Per my insurance company, checked for best prices. Even though I had to drive an extra 7 miles to get there it was about $ 150 cheaper to have an MRI done at Premier Open MRI McHenry County than to go to Sherman or St. Joseph’s hospital. I called ahead with exact procedure required, when I got there the receptionist quoted the exact same amount which they asked I pay for before MRI. Everybody very nice there. A month later I get a bill for an additional $ 130.40. Nobody will give me a reason and I have called three times. I find this very unethical.

Were told to go to a different Open MRI business, but they were not in our medical network. This business is. So off we go. They were very nice at the location, and put my daughter at ease. At the end of the visit, I was asked if I wanted to wait for a copy of the films, or have them delivered to the doctor’s office. Of course, I want them delivered to the doctor’s office! Was told they would be there the next day. Great! Made appointment with the specialist for followup in 2 day’s time(because after all — they are to get the films in one day, right?) We show up, doctor has reports, but no films. Wasted appointment wasted co-pay, wasted time. Argh. Phone them and ask them what happened — well, they had a processing problem. Great — I understand — but why not let me know so I don’t make a useless appointment? It’s not a month later, and I still don’t have films. All they can tell me is they delivered them — but not when, how or prove it. Good thing it’s not an emergency, just a nagging problem from an old injury. I suspect I will be arguing with them about who pays for copies — it’s *not* going to be me. If you go, strongly suggest you wait for whatever it is you need for your next appointment. They seem to have some administrative and delivery issues. And if you can go someplace else, you may wish to. Will I return: No — I’ll try to find another in-network business even if it’s a farther drive. Would I recommend: No.
