Apex Automotive is a used car dealership, servicing the entire Chicagoland area. We are located in Algonquin, Illinois and are surrounded by the communities of Lake in the Hills, Crystal Lake, Barrington, Carpentersville, Huntley, Woodstock, Cary, Lake Zurich, McHenry, and Elgin. We also service the surrounding Chicago suburbs including Rockford, Schaumburg, Aurora, Naperville, Waukegan, Oak Brook, and Joliet. At Apex automotive our specialty is quality used cars that have been certified by our mechanic, and carry our Zurich three-​month, 3000 mile limited warranty. We stock sedans and coupes, mini vans and SUVs, cars and trucks of all types. Are lot is a diverse group of cars and at any given time you will see Acura, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Honda, Hyundai, infiniti, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, and maybe even the occasional Ferrari.

10 million dollar buildings and new car franchise signs go a long way to provide peace of mind, but the fact is the experience is not guaranteed by those things. Without the huge palace, we needed our service and our cars to be better. I wanted to open a dealership that could provide a better used car buying experience than people are accustomed to. I am utilizing the best principles from my 15 years of experience to offer quality, inspected, certified cars, at an affordable price point. Apex has relationships with over 20 lenders and credit unions, and offers amazing terms for good credit, bad credit, and even no credit at all! All of the cars go through a rigorous inspection and are reconditioned to standards above many of the larger new car dealerships.

Meet the Business Owner

Josh J.

Business Owner

Josh has over 15 years experience in the automotive industry. His career began in Portland, Oregon with the Tonkin Family of Dealerships. After 12 years learning all aspects of the business, Josh accepted a position with Zurich, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as an Income Development Consultant to auto dealers. Over the next three years, he trained executive management on process, products, and legal compliance. Originally from Lombard, Illinois, Josh was always looking to get back to his hometown — where he enjoys watching the Bears and the Cubs! He opened Apex Automotive in 2015 in his home state and resides in Lake in the Hills with his fiancée and four children.
