The variety of fresh veggies, and presentation was delightful. The ambiance was clean, quiet, neat, and calm making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch alone or with one guest. Table seating is limited, indoors. I had a spinach salmon salad, and it was plentiful. I dined in and took what I couldn’t eat with me. The one salad is almost enough for two to eat. It was a healthy selection that was filling. Since I ate with a co worker, the overall tab for both salads rounded to be $ 40, with bottled drinks. A bit pricy for salads, but the freshness of the food was well worth it. I didn’t rate it a five star because parking is not the best for the location, and the layout was a bit cramped if it were crowded.

Petite Fontaine is awesome! It’s quaint, a little bit off the beaten path(i.e., not right on King St.) and delicious! I ordered a salad with five toppings which was delicious, but I also noticed that their sandwiches and foccacia looked amazing. I was eyeing the beer and wine selection while eating my salad, and the associate had some great recommendations for me. I ended up buying a bottle of bonarda as I was leaving. I’ll definitely be back for lunch and for one of their wine tastings!

My salad was good but not worth over $ 10. And I didn’t even add meat to it.

Great salads, quiche and Bahn Mi sandwiches! Their salad toppings are fresh and abundant. The quiche always has delicious ingredients and a buttery flaky crust. The soups seem to have good healthy ingredients, but lack a little seasoning and depth of flavor.

At Petite Fontaine in OLDTOWNALEXANDRIA you are«Free to Create» fresh, healthy gourmet salads. I had lunch there recently and I have to say, they do not exaggerate! I added the pan seared salmon to my salad and was not prepared for such a fresh, delicious and hearty meal. I didn’t need to eat dinner that night. The concept is pretty cool: for one base price, you choose your green(choose from Baby Spinach, Arugula, Romaine or Mixed Greens), then your 5 toppings. In addition to some of the more traditional toppings such as carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and the like, toppings also include pasta, couscous, quinoas, roasted vegetables, dried cranberries, avocados, walnuts, chickpeas, roasted red beets and edamame. You can also opt for gourmet cheeses, such as fresh mozzarella, feta, blue, shaved parmesan and goat cheese. And to top it all off, you also have the option of a meat or seafood topping: herb roasted chicken breast, cold smoked OR pan seared salmon, pâté, tuna, roasted beef or turkey or marinated shrimp,. Not in the salad mood? That’s okay, they have a quiche and a sandwich of the day, plus fresh breads(I had a mini baquette — for a «mini,» it was more than enough for two) and pastries, along with cheese and fresh fruit. Although the brownies and chocolate chip cookies looked delicious, I was way too full after the salad to even consider trying either of them.

Great spot for fresh salads. Always impressed with the fresh veggie, cheese and meat choices. Very good service as well as moderate prices.
