Never again. I asked for 4 inches to be cut off. They cut off 10 inches. They were rude. Customer service sucks. They double book clients and whomever gets there first gets the appointment and the other person is turned away. I was a client for at least 8 years. Customer service has gone downhill. I will never waste my money there again.

I had a great experience here! I made the appointment last minute for a hot stone massage and a facial and they were great. The staff is professional and the services were wonderful. I left feeling refreshed and relaxed. The only thing that I hate about this place was the parking. The parking lot was so full and I was almost late to my appointment. I finally found one after driving around for so long. That is the one con about my experience.

We couldn’t have lucked out on finding such a great salon near my house that has the best color specialist in town ~ Andy has been doing my hair as well as my mom’s for over 5 years with zero complaints. I am a brunette that loves the beach blonde look 365 and Andy has managed to work a whole head color and toner that gives me a compromising champagne hue that keeps the orange ring from appearing. My Mom does the reverse foil and her hair turns out fabulous ~ attributed to her ageless beauty at a young age of 70. Seriously she looks like she is ready for a photo shoot when she gets out of the chair. I’m a little more modest since my hair lives in a military bun and only comes out to play on weekends… lol. Prices are market priced — and I always tip 20%. They just picked up a great massage therapist — well worth the additional service. Pedi’s are always in full swing although we have yet to experience at this location. Andy and the gracious owner get 5-​stars hands down ~ book with Andy to find out for yourself!

I have been here now a couple times to get my haircut. I was new to the area and I’m always pretty nervous about trying out new salons but the Unilocal reviews were good and it was very close by to my apartment. Both times I have been here I have had Andy cut my hair. He’s very friendly and did exactly what I asked. I can’t even tell you how many hairdressers before I’ve asked for a trim and they basically chop it all off. But Andy made sure he knew exactly how much I wanted to cut before starting. Prices are very reasonable for the area.

I went to Soleil Salon because it was close to my home and when doing my research this establishment had received great reviews prior. I originally asked to be booked with Jennifer as she was highly recommended on other client’s reviews. I ended up seeing Christian who was extremely knowledgeable about different coloring and styling techniques. Before he got started he took to the time to educate me about what my options are in terms of achieving the look that I wanted.
Through out the appointment I never felt awkward and I felt as though he was very respectful of my personal space, making sure not to tug my hair while combing, and also checking to see if my beverage could be refreshed. I would recommend this salon and especially if you are looking to treat yourself.

I just moved to the area, and I was nervous about finding a new salon. I had an appointment with Jennifer for a cut and color, and she was great. She talked about what would work well with my hair type and skin tone, and explained the process and technique. She was open to my requests, and made sure I was happy with everything. I thought the prices were reasonable compared to other salons in the area. I will definitely be back.

Prices SUX! I came for a eye wax 18 $ FOR A EYEBROW WAX??? All prices are un believable. I dont like their customer service girl carlin all she was doinq was on her phone when i came with my friend to do wax did not greet us horrible they rip us off

Went in during my 30min lunch for an eyebrow wax. Had to wait just a little bit due to me not having an appointment. However was I stated I was on my lunch break to the receptionist Carla she immediately talked to Amy who did my eyebrows and let her know I was in a bit of a rush due to my 30min break. Amy within a couple of minutes was able to assist me. She did a great job and even penciled in my brows a bit. I will definitely recommend this place and Amy and I loved the wonderful customer service I received from Carla and Amy.

At first I liked this place because it’s close to my house and the bikini waxer is very good. However, my other experiences there have been negative and I’ve been really disappointed with their service several times.
I scheduled a spa special for me and a friend to celebrate my birthday in April. It was supposed to be a facial, massage, mani and pedi for each of us at the same time. They said there would be wine and a lunch included. What actually happened is I got a facial while my friend sat there for one hour waiting and then I got a mani pedi while she had a facial. The massage person canceled out the day before. We were both very upset w the lack of customer service or recognition we received considering that they messed up the services we were expecting to get. They didn’t even apologize. We found the nail facilities to be very tiny and not very well kept. There was no lunch or food of any type and the wine they finally offered was terrible.
Since then I’ve scheduled the massage three times to use the credit I already paid for. All three times they’ve called me back the day of the massage to cancel bc the therapist was not available. They refuse to let me use the credit toward a different therapist or another service. I will not go here again.

Hidden Gem! I went in this past weekend and had Jennifer as my stylist. she ROCKS! highlights look awesome and my cut was perfect! I will definitely be back. She’s honest and takes her time. HIGHLY recommend!

I went today for the first time and Jennifer did a great job on my hair. I was looking for something new and she suggested a bob. She was very patient as I explained my anxiety about cutting so much hair off. The result was beautiful. She blow dried and ironed my hair to make sure the layers were even. She also explained all of her techniques.
The parking lot was a disaster, but I called and someone at the salon suggested that I park in the side lot. It turned out fine and I had a great experience. I will definitely be back for haircuts and maybe even to have my eyebrows done!

I just had my hair done (keratin treatment and highlights) with Christian and I am so happy. I just wish I knew this place 2 years ago :(.
The place is a hidden gem in South Pickett Alexandria. I kept telling Christian that without Unilocal,I will never know that they exist.
The Salon is clean and tidy. Parking can be challenging on weekdays but I am sure it is not an issue on weekends.
The people are so personable especially Christian. He made sure I was happy with my color, how straight my hair is and if the layers he cut was enough for me. He took time to explain the product he is using which is very important for me.
I am giving FOUR star because they need to do something with their sign so that people will know they are there.
I would recommend this place!

On December 24 I treated myself and my visiting daughter to gel manicures. Amy is an awesome nail technician. My daughter who has lots of experience with paid manicures said this was the best manicure she ever had and lasted without chipping for more than three weeks.

For wedding hair services: Great treatment for me (bride), bridesmaids and mothers who came to get hair styled/​make up provided on day of wedding. The salon was very efficient, kept to the schedule and every one was very happy with the overall outcome. I had an issue with highlighting the week before I visited, but the manager ensured 100% satisfaction and had another stylist correct it at no cost which was a huge relief. Great customer service and reasonable prices for wedding services.

This place is amazing hands down! I got my hair cut from here. They’re super friendly and do a consultation before the actual cut. They provide beverages as you’re waiting and send reminders for your upcoming appointments. Def worth the trip!

I had a 60 minute Swedish massage — and it was terrific! The masseuse worked out all the knots in my shoulders and lower back. She asked a lot of questions and paid attention to the answers.
The only downside is the front parking lot. Lesson learned is to park in the other lot on the back side of the building. The front parking lot fills up quickly and people feel that it’s their right to simply park wherever when that happens. Save yourself some time and just park in the back lot.

I was hopeful that this would be my new neighborhood salon, but unfortunately I was not impressed. I went in for a simple trim and conditioning treatment. An hour-​and-​a-​half later, my hair was still sopping wet and had yet to be dried. Due to time constraints I had to tell my hair dresser numerous times (in the most polite way) that I had to leave by a certain time. She didn’t seem to pay any attention until I finally had to reach for my purse, pull my wet hair into a pony tail and get up.
The salon doesn’t appear to use the most up-​to-​date techniques or tools and the staff are lacking in the professionalism department. One of the hair dressers was doing her own hair and getting ready to go out while the receptionist spent more time on her personal iPhone than tending to the salon. This is definitely a salon that could benefit from Tabitha’s Salon Takeover!

Called last minute to have my eyebrows waxed. I was able to come ten minutes after our conversation to have them done. The girl that did my eyebrows did an awesome job. The room was super clean-​where they do the waxing and she was very pleasant. I will absolutely go back.

Loved the way my hair turned out! Staff was very friendly and cut my hair exactly as I asked. Definitely will be back :)

Salon Soleil is a little off the beaten path when it comes to Alexandria. I happened to pass by it on my way from Home Depot, and it looks very clean and inviting.
I have had my hair cut a couple times with totally acceptable results. Nothing to write home about, but my hair looked good.
The waxing services are good as well. The prices are affordable compared to Old Town, which is through the roof.
