North Henry Liberty is your full service neighborhood automotive care facility in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. David Rockwell is our Service Manager, equipped with over a decade of professional automotive care experience. Our Technicians work on both foreign and domestic makes and models. Whether its preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, coding, updating vehicle software, check engine light diagnostics, jump start, flat tire or any auto care related question our goal is to provide service with integrity and honesty. We encourage anyone to ask questions if they are not sure and/​or comfortable with anything that is quoted because with an open line of communication margin of errors are minimized and satisfaction is maximized.

History

Established in 2014.

Our location has been a fixture in Old Town for many years, North Henry Liberty is simply a rejuvenation of the corner found on North Henry and Oronoco St. Our facility has been built from the ground up, it touts all new equipment, leading Scan Tools, BG Flush Machines, Snap-​On Tools and more! Our Service Manager David Rockwell embodies class, his wealth of knowledge and persona is second to none. With decades of professional experience our customers safety is in good hands. Our staff looks forward to building relationships, trust, and along the way write its own history for many years to come. We look forward to the great opportunity in serving any and all!

One that is a first class professional, David is equipped with well over a decade of professional automotive managerial experience, you can be rest assured that all are in good hands. The will and desire to become a trusted source for all our neighbors’ automotive needs is and always will be priority number one.

Everyone at North Henry Liberty lives in the name of positive energy, integrity and honesty. What you will not find at any of our shops are people that are dishonest under any circumstance. That being said, we are not perfect and do have off days, that is what platforms like Yelp are for. Top notch service all around! I found this shop because I received a coupon in the mail for a winter maintenance package. It was $ 129 for an oil change, tire rotation and coolant flush. My truck has over 160,000 miles and was due for some maintenance so I brought it in. Jim, the service manager was professional and after dropping it off, I received a call about some other issues they had discovered. He advised me that my transmission and brake fluid showed signs of serious wear and also that one of my rear tail lights had 3 bulbs burnt out. I was a little worried at first that maybe because I was new they were trying to upsell me, so I told him I would call him back. I checked my vehicle records and it was true that I was actually long overdue to have those fluids flushed. The price they quoted was also very reasonable so I had them do it. They also topped off my other fluids, checked my tire pressure and made sure the engine was fine. I was very satisfied with the service in October. At the end of November, I had a TPMS light and another engine light that would seem to come on and go away. I decided to bring it back early on the Friday after thanksgiving. Jim told me he could get it back to me by lunch and he lived up to his word. To make it even better, they ran the computer through it and checked out all my tires and no issues came up. When I went to pick up the car, they didn’t charge me at all for anything. Really great service and top notch people. I now trust them completely and highly recommend their professional shop!

I stopped for gas this morning on my way to the store and a nice gentleman named Joseph pumped my gas for me due to the cold weather. I’m very appreciative and will definitely come back sometime in the near future!

Went there for the cheap gas. Liked the mechanic’s demeanor and the clean and tidy look of the place, so I gave them a chance and got an oil change and asked for new brake pads. They could have taken me for a ride and installed new brake pads, but did an inspection and told me that I didn’t need them. So they saved me a lot of money. They did other work and gave me a discount. Liked them so much that in bringing I’m my other car for some long-​overdue work.

Consistently low 93 Octane Gas prices.
Normally people are good with the whole «enter from rt 1 S leave heading Rt 1 S» as to avoid any awkwardly placed cars or getting blocked in. There’s only 4 pumps, very old school, very close to each other.
WARNING: When I use my AMEX here they regularly hold $ 300 for $ 45 worth of gas!!! NOT KIDDING. When I use my VISA I do not have that issue.

I’ve been going here for the last 5 years. The mechanics are all honest, take time to answer all of my questions and have never tried to up sell me on unnecessary repairs.

Went in for safety and emissions, David realized my oil was overdue and changed my oil and filters for me. Everything was done in under an hour. I walked to Starbucks and waited. He also kindly checked my tires and tire pressure and turned off a faulty tire pressure check light. Will absolutely be back, thanks for going above and beyond!

David is totally trustworthy and handles both of our MINI Coopers and the Mazda. The work is done well, the pricing is reasonable and the turnaround is quick.
They can handle extended warranties also which is a great bonus

I took my car here after taking my car to Lindsay Lexus for a Check Engine light alert. The repair estimate from Lindsay Lexus diagnosed it as needing new ignition coils, spark plugs and a serpentine belt for close to $ 3,000. David did his own inspection and revealed that certain items listed on the Lindsay repair estimate were actually fine and did not need repairing. They proceeded to do the rest of the repairs listed on the report from Lindsay for a third of the price! Turnaround was quick – my car was ready in 2 days. These guys are reliable, knowledgeable and HONEST. It doesn’t get much better than that in regards to car repairs. I wouldn’t trust my vehicles to anyone else now.

I needed an inspection for my car and was pressed for time so I figured I would call ahead. They gave me the all clear that they could take care of it then– I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Fast service and nice guys too. I’ll definitely be using this service center when I need to.

It’s a small shop and busy, but the guys worked quickly and kept me informed. They sent me to the Starbuck’s only a block away to wait. I went to Huhn’s for an emissions inspection in order to register a new car that I purchased in MD. No appointment was required. Professional and honest. I’ll do my next inspection at Huhn’s.

Having just moved back into the area (military), my car’s annual safety inspection was well past due. When I called, the owner let me know how long of a wait there was and told me when his «rush hours» typically are. I was able to promptly get my inspection done. I was not aware that one of my rear license plate lights were out and he showed it to me and proceeded to replace it with a new bulb at no charge. I was pleasantly surprised as this is service and honesty that you just don’t see anymore.
I will be bringing all of my family cars there for inspections and repairs.

I called about checking on my brakes and getting an oil change at 12 and by 5:30 I was picking my car back up.
This is a throwback to the old gas station/​service stations that were everywhere when I was a kid. A guy sitting on a stool selling minimal refreshments with mechanics walking around everywhere.
This was the first auto shop I’ve used since making the move from Richmond to Alexandria, and thankfully I found someone who was honest and had decent prices. They were quick to service my car, called twice during the work that was needed, and charged a lower price than any other NOVA mechanics quoted me.
The added convenience of being within a very close walking distance makes this a big asset to the Old Town community.

When I moved to Arlington I knew I needed to find good doctors, good hairdresser, and a good mechanic. Still working on the first two but I found the best mechanics ever with Huhn’s. Adore them — told all my friends about them — won’t go anywhere else.
I’m not car savvy, so I’ve even brought my car in before because the interior lights weren’t working and I thought I blew a bulb. Turns out I bumped the dimmer light with my knee. The guy there took a look at the car and fixed it for free without making me feel like an ass. Seriously love this place.

Again, I love this place. I have only had nice experiences, and I never worry that I will get screwed over.
I took my car in a couple of weeks ago after it started making a sort of whirring sound that began to concern me. I am embarrassed to say that I took it in thinking it would be a fan belt issue, and it was just that somehow it had gotten quite low on oil (I had not checked). They simply added some oil and charged me about $ 10 (not even charging for the «service» of having someone drive it around the block and inspect the belts, etc). They recommended that I bring it back in a week later for an oil change, for which it was slightly overdue. They did an oil change, changed the filters, and did a thorough check to be certain that it didn’t appear to be leaking at all.
It would have been SO easy to pull the wool over my eyes. And if they hadn’t done that, they could at least have made me feel completely moronic for not having checked my oil levels before bringing it in.
I really love having a place that I feel comfortable with. Prices are fair, and the mechanics seem very nice and trustworthy.

I had my yearly safety inspection done here. The staff was friendly, efficient, and didn’t try to convince me to have a bunch of nonsense extra work done.
A great thing about this place is that it is located in a gas station, so you can drop off early and pick-​up late (they are open until 8pm). In my case, I was able to drop my car off around 8am on my way to work, and pick it up around 6:30 on my way home. I’ve had neighbors tell me good things about this place as well, so I might come back if I need additional service.
