This was a very good place to go for a first time. I did a bunch of research into reputable places that did men’s waxing and this place really stood out. They were very professional and made the experience go by quickly and easy to talk to staff made it as pain free as possible. I’ve already decided to make another appointment and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get waxed.

I’ve been seeing Julie for Brazilians for over a year now. She is truly the best esthetician I have ever had. She is incredibly kind, thorough, and highly skilled. Face Value has high standards for the services they provide and it shows every time you enter the spa. The facility is immaculate and very welcoming! I recently moved to Chicago and despite the overwhelming amount of estheticians in my new neighborhood, I find myself making the 50 mile drive to receive services from Julie. In addition to Brazilian’s I have also received facials from Julie and yet again was thrilled with the service and the result. Look no further for an esthetician! Julie is the one!

This place is fabulous!!! I found Julie via groupon and have never gone anywhere else since. Her waxing is wonderful. She is extremely professional, spa space is clean and really beautifully decorated and she is easy to get in touch with for an appointment! I highly recommend this spa for waxing as well as their other services!

My wife and I both go here when we visit family, which is often. This is the best place in all of Chicagoland. Don’t hesitate.

Julie has given me more flawless Brazilian waxes than I can count! She is an expert that practices the highest hygienic standards in the industry. Not only that but she is a genuinely kind person with a knack for making near strangers feel completely comfortable by being a great communicator. She also cares about the quality of her work and aims to please. Those are the reasons I keep coming back. Come here if you want to look good ;)

This is the best and in my opinion, «the only» place for male waxing out here in the suburbs without question. The place is absolutely spotless, ultra clean and professional. Super friendly and totally accommodating and welcoming. Appointments were a breeze and my schedule was 100% on time.
I can’t stress enough how calming the procedure was made for me. Brazillians are not the most common male wax job, (and I have had a couple already) but hands down, this was the best experience I’ve had so date!
I’ve rated the price ($$) value in a honest comparison to all the other waxing salons, but actually the real value is in the human factor and care demonstrated. No judgements, snide looks or attitude that I had encountered at other salons. — priceless —
I live closer to the city but do the short drive out for my personal services! It’s well worth the few minutes of extra driving.

As you can see by all the 5 star reviews here, this place is the best. I get regular facials and brazilian waxes and have been everywhere. One place left me in tears and cleaning wax off myself.
What can you expect? At the end of the hall is this little hide away. Enter to a warm and friendly greeting. Undress as required or necessary and feel instantly comfortable knowing that there is no one else around. Enter Julie or Todd to go over your service, give you a professional and comfortable experience and make you feel at ease.
If you are having a wax, it is done with the utmost efficiency. Their techniques are top notch. You are left clean and hairless (in your desired area) and i have never even had a breakout from them.
If you are having a facial, the privacy and quiet of the room, their knowledge and technique and the relaxing atmosphere have you in heaven for your hour. I get chemical peels and have loved each one. My skin feels so clean and refreshed. I wish I could do it monthly!
Whether you see Julie or Todd, you are in the most skilled hands in the industry. You won’t be disappointed.
And one other thing I love. Because this is a suite type business, you only deal with your service provider — Julie or Todd. No receptionist, assistant or other salon guests to interrupt or disrupt your peaceful and private experience.

I had my first bikini wax at Face Value last week and I highly recommend their services. Julie was very knowledgeable and friendly. Best of all the wax was painless. I also got a great eye brow wax that did not irritate my sensitive skin. Next time I will include a facial.

Soooooo… I finally decide to muster the courage for the dreaded «Brazilian Wax.» Prior to taking that step, I had sent out a mass email to all my girls to see if anyone had done it before and if they had any recommendations and or insight on how to better prepare myself. Out of the 20 some girls, 2 had it previously done, everyone came back and said… I’ve always wanted to try it, but hey… let me know how it goes… I’m curious, they say.
So, after searching online, I came across Face Value Skin Spa’s website and really liked the type of services offered and their pricing. I reviewed the big chain spas and their pricing was out of the question… especially if you want to try something new like hair removal. I made my appointment and was pretty much nervous with anticipation… I mean, so many women and men have this done, it can’t possibly be THAT bad, right?
I see this big building and realize that it’s a buffet of independent business owners that specialize in beauty… great concept, one stop shop! I meet the very friendly, Julie, Business Owner, the Wonder Woman of Estheticians!
Julie very quickly puts me at ease and answered all my questions. I felt I had known her for years… and this was within the first 2 minutes. Her salon is clean and she takes all the proper precautions to ensure cleanliness and safety. The waxing experience itself… wasn’t that bad. Yes, there is some pain, but it goes very quickly that by the time you realize it, POOF… Smooth, Silky, Sexy Skin!
After a couple months of having the waxing services, I decide to treat myself to my spa days and incorporate facials. Julie has magic hands! Her facials are more relaxing to me than a back massage. My skin truly looks amazing. After I leave her salon, my skin feels tighter, my skin looks brighter, old acne scarring from my teen years are barely visible. In fact, I don’t even have to wear as much makeup as before. The blemishes/​scarring/​dark spots are literally disappearing. My friends recently commented on how much younger I was looking and what was I doing differently. I have not changed my beauty products at all. Julie works with you and doesn’t push her products on you which is fantastic. After I received the compliments, I did purchase the under eye cream and night crème. You only have to use a little bit and it goes a long way. I’ve had these creams for about 6 months and still have not had to replenish them. The products are very reasonably priced.
Julie is by far the best kept secret in Algonquin! Ladies and Gents, don’t waste another minute! Make your appointment, Get Waxed, Get a Facial, Get them both! You will not regret it! You’ll thank me for it, I promise!

I bought a some coupon for a facial last summer and thought I’d try out not only a facial but this new place. I was a bit surprised when I first showed up not knowing the «set-​up» of her salon. It’s in a larger building with little, independent shops throughout. So, this establishment is seperate from the others. I guess it’s a very European type concept which was pretty cool. The actual room/​office was quite nice… very clean and comfortable. The facial was great — she did a great job explaining things to me but allowed me to enjoy the experience.
Since then I’ve gone back for some waxing. I had a bikini wax done before my wedding and did a great job.
I would go back for sure, and recommend her to anyone. Her rates are great too!

Never treated myself to anything. Busy with raising children and career. After noticing my aging, dry skin decided to make an appointment at Face Value Skin Spa. Not only did I feel pampered but my skin felt more pliable and had a soft glow to it. Julie was very informative and suggested a regimen for my skin care which I agreed to. Aging gracefully has always been my motto but what we ladies don’t realize is that a little help goes a long way!

Julie was great! I used a groupon and was so glad that I found her! The prices are reasonable and the spa is very clean and nice. I will be making another appointment very soon!

Face Value is owned and operated by a husband-​wife team. Their space is part of a multi-​unit salon building. I bought a Living Social deal for three bikini waxes and a Groupon for a facial, and I must say, I was so pleased with all of my services! Julie and Todd are really down-​to-​earth, and they do such a great job of making their clients feel so comfortable. I’m completely sold! They are now my number one choice for waxes and skin services. During the second trimester of my pregnancy, my back was breaking out, which has never happened to me before. I went to Julie for a back treatment, and my skin has been clear ever since then!
Their salon space is very clean, and I could definitely tell that they take precautions to make sure everything is sterile. Even if you are nervous about your first wax, I think you would find Julie and Todd very comforting and friendly. They act like it’s no big deal, which is a great attitude to have, and it will put you right at ease. And ladies, don’t be creeped out by the thought of a man doing your waxing. Todd is trained, certified and very professional. At no point have I ever felt awkward or uncomfortable. In fact, he did my waxing when I was nearly 37 weeks pregnant, and he made sure to ask how I was doing and if I was comfortable throughout the process. Great guy.
I’ve been to a number of different salons for waxing over the years, and Face Value takes the cake.
