You are missing out if you haven’t been here. Plenty of parking place. Dinner could be crowded but lunch time, no. So, try the place during lunch time and try authentic Italian dishes. Although Europeans especially French and Italians don’t have cappuccino after breakfast but I do at lunch. Cappuccino here is great. My friend swears by carbonara, others by mussels but my favorites are sole, fettuccine Alfredo, tortellini a la crema. I also like their fried zucchini which you can get in the evening. Too bad they don’t serve fried zucchini flowers in season.

Been here at least a dozen times. My usual is the filet of sole or one of the veal dishes. The sole is usually very good. However I was disappointed with the veal today as it was served lukewarm and was rather tough and rubbery. Also the dining room must have a ventilation problem as I kept smelling smoke from the kitchen

We’ve been coming here for almost 30 years. The food is consistent and good but the service has eroded to a point we have to rethink going here. When you make a reservation you don’t expect to watch people coming in(without reservations) to be seated first. No hurry to clear the tables that were available either. Higher prices and declining service will keep us away

Stellar linguine with clams in red sauce. My Mom orders this dish at every Italian restaurant she visits and hands-down, this is the best! Penne with sausage also very good. Plus friendly service and a quaint old-fashioned ambience.

My boyfriend and I came here last night and the food was absolutely amazing! He brought me here as a surprise and everything was perfect! The atmosphere in the restaurant was just amazing. He made a reservation which they recommend as they do tend to get busy during certain evenings, however when we arrived it was a good amount of people. We got some nice red wine to start us off and fried calamari as a appetizer. I ordered the Penne all’Amatriciana and he got the Manicotti. I found myself taking a couple of bites from his plate which was just perfect! My dish was also amazing but I got a bit full. I wasn’t expecting so much! The customer service was just the cherry on top of everything!

It’s a shame! The food is good, but the service is awful! They have staff that don’t understand english and can’t get your order right. The waitress got 3 out of 4 of our meals wrong — even after we slowly explained(and in some cases showed her) what we were trying to order. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and each time we leave, we say we will not be back, but this time it is true as it is getting worse! And for an Italian restaurant, the bread is awful! NEWMANAGEMENT is needed.

Via Veneto often has specials, such as dinner for two with a bottle of wine, on certain nights of the week. Thus, in the past, we have been motivated to visit for special occasions that happened to fall on Tuesday or Wednesday. We have been occasional customers of this place for several years. This review is for a weekend visit a few months ago. The food, wine, and coffee are fine. Paying full menu price for everything, we had high expectations of a good meal and an enjoyable visit. What stood out was mediocre service, although there were very few customers. The waitress commented multiple times within our hearing that she was ready to get the customers out and go home. We did not overstay our visit or make demands. We did have to wait a little while for the waitress to pick up our payment, which we set out as soon as the bill came. Even as the same waitress was commenting that she was ready to get everyone home, she delayed our departure by making us wait. The owner(I presume) sits at the same table every time we visit. At many restaurants, an owner may circulate or make a point of greeting patrons, but not here. I believe that Via Veneto has forgotten the role of the customer in their establishment. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The place is overdue for redecorating, or at least painting over the water stains. I don’t feel like I received the value that I paid for. Wally says that he is not inclined to visit again. We can have good food and wine at home. We go out for a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, which we did not find at Via Veneto.

I have been here many times and the staff has always been great, the food very good but sometimes the service is slow [slow because they’re busy, not slow because they’re lazy] I would recommend it to friends/family.

I don’t know why I keep going back because 2 out of five meals ends up being disappointing.

Via Veneto is always our first choice for takeout pizza. Their meatball and onion pizza is finger-licking good, and their cheese pizza one of the best we’ve ever had. In addition, their pizza crust is always cooking perfectly and seasoned just right. Highly recommend Via Veneto pizza to anyone in the area.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was amazing. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and a side salad with chicken. The Alfredo sauce was very good and tasted homemade. Was very happy with it. Portions are pretty big. We all took our food home. You get bread on the side with butter. Bread is homemade even the croutons. The service was great and our waitress was very sweet. Was a little annoyed at first because when we were seated we were given the wrong menu. So for 15 minutes we all wanted to order something we couldn’t. They brought over the right menu for us finally and we had to find something we wanted on that one. Small place. Lots of food options. Prices are fair for an Italian restaurant. Must try!

Via veneto is one of the few restaurants I have been going to my whole life and will continue to for the rest of it. I try to visit at least three times a year and everytime I do it is exactly how I remember, which is perfect. My favorite thing to get is the spaghetti and fetachini and mix together the sauces, it is what heaven taste like! When you walk in you instantly are greeted by this family atmosphere, it is such a cozy small restaurant where you can see the cook in the back making the pasta, the waiter refilling drinks, and the two sisters who own the place sitting at the same table in the back that where I have seen them sit for the past 25 years. Make sure you’re ready for the whole experience, get some wine, bread apps(Clams Casino) an entrée, dessert, and espresso. and keep in mind all the entrees come with a side salad and side of spaghetti! so you’ll need your appetite!

We found this little gem on Unilocal.I had the fettuccine Alfredo which was good but my husband had the veal saltimbocca which was Amazing! I kept stealing bites of his. Prices were reasonable. It’s a family restaurant so service is a little slower but they take great care of you! We really liked the cozy atmosphere for our date night. We did not have pizza but there were a steady stream of people coming in to pick up pizza orders, which all looked and smelled delicious.

A few months ago I came home to find my sister and her friend about a bottle deep into some great vino. I decided to join in and one thing led to another… we got pretty buzzed(get your mind out of the gutters). In our buzzed state we were looking to order some good food to compliment the wine we had. Seeing as the only restaurants that deliver to our area are pretty shit, we found Via Veneto and decided to carry-out. Let me tell you, that shit hit the spot! My sister ordered the Mille Foglie Alla Bolognese, her friend ordered the Penne Alla Lenzi(she asked for chicken instead of Italian sausage, and they had no problem making that substitution), and I ordered Tortellini Alla Crema. Although we went a little later than the twenty minutes we were told it would be ready(still buzzed), everything was still hot. The quality of the pasta and the ingredients were fresh and hearty; I really enjoyed how creamy the Tortellini was. I didn’t try enough of the other dishes to really get a opinion on them, but the girls enjoyed their dishes overall. Oh, and the bread that came with the food was delicious. I am really curious as to what it is called, so if anyone reading this list know’s, hook a bro up. Or I’ll just have to ask them myself, because I definitely plan on ordering from Vio Veneto Ristorante Italiano in the future.

We used to live down the street from this place and I will agree… take out only. We joked about ordering on the phone because it would always be either 20 or 25 «minoots»… not minutes, minoots! We ate there once and it is literally worse than a nursing home for atmosphere. Take out for your own good. The food is amazing and I sorely miss this place. Best pizza I have had outside my native North Jersey area. Nothing fancy, but really, really good food.

This is my #1 favorite pizza place. They brush the crust with garlic and use excellent cheese and their home made sauce. We get take out, 20 minutes and I have a slice of heaven. Ahhhhhh Thursday night can’t come often enough.

Although our first time dining here, we were impressed that everyone is treated as family. The staff seemed to know everyone there, it’s as if Via Veneto is the Cheers of Italian restaurants in Alexandria. The food was very good. I had the Vitello alla Francese, my wife the Lasagna. The service was wonderful, they took good care of us. If you are ever in the area of Mount Vernon, this is the place to go.

Love love the food here. I find that it is better not to have large selection on the menu, you get better quality and fresh food. This is a family business and for the past 4 – 5 yrs we always receive a good, reasonable service(we don’t like waiter to check on us every 5 mins and ask how is everything going, if my food suck I will tell you and if your food is good we’ll be your regular customer). As for the price I thought it is ok, not too expensive or cheap. 1 order feed 2 – 3 people in our family(may be we just ate smaller portion than usual). Two things they can improve on is bread and the container for TOGO. Otherwise food taste good just reminded me about my time staying in Italy as authentic as it can be.
