Just ate an Italian here. As others have experienced the person who put the toppings on didn’t listen. He asked if I wanted hot peppers and I said no but he put them on anyway. I honestly think the guy couldn’t hear because of all the noise the ventilation was causing. The sandwich had less meat than a Subway and that’s saying something. Don’t get me wrong, it was okay, just skimpy.

An über driver tipped me off to this place. I didn’t know it existed before then. Took a long lunch and walked over. First thing: the location is beautiful. There’s a park(read:large grass area) out front, with several places to take a load off. The line was long, but it was 12:45pm on a Friday. While waiting in line, there was a performer tucked away in a corner: he was God-awful. He did an acoustic version of «Pretty Woman» that I think even cats would’ve vetoed. That aside, as a first timer, the menu was easy to navigate and my sandwich took to time in the oven. If you’ve had one sandwich, you’ve had them all, right? Wrong!!! OMG why is this so good? The chicken was moist and flavorful. The lettuce and pickles were crisp. I added bacon which… if you don’t like bacon, we won’t ever be friends. The bread was perfect in texture, but firm enough not to turn into a soggy mess. I kept the rest of my condiments simple. I also purchased a «dream bar» because it looked too good to ignore. Tanya from Über, should you ever read this: thanks and your next sub is my treat!!!

Tasty sammich, but could have used more meat. Overall a 6.5 out of 10 as subs go. The bacon/Good place for lunch or light dinner. Recommend.

I used to hate this place, because nothing they serve is deep fried, but they have the best pickles I’ve ever tasted. It’s good for when you want to trick yourself into thinking that you’re eating something that’s healthy. The wreck is the way to go… as long as you enjoy buckets full of sodium.

I work nearby and typically visit this location for a quick sandwich. Today, I went during an off hour at 3PM. I waited for maybe 2 minutes before I got someone’s attention. Staff was extremely apologetic and offered me anything I wanted on the house. I stressed it wasn’t a problem, but they insisted on giving me my meal for free. Now THATS good customer service.

Customer service 0. Not even one. Everyone including manager with very bad attitude. I felt like I owed them.

Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely a fan of Potbelly. However, this location’s staff could benefit from training in efficiency. The food tasted good because of Potbelly’s ingredients… but everything took forever to make and was sloppily put together. The staff wasn’t rude or unfriendly, they were just extremely inefficient. Any business owner would probably agree that time is money. Some of my favorites from Potbelly are the: Turkey Breast, Smoked Ham, and if you want something more flavorful or adventurous go for the Wreck or the Italian. The Broccoli and Cheddar soup was yummy as well.

Great sandwiches but this location has pretty horrible customer service. I’ve had several issues dealing with catering orders and will most likely seek another vendor for meeting catering needs due to such issues.

There aren’t too many great sandwich places in the DC area but I think potbellys does a good job making up for it. Sandwiches are always good. I like all the choices they have. My only complaint today was that the person making the sandwiches was in training and this made the line incredibly slow. By the time we got our hot sandwiches they weren’t so hot anymore

Although this location is convenient to get to by Metro(King Street Metro Station), parking is a hassle. There are a few metered spots that become free after 6pm, and there’s a nearby paid garage. Park carefully: There is limited parking at the circle that the restaurant faces, and the meter maids do come around frequently and with big smiles on their faces when they see curb cuts, too-close-to-hydrant parking, and any other violation. On to the food: This location isn’t particularly better than any other Potbelly, but it’s a good place to eat if you’re taking classes at GW’s campus(just about 100 feet away). The food tax, however, is much higher than if you were to eat elsewhere in NoVA. The service is fast and the food is consistently good. And their shakes are divine. As are their cookies. Their drink selection is eclectic, and the sandwich options are aplenty(even for vegetarians). They’ll even give you a side of hot peppers if you ask politely.

I don’t get the Potbelly thing. I’ve been seeing them everywhere in the area, until one day, we ended up eating here after hiking. I felt like the menu was small for a place that pretty much just makes sandwiches(okay, and some soups and salads). I had trouble finding something on the menu that sounded good– I wish they served breakfast all day. I finally ordered the meatball sub with cheese, and a friend ordered the pizza sub(I can’t remember what other people in the group ate). It felt like it took a very long time for my sandwich to be made(they apparently ran out of meatball sauce had to go in the back to get more). It was a little awkward to stand there for 5+ minutes and watch your sandwich be created and heated. They didn’t ask me if I wanted cheese(I did, and they put cheese on there, but I thought it was weird they didn’t ask), but they DID ask if I wanted Italian seasoning on my meatball sandwich. I’m pretty sure I looked at the guy like he was insane.(Does anyone say no? For the record, I said yes, but didn’t taste any seasoning anywhere on my sandwich). My meatball sub was okay, not great, and the pizza sub was apparently not very good. I picked up some potato chips, but they were a bit salty and I couldn’t finish the bag. I did taste the sugar cookie, which was pretty delicious. I secretly wanted a shake, but felt like I had to pretend to be healthy since we just went hiking. After the meal, I felt vaguely nauseous. Won’t be in a hurry to visit another Potbellys!

Once you’ve been to 1 Potbelly, you’ve been to them all. This one, however, is in the heart of the USPTO campus so I’d avoid it over the mid-day. During off hours, you can easily get in and out. Service was fine. Cleanliness was about average.

First impression of this place was negative. Waitress that took my order rushed me. Requested an Italian sandwhich and chicken salad. Italian sandwhich was way too oily and greasy. Individuals making sandwhiches did not listen to my order. Chicken salad chicken looks disguisting and has a resemblance of Tuna fish. Further, if you like bad service I would recommend this place. They need to prescribe ritalin for their employess as they do not listen and probably have ADD. Was not given napkins or a fork with order but was told everything was in the bag. The only thing that came in the bag was an artery clog. Food is highly overpriced for the quality. I was not even given a receipt for my order. I would recommend if you want an Italian Sandwhich go to Jimmy Johns and save $ 2.00 on top of that. If you want a decent salad go to Whole Foods down the street.

This is for this location only. Potbelly subs themselves get 5 stars in my book! «Let me get that hammie on wheat with a sugar cookie.» That’s right, a healthier sub with a big olé’ sugar cookie on the side! Whaaa!!! Okay, I literally have had to stop going to potbelly because of said order. How much sense does that make!?! Anyways, this location is close to the digs. However, the hours are inconvenient for the thousands of people who live over here because they only cater to the business crowd and close all early and stuff. Also, we’ve been here a few times, and each time the workers are depressing. Life is tough, we are all knee deep in it. But, in the service industry, a smile(even a fake one) goes a long ways. Also, said depressing workers are slow. The potbelly by my office in downtown dc is lightning face. They play zero games. These guys just don’t have the same sense of urgency. And what is up with the dirty tables everywhere Alexandria!?!

I like Potbellys and this is a pretty good location. The businesses in this area pretty much revolve around the work day because the area is pretty dead after the workforces clear for the day. This Potbellys is no exception and gets VERY busy during lunch and closes a little after the scheduled work day. Regular Potbelly menu and fare you come to expect. Nice staff. The condiment area can get kind of crazy and there’s sometimes a live band or guy playing the guitar in the corner. If you’re lucky you can snag one of the 4(?) tables outside in front.

We needed a quick lunch spot in the Alexandria area and Potbelly filled that need… it wasn’t anything too impressive, but was an acceptable lunchtime spot. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, with a bag of chips and an Orange Crush(!) Positives: –Nice selection of glass bottle sodas(Orange Crush is too good to pass up) –Live music during lunch –Food was fresh and made quickly Negatives: –Luckily we found a spot right in front, but I can see how parking could be a hassle –Just nothing to make it stand apart from other sandwich places –Portions were a tad small for the prices Potbelly is just your average sandwich place — fast, fairly inexpensive, and simple.

I go to this Potbelly quite often since I work nearby. sometimes for lunch, a few times for dinner on those late nights at work. They have great sandwiches. I especially like Wreck with mayo, lettuce, onions and pickles. I really like getting pickles in my sandwiches because they’re now overwhelmingly strong, but tangy enough to be a pickle. Some other great sandwiches are Mediterranean and just tried the skinny beef, which was great too. Soups.I really like the broccoli cheddar, but it seems like they only have that on certain days(from what i’ve seen. mondays). Ask for crackers for those extra carbs. Get the soup in the skinny pair and you have a well-rounded meal at a decent price. Salads are not too bad there. I usually get them to be healthy, but they’re not amazing. Had the oreo shake once and it was pretty awesome.

It’s good for a quick lunch, and very nice spot during summer time. However, the parking is pain on the axx. The only remark that I have is their staff. Someone need to learn how to manage them and do the sandwich quicker. Don’t just stand their to wait for the customer to tell you. Be proactive. Otherwise, it’s OK. Make sure you get the shake!!! U know.

Strewn throughout DC and Virginia, this particular Potbelly location was perfectly located near my classes. Since it’s a chain, they’re all pretty much designed to look, operate, and smell exactly the same. My favorite was always the Mushroom Melt(mushrooms, swiss, provolone, and cheddar cheeses). I’d order the«Skinny» on wheat to make myself feel better about eating a cheesy sandwich, but really, it’s just less bread. They also offer«Original» and«Bigs»(30% larger than the«Original») on white or wheat bread. In addition to the meats and cheeses, they offer free additions like house-made hot peppers(yum, gives it a great zing), lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard, oil, and Italian seasoning. And when you’re craving something sweet, the chocolate shake is excellent and a perfect size.

Don’t tell my husband, but I headed here for a quick dinner a few weeks ago when he was out of town and had left me to fend for myself. Back when I worked in the District, I used to eat waaaay too much Potbelly’s and I loved their chicken salad sandwich. Hell, I’d take lunch an hour late to avoid waiting in line for it. This establishment — which I have now patronized twice — is no Gallery Place Potbelly’s. Even at off hours, I have encountered ridiculous lines that are a result of incompetence, not a sudden rush of customers. The staff is disorganized and the chicken salad sandwich was drier than I’ve ever experienced… except for the other time I ate here. The prices seem to have crawled upward while the quality slipped down. I’m super excited there is finally a Jimmy John’s in Alexandria. You can find me there instead when I get that craving for a quick sandwich.
