Horrible service. This place deserves no stars! I have frequented this place many of times with the service being average. However, today was totally WTF. I came with my non-chinese coworkers and they ignored our multiple hails to order. The worker there, alan, never came to us even when we flagged him down 3 times. Two tables came in after us and the lady waitress took their orders while knowing we were ready and raising our hands. She even stared at us! When the lady finally came to our table we even had to tell her we were waiting for her. Customers should never have say that unless service is that bad. I made sure to order in english instead, just to give her a hard time. After we ordered, we didnt get our complimentary soup… unlike everyone else around us! The lady with the short hair is so rude. I also suspect their behavior was due to the manager not being there. After the manager returned from his break, only he made the effort to make sure we were okay. But eff that, i am so enfuriated at how we were being treated. The lady waitress was only nice to strictly asian customers. I am ashamed of how she acted towards my party, never will come here again.

not sure why I don’t come here often it’s a Hong Kong café I love their red rice(tastes exactly as what you imagine it to be; you can taste a slight tomato taste, but it’s the best tomato taste) and their chicken cutlet with black pepper sauce(chicken cutlet was perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside) and their lemon tea(sweet, but not too sweet; he lemon compliments that sweetness) I always come here when it opens, so parking is a breeze and it’s never packed! so yay~~

Very discouraged at this place. I come here every so often to eat and every time we come we leave a tip. This time our order was delayed a little bit and we decided this was one time we wouldn’t pay tip. I would come back and pay tip again but not after this incident. As we were leaving, the waitress said to us that we needed to pay tip. Obviously, a tip is a courteous action that we can do. She was very forceful and wanted us to pay it anyways. We didn’t pay because of her attitude toward about the tip. Also, while we were walking out, it sounded like she was throwing the dishes around. What kind of waitress would have us pay tip AND toss the dishes around.

Lunch specials are amazing as the food portions are huge! Ordered the rib eye steak with mushroom sauce with rice.(Pasta was delicious too.) let’s just say you can roll out pretty satisfied, but beware, it is greasy and buttery goodness! They also serve you creamed corn soup as part of the lunch special.

I always pass by this place and wonder if it taste good. I decided to try it on New Years Day with my family. Best to get there when they open at 11:30am. The staff speaks English which is nice. At 11:30am, the place fills up fast very quickly. Best to order your food quickly because there is only one waiter before 12:30pm. The free soup taste good and pork cutlet is similar to baccali French style pork chops. It’s kinda fried too crispy but it still taste good. The passion fruit ice tea is very refreshing and they are good on refills if you get there early. Service is spotted like any Chinese place. They also have lunch specials but the prices are similar to non-lunch items. The parking lot is small and fills up fast. The female staff talk fast and order your food fast. We didn’t wait too long for food to come.

The Beef Wellington was good but the lady doesn’t know what medium rare is. She asked if we wanted medium or well or rare… they were nice enough to fix it and it was good! I love the bread/crust. Picked the mushroom sauce. Yummy over rice too.

HORRIBLESERVICE(ESPECIALLY from PATTY!!!) We were waiting for the rest of our party who came 20 min late, but during that time we were sitting no one bother coming to ask of wanted anything to drink. When our party arrive we kept raising our hand to order no one even acknowledge us. They just kept walking pass us helping all the tables around us. Finally, I called out to a waitress(patty) she said in chinese«hold on a sec». I then see her taking order from tables that came AFTER us. She walks past our table TWICE and STILLDIDNOTTAKEOURORDER. After another 10+ min a tall skinny gentleman came to take our order after I said very loudly«excuse me can we please order now!?!» The food came out very fast and tastes pretty good. The boyfriend wants to come try their prime rib special. So ill give this place 1 more chance amd update review accordingly :]

Came here for lunch around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. No one was there to greet us or ask how many people in our party. We sat and waited in the waiting area. Forty minutes rolled around and one table cleared. They sat us down but didn’t give us the menu. I had to wave down a waiter to get menus. Finally we were ready to order but no one stop by. I had to wave a waitress down. When we got our order, 2 of the dishes were switched. I ordered pork with black pepper and chicken with mushroom sauce. The orders were reversed. But I was so hungry at this point to dispute the order. Food was average and service was terrible.

After dim sum nearby we realized we were still hungry so we went searching for dessert. Specifically the streamed almond milk pudding topped off with flakey puff pastry. Now we didn’t find that here(only streamed milk pudding) but tea set menu deals included many favorites abd cane with a drink and dessert. All for $ 7 – 8. I ordered the beef brisket lo mein and Sam got the HK pancakes. All good value and tasty. The only sour point was our waiter. He was big on being busy, but less on understanding questions or explaining options. Nothing complicated… just«which drinks and desserts come with our tea sets?» He also didn’t bring us menus after he sat us down. Basic stuff. Still, a great place.

Decent Hong Kong café. I’ve been to a lot of cafes in the SGV and café spot definitely made it to one of my top ones. What makes this little spot stands out is its clean décor and eating environment whereas most of the ones out there in SGV don’t really seem to care about. Also, there’s complimentary soup beforehand and dessert afterwards! I’ve been to café spot twice– both with a group of three, we all order different dishes and they’re all so good! Huge portion and most of the dishes come with rice/pasta. There are A LOT of food options on their menus,(goes from Asian fried rice/noodles/soups to pasta/steak/sandwich), which totally gives me a headache: P Passion fruit lemon tea– One of my all time favorite. The tea itself is not too sweet and it doesn’t taste artificial at all, which is good. Refillable($ 0.3 for takeout) Curry beef/chicken– their sauce definitely hits the spot. It is not as spicy as the ones out there or that we thought it would be, but it has a bit of spice in it which makes it extra flavorful. Chicken and crab meat baked rice with cheese topping– not bad but it is pretty filling. Steamed milk in puff pastry– it used to be one of my favorite thing to order at dim sum places when I was little. I’m happy to say that while it isn’t exactly like the ones served at most dimsum places, it comes pretty close!(For a fraction of price too) why not give it a try(: Service can be slow sometimes which I don’t mind at all as long as foods are decent, in this case the wait is worthy. Small parking lot but there’s street parking.

I came here twice because one of my friend wanted to go here. The second time we couldn’t think of any other cafes to go to(I know lame! But for a group that have tried so many cafes before it’s is hard to buckle down which one is the best.) Anyway, the first time everything went well. The service was decent for a table of 6 people. I wanted to order baked chicken over rice but I accidentally ordered the wrong thing. However, I did enjoyed my dish when it came out. It was rice with tomato sauce over it with chicken and veggies. For me, I love saucy things. They gave us soup beforehand and dessert afterwards. The second time was a mess. One side of the restaurant was full so we sat on the other side which we were completely ignored by. The guy who took our order(I don’t think he was suppose to take out order but since the lady was busy on the other side he took initiative to help us.) After our order more people were seated on this side of the restaurant. After our first dish came out we noticed that the other tables were getting their soup. We haven’t gotten ours. Anyway we asked this waiter and he was surprised that we haven’t get ours yet. But he kindly got us our soup. Our fishes came out and we devoured our dishes. I got grilled chicken with onion sauce. It comes with veggies and rice. I thought it was pretty decent. After our meal and check we waited for our dessert. Man service was so slow on the other side of the rainbow. We decided to leave instead. Plus side is that they do have a parking lot out in front.

Haven’t been here in a while. Thankful that I rediscovered this place! Lettuce with spicy bean curd sauce($ 4.95) has a bit of a medicinal taste due to the fermented bean curd … Tastes interesting. Not sure I would order again. Basil garlic chicken fried rice($ 7.95) is actually VERY flavorful. It is rice fried with eggs, green onion, lettuce, peas, carrots, and basil leaves. It has a nice basil flavor to it that isn’t overwhelming. Reminds me of the Thai basil chicken dish but lighter. I would order this again if you like basil! Baked sole filet with spinach sauce and linguini($ 9.95) really flavorful and better tasting than the ones in other nearby HK cafes or savoy. The sauce was flavorful and not too heavy. The sole filet was cooked perfectly! Hong milk tea is good here! Not watered down and the tea flavor isn’t overwhelming. Smooth and perfectly sweet. Only $ 2.95 and it comes with unlimited refills!!! Hong Kong waffle($ 4.95) is a good dessert here. You can even ask for condensed milk on the side which was recommended by a friend of mine during dinner. Don’t forget to drizzle their chili oil all over your food. It tastes so good :) Good food, service, parking, and reasonable prices. I’ll be back. For sure.

Never have I experienced such a rude staff. I just left the restaurant with my family to celebrate an early Father’s Day dinner. My fish cutlet came out first then my husband and father in law’s braised short rib came out 15 min later. My mother in law’s grilled sole and pork chop didn’t come out for awhile so we started eating before our food got cold. Anyway, we asked two waiters where her food was and they kept saying«it’s coming or two minutes…» More time passes and we are all done with our dinner. My mother in law still hasn’t eaten and it’s been an hour. We were obviously upset and tried to talk to our waitress but she wasn’t apologetic. Another waiter just laughed. We ended up canceling the order and left unhappy. It’s just unfortunate because we go there often and it was supposed to be a happy night. This update is based solely on their service. I know Chinese places are not known to have great customer service but this was beyond rude. Probably won’t be coming back. There are plenty of other HK restaurants around there.

Everything was below my expectations here. Service was slow and food was just okay. Their parking lot is also really small and street parking is limited. Sadly, my favorite part of the meal was the complimentary soup that gave in the beginning! Food: –Red Wine Braised Ribs(2⁄5) — This place is famous for these so I expected to really like these. They took a LONG time to come out and were so hard to chew on. The only good thing was the sauce. Sauce wasn’t too salty and was slightly sweet. Would’ve been great if the ribs were better quality. –Beef Tendon Curry(4⁄5) — I actually really liked this dish but it came out EVEN later than the ribs. From past experience, this dish doesn’t take this long and it took a while to waive down a waiter too. –Hong Kong Egg Cake(3⁄5) — My aunt hated this but I thought it was ok. Definitely doesn’t compare to what you get in HK though. This one is less sweet and tastes a little healthier because they use less oil. If you decide to come here, I’d think again. It’s already hard enough to find parking so save yourself some money and go to Savoy down the street.

I love the eclectic mix of food at this café. It has this mix of Asian food(noodles, rice, soups) and American food(think prime rib, pasta, steak, burgers) at ridiculously cheap prices! I got a plate of beef and veggie chow mein for 7.95 and it was out within minutes. Huge portion, tasted delicious, great service– who could ask for more?! I am really curious about that prime rib though…

So I ventured into another Asian Café. This place is located next to the Famous Sam Woo where Andrew Zimmerman visited not too long ago. They have a little parking lot & street parking. This place is more of a 3.5 Stars. Since there’s no ½ stars I gave it a 3. As I walked in to the café, my nose was hit with the intense scent of BUTTER! Yeah, that’s right… butter! The décor is very cottage like and they have a pretty large cabinet with different bottles of wine. The wine list was pretty long given that it’s an Asian Café. The Kitchen is open for everyone to see. They have a large Flat Screen TV for game nights. A large party table right in front of the TV. The café is sort of split into 2 sections. One side has Pub style tables & chairs with the flat screen TV, the other side has regular tables and chairs. I ordered the red wine braised short ribs. The ribs were tender & you can definitely smell the red wine in the sauce. The vegetables served with it wasn’t bad at all. And of course… butter! The Bortsch Soup was pretty good. Had a good flavor & kick to it. My friend ordered the Hainan Chicken and from what I heard, it’s comparable to Savoy. I’ll order that next time & see how that goes. Passion fruit ice tea was refreshing. Not too sweet & it comes in a Mason mug. Cute! Service was nice. Refills on drinks were well taken care of. Parking here can be a problem since it’s a little lot. There’s street parking and a side street. I’ll be back.

Who needs tacos on a Tuesday when you got eggettes & passion tea? ! As you would have guessed, I came on a Tuesday night and this place was pretty empty. No wait, fine by me! Service: The usual. Food: Eggettes: I actually like tasty garden’s version better… The reason being the fact that their version is more crispy. Café spot’s version is more doughy, but that is not necessarily a bad thing because it still tasted good. It is just a matter of personal preference. Passion Tea: I think this may be the only café I know that serves it. The tea was not too sweet and although they do use syrup it did not taste as artificial as those from boba shops. By the end of the night, I drank 3 cups of it and even to — go one cup to bring home. It’s that good. trust me ! Final verdict: I enjoyed the two items I ordered, so I will probably pay this place a visit again to try the food one day.

Avoid coming here on the weekend when it opens at 11:30. Unless you’re the first ones to order, expect to wait a while to get your food. 3−6pm is the best time to come when there aren’t as many people and the afternoon tea specials are in effect.

I think this place is a 3.5 café. There’s a lot of food options, from rice and noodles to pork belly and filet mignon. Not the best café food but pretty good. Every time we bring friends, they leave pretty satisfied. The curry rice with eel was very good. Curry was not spicy and the eel fillet was pretty big and tasty. Service can be slooow and inattentive but the food comes up pretty quickly. My green milk tea with boba was on the watery side but refills are free. You also get complimentary corn cream in a cup which is nice. Parking lot is small but there’s street parking and it’s not hard to find like nearby cafes.

Came here about three times and both of times… I totally forgot how this restaurant was like. Third time is a charm. Tonight I had dinner with Jennifer T. and I asked her how it was like here… she told me to read her review. She was spot on! Have you guys heard of ‘snail mail’? Well gosh me gosh… it was like waiting for years to get some service up in here! Parking: Yeah, good luck finding some when it’s lunch or dinner rush. Small parking lot that is shared with three or four small businesses. The residential area is alright. Kind of narrow though. Service: Service? What service? If you see a person looking straight at you… you don’t just walk away. Come on now… Jennifer T. was raising her hand like a little school girl… haha sorry… had to say that. At least come by sometime to see how we are! Food: Complimentary tomato borsche soup… was salty, had a lot of oil, and there was a lot of pepper. Rice with egg and some other… yeah can’t remember because it wasn’t rememberable. All I know is that it was bland! Had to put pepper to have some kind of taste to it. Grandma’s braise pork was nomlicious! It had a lot of flavor! The best part of braised pork belly is the fat that surounds the meat… mmmmmmmmm! FAT!!! Would I come back? Not for a long time… but I might have a change of heart!
