Enjoyed this little hidden gem in the city of Algona. What I particularly like about this place is the feeling of authenticity and the pricing is affordable. It’s about a mile away from work, a huge hit for local employers. I will be looking forward to going back. Horchata was delicious, wasn’t too sweet and grainy.

Brought a group of 27 bike riders here for our taco Tuesday ride. The staff was really friendly, nice and attentive! My steak tacos were delicious and so was the price! Only $ 5! The food came out in a timely manner,(timely for a 27 person rush, obviously it was going to take a minute) Good feedback from our bike riding group! We will defiantly be back for another taco Tuesday ride!

I really enjoy this place. It’s in my neighborhood and it’s great, authentic Mexican food! I prefer this place over Taco Time and Taco Bell any day. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

Absolutely amazing tacos. I just tried 4 chicken tacos for 5 bucks… amazing value. They don’t skimp on the delicious meat. This place is awesome. I have been in the food industry before. I know what food should be. This is all of it. I guarantee if you come here you will not be disappointed.

Great food at a great price! Ask for their habanero sauce if you’re brave and like it hot!

Love this place. Friendly staff, consistent recipes with quality ingredients and good portions, clean facility with napkins, silverware and condiments easily accessible, low prices. Just discovered it this summer and it’s a go-to. It’s not fast food, they take a reasonable amount of time(never more than 10 minutes) and it comes out fresh and hot. It seems like authentic southern or central style Mexican food regionally; this isn’t Baja or border food, and it’s not heavily Americanized. Just good.

Solid place for Mexican food right by the Interurban Bike Trail. It makes for a good place to fuel up when doing a long bike ride. They have outdoor seating as well.

Cheap and really good food. Reminds me of the taco shops in Vegas. Highly recommend this place!

There are so many wonderful reviews about this place, and as I was driving by the area, I decided I wanted tamales. Not the one out of the can and serve with rice and beans, but actual tamales still wrap in the husk. Unilocal tamales and this was one of the few restaurant that came up. So I stop in and it was pretty much empty excerpt for 3 people. The cashier was super friendly and took my order quickly. He walk to the back and about 30 seconds later my order was order. The tamales was just okay. I had the pork and they were a little chewy. The masa was drying out and there was no liquid in the meat. Overall just average tamales. Maybe it’s cause I came in late when they were getting ready to close. Next time I’ll try them closer to their opening hours to see how the tamales are.

Our first visit was a bit late in the evening, only minutes from closeing. Super polite. The tamales were good however wish they had sauce, a bit dry. Very good home made hot sauce.

Based on the other reviews I tried this establishment, ordered the 4 taco plate and the taco salad both with the pork. After eating half of my taco salad I found a very large fly that had clearly been soaking in the meat for some time, upon further inspection found a hair in one of the tacos as well. I am not commenting on anything other than clearly poor food handling practices and the high potential for contamination of ingredients at this location. I discarded the tacos and returned the uneaten portion of the salad for a refund and to make them aware of the contamination so they could discard the meat that has flies soaking in it, they offered to make me another one… with the same meat!!! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! I have a strong stomach but this made me lose it. Eat at your own risk!!! complaint filed with king county health department.

Update! Ok sadly tonight our favorite little restaurant was closed. We had to settle for puerto Vallarta. We were disappointed. The chicken was dry, they got our order wrong, and the tortillas were cold. Oh yeah and the price was twice as much! The food here at Tajin may be street food, but the care and quality exceeds many of the larger sit down restaurants that we have had!

Had to really think about posting a review. Would like to keep this place a secret. Many have had their food since they have very popular food trucks up by Amazon in South Lake Union. I don’t think many realize where the restaurant is since its kind of hidden in Pacific/Algona. I travel to Mexico a lot with my wife. The food at this restaurant is like what we get down there. I think many Americans are so used to the crappy Americanized Mexican restaurants like Puerto Vallarta or Azteca that they may not appreciate Mexican food like what is made down there. This isn’t the place to get tons of lard and cheese on your meals. This is the place to get great tasting Mexican food that doesn’t leave you feeling bloated or sick. The steak and chicken tacos are great. This is an unexpected hidden gem in the area. Would recommend to anyone who has an appreciation for good, authentic Mexican food.

Let’s be honest… The photos are misleading. The food here is very dissapointing. none of the items have flavor or salt. The menu has lots of variety and I was so excited to try this place. The fish tacos were dry… no flavor, I didnt finish. I also tried to Mole enchiladas. I dont know why none of their items had seasoning or spice. The chips were actually pleasant but thats about it. The horchata was gross and so was the agua de jamaica. I guess at least the food isnt greasy and processed. My friends had tacos. werent impressed. The location is cute and the staff was friendly. I MIGHT give it another shot if I am in the area. Maybe I just came in with a bad cook on duty.

Wow! Great food & experience! Too bad I didn’t visit here before — it’s next door but I prejudged because restaurants were in and out every year at this location in my neighborhood. I guess I didn’t want to attach to another fly-by-night business here? I don’t know. But this is not one of those. Exceptional service, clean & comfortable interior and great, authentic food. Lower prices than you can get in a typical family Mexican restaurant and portions are bigger. Totally worth a quick lunch break or visit with the family. I’ll certainly be back!

Great place we found near home, we will be back. Food was good and we left happy. Reasonable prices and service was quick. Haven’t tried the food truck but coming here to the restaurant was a good choice. The carne asada was a good choice for me.

This place is very nice on the inside. Didn’t expect it from the view outside. The lady at the counter greets you with a smile, if she isn’t busy. They try to get your food out as quick as possible if you are getting it to go.

I can’t state enough how wonderful the Carne Asada tastes! That and the beans. Seriously, best and most authentic Mexican food around with tons of flavor!!! It’s one of my favorites. The people that work here are pretty nice and always friendly. They have soccer on 2 tvs playing constantly. Oh, and the desserts are also tasty! I love the outdoor seating. So nice in the summer.
