly but systematic and professional. This tells me that the owner cares about getting it right, time and time again.
I learned from the office manager that many employees at Maid to Clean have been there for years and years, some even more than 15 years. That tells me that Maid to Clean not only cares about its clients, but cares about its employees too. This is the kind of company I want to give my repeat business to. There is a reason their employees have remained loyal to them, and now, they have won my loyalty too.

I get my house cleaned once a month by Maid to Clean as a part of keeping my house less dusty and clean. They clean by entire 1000 square ft. condo, floors, 2 bathrooms, stovetop, make the bed and dust, and shine the appliances.
Maid to Clean is very responsive, on time and always efficient. If I have questions or want improvements they are always available for a phone call and will do what they can to make adjustments. Sometimes I travel out of the country and am not home so they are always very receptive if I need to skip a month if my house does not need cleaning. I think the thing I like the best is that the products they use are organic and are natural. I do not like chemicals and try to keep a green household, so they have a way using natural products and making things cleaner than what I have ever seen when chemicals are used. They pay attention to detail, so detailed that they see things I don’t see! I always support women owned businesses but Maid to Clean is truly unique in that the owner cares about her employees who are female and takes care of their families as well. If you choose them, you will not be disappointed at all!

I’ve been using Maid to Clean for the last 9 months and they have been nothing but fantastic. I have a two person cleaning crew that comes every other week to my DC home. We have several small areas that I don’t have he patience to dust and hard wood floors throughout, all areas are spotless and the floors shine. They take the extra time to be sure that everything is in its place when they leave. I have not had a bad experience with Maid to Clean in this time and plan on continuing service with them for the foreseeable future. The staff is always polite and professional when I see them and have been very thorough in their cleaning.

Maid to Clean did a terrific job on my initial cleaning — there were a couple spots here and there, but very little and nothing to complain about. They cleaned things that I didn’t think they would touch, like our dog bowls and detachable shower shelf thing. Their customer service was excellent and professional.
The only downside is the cost. MTC is pricier than other cleaning services — it was $ 370 to clean the first floor of my house (about 1,200 sq ft). I was a little upset that the quote they gave me for cleaning the entire house was actually just for the first floor, but they were nice about it and gave me a discount. Also, if you write an online review, good or bad, you get a $ 50 off your next cleaning.
I’m looking forward to their next cleaning in a couple of weeks!

We have worked with MTC for about three years for bimonthly cleaning of our home in Del Ray. Daisy and Jenny in the front office are always responsive and accommodating. And, the housekeepers always do a thorough and fantastic job for us. Our home consistently sparkles. These are hard working, honest folks. We are glad we found them.

We recently hired MTC for an initial cleaning and recurrent cleanings. I was happy to see the team (of 3) arrive with a ladder among other equipment and cleaning supplies. They provided a deep cleaning to my condo but I have to say that I was surprised that it took 3 people 3 hours to clean my 1300 sq. ft apt (one room is for storage and did not need to be entered). Overall we were pleased with the results and look forward to having our home cleaned every two weeks.

I used other services in the past, and the level of clean was perfectly fine. But I switched because Maid to Clean is just significantly better. They get every surface, are so much more thorough, and if I am paying for professional cleaning, I want it better than I could do. The women have also all been very polite, respectful, and very nice if you get a chance to chat with them.

So I didn’t have high hopes, but frankly we are putting our condo on the market and it needed to be cleaned before showing it and neither my wife nor I have the time to get this done.
I walked into my apartment yesterday and it has never been this clean. Not a speck of dust. They even scrubbed the walls down. This was supposed to be a one time thing, but we have already ordered repeat services.
