The first time I came here for a gel manicure it was horrible. The edges were a mess, and it started to chip the same day. I thought maybe I just got the wrong person or it was a fluke. I tried it again and the same thing happened. For a $ 40 manicure, I expect clean edges along my cuticles and a manicure that lasts for 2 weeks. This salon is so close to my house, but it’s worth the drive down the road for a much better mani.
The eyebrow wax was great.

I had the best massage and facial from Nicole at Solace Spa – she is excellent – very caring and experienced! I was in bliss when I left.

For Christmas my husband bought me a gift certificate for «The great escape» package. I was really looking forward to my appointment. I called 3 days in a row and would be sent directly to a voicemail box that was apparently full. But eventually I was able to talk to somone and explained I wanted to come in for the package my husband paid for as well as pay extra so I could extend my massage from 30mins to 90mins (I’ve never had a problem doing this). I was told this was fine and that my appointment started at 11:00 on sunday. Sunday comes around and I arrive 30 mins early expecting to change and fill out paperwork (which is customary for every spa I’ve been to). The doors were locked. Apparently they do not open until 11:00. I go to wait in my car, as it was cold outside, and noticed that I saw no movement within the spa. No one setting up. I finally saw employees walking in about 10mins before opening. I walk in shortly after so I do not cut into my service time.
I am taken back and fill out my massage form. My massage therapist comes to have me get changed but then asks ME what I’m getting done today. As a professional she should have known and confirmed it with me. I tell her my husband bought this package and I also booked to extend my massage time. She looked at me oddly and kept saying let me check. She said ok you just want the 90 min massage? I said no I want the full package plus extra time and that I didn’t mind paying the difference in cost. She again left and said ok he only paid $ 180 so you don’t pay nothing you have extra cause the massage is less. She then tried to upgrade my massage to a different type like hot stone. I again told her no I want the package he bought plus extra massage time. This back and forth went on for about 30mins with her leaving to the front desk every time I contradicted her. Apparently nothing was getting through to her so I finally gave up and said fine let’s just stick with the regular package. While taking me back she added that if I regularly get longer massage that I should just have booked it like that. I was fuming because that’s what I did over the phone. Her tone was very rude. Its not like she was new either, she told me she’d been there a long time. With that out of the way she finally took me to the massage room and said it’s short time so I’ll just do back. She didn’t ask what I wanted or give me an option. On top of that she didn’t even leave the room for me to get undressed and under the covers. Now I’m not modest but she was looking straight at me and I just felt really uncomfortable, she could of at least turned around.
The massage however was very nice. Next was my facial but before I could start I had to do more paperwork which was not provided while doing my first set of paperwork. I also noticed that my previous paperwork had not been collected and all my information was just sitting out in the waiting area. I didn’t feel my «confidential client information» was safe. Anyways the facial felt fine, my Esthetician was a little too chatty but it went well. After that was done I was told to go change and somone would start my pedicure. I waited for a while until finally I had to go to the front desk and ask who I was going to be with next. She had me pick out my polish and sat me at the pedi station. The front desk lady even set the water to start filling. Again I’m waiting… and then I noticed after a while the water was getting rather high. I try to get the attention of the woman doing a pedi service (who was not even 2 feet from me) but she didn’t notice me until the water spilled over got mine, her client, and her shoes soaked with water. They said sorry and cleaned up the mess. About 5 mins after the spill my nail technician finally appears and starts my service. My water was a little cold and she never turned the chair massager. The rest of my nail services were lovely. You get a warm neck wrap, scrub, mask, hot towels, parafin, and massage. Plus all the regular shaping and polish. Once I’m done she takes me to dry my nails and at that point I’m forgotten about, no one asks if I’d like somthing to drink or anything. There were even employees standing next to me eating and talking on the phone. I try to check if my nails are dry and she fussed at me. Basically once they are done with the service you’re chopped
all it was an ok experience. The services themselves were nice and all the little details were wonderful. Unfortunately the application, organization of all the employees, and execution of the services are severely lacking. I’ve been to quite a few different day spas in different states and with all kinds of people, product and demographic and have never been more excited then disappointed in my entire life. I’d only go back if I got another gift
poor husband, I felt so bad he made all this effort to make my day special only to have me come out of it more irratated and stressed.

As a former editor for Spa Magazine, I speak with some authority when I say this day spa offers offers quality treatments at an affordable price. While there is none of the pomp one might experience at a more pricey place such as the Arden Red Door, the experience, warmth, and professionalism of the staff more than compete. Extra amenities, such as a glass of white bubbly while receiving a chocolate pedicure — at no extra charge — make Solace Day Spa the clear outlier when it comes to any surrounding full-​service spa salons. Sam’s gentle touch and her calm demeanor are particularly welcome during a full-​body massage, as is Lan’s expertise when understanding the intricacies of color and cut.

I appreciate the good service and ambiance when I visit Solace! I’ve tried many others and keep coming back here.

SUSAN!!! I rarely ever write reviews but I had to do this one. I am VERY particular about my nails. I know exactly what I like and how they’re supposed to look and feel. Add to that the fact that I only get liquid gel nails and I can be a very tough critic. Not many people are good with liquid gel, making them too thick or uneven but SUSAN is AMAZING! It was my first time there and I’ll never go to another nail tech while I’m in this area. They look and feel so natural. The shape is perfect and the hand massage at the end really sealed the deal. She also waxed my eyebrows which I’m also a stickler for and they look amazing.

I had an hour-​long combination massage with Jackie on Sunday and it was FABULOUS! Before my session, Jackie sat down with me to review my chart and determine which body areas to focus on. During my massage, she used just the right amount of pressure, alleviating the pain I’d been experiencing in my hips and neck. In sum, this was one of the best massages I’ve ever had, and I’ll definitely book with Jackie again!

I have had plenty of gel manicures and this is by far the WORST one I’ve ever received. Their was a bit of a language barrier and the nail technician did not know how to properly paint nails or understand my concerns. On top of that the girl at the front desk kept coming back and asking for me to pay because they were closing soon, which was unprofessional given that you always pay at the end of your service. I left there frustrated because my nails looked like a fifth grader painted them. I will never go back to this place again. The only reason they are even getting two stars is because it was a nice facility.

I had a pedicure appointment today at the spa and when I went to put my feet in the water– it was scalding water. The woman doing my pedicure had turned on the hot water but not the cold water and then without checking the water temperature walked away. When I put my feet in the water I scalded my feet. There was no apology or maybe even a discount when I told the front desk what happened. I won’t be coming back here for a pedicure!!!
Kim for a haircut was great! And Lee for gel for nails was wonderful.

I have been going to Solace for over 5 years and, was a loyal customer; facials, massage, SNS nails, pedicures, hair cut and color, all on a very regular basis. However, after today, I will never go back.
Yesterday I made an appointment (the owner made the appointment) for 11:45 AM today as always I called this morning to confirm my 11:45 AM all good, get there at 11:35. I was told no, your appointment is for 4:45. I showed the owner who was at the desk my cell phone showing I called to confirm; calling to confirm is something I always do. She told me I could come back or go with a different girl.
Since I have a date tonight, I could not come back so I had no option but to go with another girl. As soon as she put the tips on I told her they were to wide, she said not to worry she would fix it. Then she put the powder on, I said that is not right, again not to worry I will fix it. She filed and filed to the point that they were so short there was nothing that could be done. At that point I was done, left came home an soaked them all off.
Lesson here; even if you have an appointment does not mean you have an appointment; even if you confirm it. Yes, I am picky about my nails, who is not; that is why we make appointments so we can get the person who does them the way we like.

I have been here a few times for nails and pedicures. The pedicures were great but the nails were nothing spectacular. I do like that they offer you quality wine and champagne and snacks.
I come here mainly for facials with Aziza! She is fantastic! She takes her time and explains everything including how to care for your skin in between appointments. I love the brands that they use (Collins, Skinceuticals and Dermalogica) — I used to use Dermalogica at home but have been on a mission to use natural products so I switched to Juice Beauty and Philosophy. It’s nice to get a monthly facial with these powerful and effective brands though. The place is very clean and inviting — luxurious bath robes, slippers and did I mention the two glasses of champagne?! :) I plan to come back for a body scrub and massage. If you are military or work for the military or DoD — bring your CAC card in for 10% off.

I have been coming here since 2006 when i moved to the area. Lee is my preferred technician. I usually get a mani/​pedi and eyebrow waxing when i go. My mom has gotten her hair done at the salon there and loved it. I really like this place and prefer them over the other places in the area. I usually can get an appointment for the same day if i call early enough.

This is just a review for a Mani & Pedi!
I’m always hesitant trying out new places for manicures and pedicures… well, because I’m a slight germaphobe! However, I read pretty good reviews about this place and decided to give it a try as my typical mani/​pedi salon was booked. I called and made an appt the same day for a spa pedi and regular mani. Jessica did an amazing job! She was very nice and courteous. She didn’t rush at all which was pleasant. I was offered wine, juice and water. The one thing I was very appreciative of, is that she didn’t try to upsell me at all! I hate when you go in for one thing and they try to tell you everything else that you «need.» I’ll be going there from now on!

Had a wonderful massage from Jackie and an outstanding perm and cut from Kim.
Received compliments on my hair style as soon as I walked out of the salon and feel very relaxed after receiving from my massage. I recommend them both!

I was in need of a touch up for my eyelashes and the girl put SO much glue on my lashes that they were all clumpy and stuck together. They then tried to charge me to have them removed! I love all cultures and nationalities but these people spoke very broken English! No one at the front desk spoke better than a 5^th grade level– therefore extremely difficult to communicate. There are so many better places out there. Don’t waste your money on this one.

I have been coming to this place about once per month for about 5 years now and I love it. I do waxing and pedicures here and I’ve seen about every tech in the place and never had a bad experience. Even though the salon is busy, the techs rarely rush and even the more «efficient» people do a good, thorough job. I also like that the prices are always the same and have been for the whole time I’ve been a customer here. Plus, they always have room for walk-​ins. Even though I live 20 minutes away, I will continue to make this my regular spot because this place is perfect for me.

They can only do basic services — manis, pedis, massages. Anything else — I highly recommend you do not use. As you can read from all the reviews — when they venture into areas that need skills, they fail terribly. I mistakenly had eyelash extensions done here and it was a nightmare. They were hard, brittle and clumpy. As far from natural as you can imagine. And while they did try to remedy the situation, the manager (who was also the eyelash technician) refused a refund or even a partial refund. Absolutely refused. I did not want them fix it — I wanted them off. Their definition of customer service has little to do with actually pleasing the customer and more to do with being entrenched in their position that «they feel badly» and tried «to fix it».
Bottom line — keep it simple here or you will regret it.

This place is excellent. Very clean and very upscale with great prices. Only place I get my pedicure done since it’s pain free and very relaxing.
