I have had three moves with this company and each one has been perfection. These are a crew of friendly, likable fellows who quickly and expertly do their jobs… no dings on the furniture or home… they are always pleasant and just plain really good at what the do. They are true professionals and I would confidently and highly recommend them to anyone who needs to move their furniture and set back up their furnitureThey are in a smooth and efficient manner. They are A++++++

I packed everything, but they wrapped all furniture extremely well.

Worked their butts off with smiles and no complaints. I have a long walk to the elevator and the big truck didn’t clear the loading dock (1970’s and very low) so they had to use a steep sidewalk from the truck.
Will use them again next time!

We hired them to move from Alexandria to Rockville in April. The communication was off right from the beginning with different quotes from Marvin and Oscar. While Oscar quoted 4 – 6 hours after touring the apartment, Marvin sent me a quote for 6 – 8 hours. I had to spend sometime over the phone to clarify the confusion. Marvin was insistent that they can’t change it despite the fact that his employee who toured the apartment held a different opinion.
The movers arrived on time but everything went south from there.
They falsely claim on their website that they are BBB accredited. They are not. The BBB website clearly says that the business is not BBB accredited when you follow the link from MOTM’s website.
The guys didn’t seem to be well-​versed with disassembling and re-​assembling and the move took way too long (they got in at 8.45 and left at 5.30) for a lightly furnished two bed room apartment. This was with my husband helping them half of the time. They took a lunch break which seemed to go on forever. They left Alexandria at 12.25 with us and arrived in Rockville at 2.45 pm. The result was that I was charged $ 200 more than the original quote provided to me ($ 850 v $ 650), of course this is not counting the time we were waiting for the movers to show up in our new location.
Furthermore, in our new home, Oscar clumsily dumped some moving boxes near the water heater, which created a messy water leak situation. This led to water spilling all over the foyer and utility room. All this when movers had just started putting in our stuff with the inevitable result that there were dirty footprints all over our floor and carpet. Not to mention that it slowed down the move-​in process with more people navigating the same entryway since the maintenance guys also had to get to work when movers were still at work. Further, not only the water had to be turned off, but also the water heater needed to be replaced which took 3 good hours for the maintenance to fix.
We got bad scuff marks on our filing cabinet and when I pointed it out to Oscar twice, he didn’t respond with so much as an apology. He was generally disrespectful of our space in that he wasn’t too careful with picking up tape and such after himself whilst re-​assembling.
Marvin called me the next day and we settled on a refund for damaging our furniture but he has not mailed me the check in three weeks and repeated reminders over email and phone since failed to elicit a favorable response. When I finally managed to reach him over phone today, he did a volte face and said he never agreed to pay me anything.
I would say «buyer beware» of movers who make false claims, go back on their word at the drop of a hat and do not own up to mistakes.

These guys are awesome. I used them again to move from Laurel to Silver Spring. They showed up right on time, they were very helpful in loading unpacked items like shirts and jackets on hangers. They made the whole experience a breeze.

I don’t normally provide reviews, but I just wanted to say how happy I am with the service provided by Men on the Move. I spoke with Marvin (the owner I believe) about my need to move three large pieces of furniture into a storage pod on my driveway ASAP. I was expecting to hear him tell me that they could squeeze me in next week, but Marvin was able to get a three person team out to my house a few hours after we spoke! They were courteous and did a fantastic job! But, most of all they were quick, efficient, CAREFUL, and didn’t waste any time. So, if you are looking for someone to help you out with your move, I would check Men on the Move out FIRST!

I used Men On The Move for my move in Silver Spring at the end of November 2015. They were phenomenal. The three guys were super friendly and fun to chat with, and hustled! They had quoted me an hourly rate, and estimated between three and four hours. It took 3.5 hours exactly, and the final price was right as quoted in the range for three and four hours. They carefully took apart my furniture (bed, couch, etc.) and put it back together again at the new place. I would highly recommend these guys.

Men on the Move came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. The online quote was easy and any emailed questions were answered quickly. usually within the hour. On moving day they showed up on time, had great attitudes and worked quickly. Like other reviewers we spent 25 years in the military with 11 moves and this was the best (albeit the smallest) Eduardo and his team were very professional. One hears many horror stories about movers… There were no hidden fees, price was as quoted and VERY reasonable. Would definitely use again and recommend them to everyone I know anticipating a move.

Overall we had a good experience with Men on the Move. First of all, I looked into at least 10 different moving companies in the area and MOTM was by far the most reasonably priced. I got some pretty outrageous quotes (including one for over $ 1000 to move us out of our 800 some square foot 1-​bedroom apartment. I wish I was kidding.) They also don’t upcharge you for a lot of things like other companies do. For example, your moving time doesn’t start until they arrive on site.
Marvin, the owner, was very easy to work with. Because of the availability of the freight elevators at our apartments, we weren’t able to start the move until after 3 pm on Sunday. Generally they like to start moves much earlier in the day, but when I told Marvin that the times weren’t flexible he said they would make it work.
The three guys (wish I could remember their names) arrived squarely in the middle of the time frame they told us. Unfortunately someone in the building was blocking our reserved loading dock for a while so they spent a while just waiting around for him to move before suggesting that they get started on wrapping and prepping things in the apartment (which is probably what should’ve happened to begin with — oh well).
There were a couple factors that were outside of their control (like their truck was too tall to get down to our loading dock, so they had to park outside of the garage and walk things over to the freight elevator), but there were also some other ways we felt they could’ve managed their time better. All in all it took about 5 hours for the move, but we can’t even be TOO upset about that because their overtime charges are super reasonable compared to anyone else. We would definitely use them again.

Marvin and his team performed a top notch move of my chock-​full one bedroom apartment into storage several months ago. They were on time, quiet, careful and professional. Their price estimate was also more competitive than others in the area, and it was honored. There was an unfortunate one hour delay in the process when the movers had to reorganize the previous contents of their large truck in order to accommodate all of my things. (I’m note sure what else was in the truck or why it wasn’t empty to begin with). But Marvin honored the original time estimate, in spite of the move taking about 90 minutes longer than planned, and I felt good about tipping them much of the difference. Recommended for local moves!

Perfect move! I recently used Men on the Move for a 2 BR apartment local move. Having served a 17 year military career to date, I have experienced many moves. Some good some bad. I also worked for a moving company while working my way through college years back, so have a pretty good idea of a good company and crew. This move was perfect, I could find no problems with my critical eyes. The crew arrived on time, called beforehand to give me a heads up, starting working immediately upon showing up and did not slow down for 6 ½ hours when all was completed. There were no delays on the transfer between residences. They actually beat me to the delivery location despite the fact I departed ahead of them. I was paying by the hour, so I greatly appreciated the solid work ethic. It is important to note that speed did not sacrifice for safety or care of my property being moved. I did my own packing, but the crew expertly wrapped my furniture, disassembled/​reassembled furniture and took great care in handling everything. I experienced no damage to my property being moved nor to the residences themselves. The final cost came in right at the original estimate given to me, so no unexpected $ surprises. The crew was working so fast, I truly thought they were trying to save me money, although it was likely just good old fashion professional work ethic that was driving them.
My only issue was small and involved communications. I booked the move 1 ½ months out and received a quote right away. After leaving a credit card deposit and receiving a confirmation via email, I did not hear from Men on the Move again so I was concerned. I called them the day before the move to confirm and they did confirm, but I did not hear from them without me calling which I found a little unusual. However, like I said, all went perfect on the execution end.
I don’t know if all the crews at Men on the Move are the same, but Carlos and his team were excellent. I enthusiastically recommend Men on the Move based on my experience.

Tried to schedule a move with these guys and they were highly uncooperative. I have a relatively easy move — within the same building I live in — and they could not even show up on time (I have two hour windows with which to move.) I would not recommend this company, as they would not even provide a written estimate and needed a 3 hour minimum.

This company was very professional and courteous. They took their time and were very careful and particular with our belongings. They were on time and affordable! Would definitely recommend!

I used Marvin’s company for a cross-​town move this past January and was satisfied with their service. They were very thorough and patient, and worked with me to resolve any issues that arose. What can you say about a moving company?
I just used them this weekend and all I can say is that they did an amazing job. They were right on time, worked as a team, very efficient, very careful, and they listened to my few concerns regarding being careful not to scratch walls or floors with furniture. They did not cause any damage at all. The way the wrap each individual piece of furniture and shrink wrap it is awesome. If I keep saying good things my review will sound fake, but I 100% would recommend Men on the Move to my friends and family. In fact, I did recommend them already for a much bigger job later this summer at my friend’s house. With service like theirs, I am confident they will be around when I have to move again, and I will 100% call them. Awesome! Thanks again!

We just used Men on the Move for our move from Alexandria to Charlottesville. Marvin and his crew were absolutely outstanding. We have never used professional movers before and were wary of all the horror stories we have heard from people.
Marvin came to our 3 level townhouse and gave us an estimate. His team showed up on-​time ⁶⁄₂₁ and packed up our house. The guys were methodical and careful about packing everything up and labeling the boxes. The truck arrived in Charlottesville on ⁶⁄₂₂ and the crew moved in all of our boxes and furniture to the correct rooms. The entire team both days were polite and professional. Marvin was very professional as well and the estimated cost is what we ended up paying. No escalation of fees!

Marvin and his team live up to the 5 star rating. They arrived on time, started working immediately, wrapped up all furniture, took table and bed apart and put it all back together post move. Because their truck was too high to fit in the loading dock, it took them longer than anticipated but Marvin called another 3 men crew which helped tremendously unload the truck at final destination. My house was freshly painted and was worried that walls could get scratches because of the tight stairway. They took very good care not to touch the walls. Because of the tight stairway, they brought the sofa over the deck with straps. The money was worth spent and I will always use them in the future. It saved me SO much work and stress! I highly recommend Marvin and his team!

Punctual and professional. The advantage of getting older is that you have the resources to not have to call in favor cards and use friends and family for a move. We were on a deadline and these guys did the job.
They arrived promptly on time, sized up our poorly packed condo (what can I say, I haven’t had to move in 9 years… I was a bit rusty) and got to work. 7 hours later we had almost everything safely ensconced in our new place and could start the long process of making our new house our home.
We would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family if they need to move in the future.

I decided that I would not burden my family and friends with helping me move this time, so I called up Men on the Move. I called them the day before to confirm my 12−1pm arrival window. I’m glad I did, because they were trying to tell me that it was between 12 and 2pm. I mentioned that this would not work because my new building has strict rules, and that they would have to be done by 5pm.
The movers arrived the next day at 1pm. Upon arrival, they seemed professional and started to move my stuff out of my old apartment. Some of the movers did not speak English very well, so our communication was a little off, but things seemed to be working out. Even though the majority of my items were packed in boxes, one of the movers seemed to have a bit of an attitude if certain items were not packed properly (like my desktop and monitor). I have an IKEA entertainment center that they would not move because they would have to take it apart. I had to go back an get it at a later date. Its a good thing that I chose to move before the end of the month.
After they finished getting the items that they would take, they followed me to my storage unit. They said that they would not be responsible for lamps, and made me put them in my car. They loaded up all of my furniture that I had in storage and proceeded to my new apartment. They put all of the items into my apartment and made the 5 pm deadline.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have just used them to move all of my large items. I wish they would have explained thier lamp policy among other things when I made my reservation.
