I love this place for its location. It’s a perfect place for meeting up with people to eat before heading east or west on the 10 freeway. Good food, good price, good service. You can’t go wrong!

I heard about this place from a friend who said her kids liked eating at this restaurant. When we finally tried it, we were pretty disappointed. The service was extremely slow. We had to wait at least 5 minutes to just get a server’s attention and then another 10 minutes to get what we actually needed. When the food came, it tasted very… interesting. Even my 5 year old said the food tasted funny. It definitely was because we ended up getting food poisoning from this place and will not be returning.

When me and my friends walked in, we were greeted by some nice people, but that ended pretty quickly. We had to wait about 10 minutes for the waitress to seat us. Me and my friends didn’t really mind, but then the food was below average. I ordered the Ramen California Roll. The California Roll was okay, decent at best. As for the Ramen, the quality of the noodles were a bit underwhelming and not as good as some other restaurants I’ve tried. The Ramen soup, on the other hand, was literally water and msg. It was enough to fill every one of us, but the price definitely isn’t worth the quality of the food we got. I wouldn’t really reccomend this place to others, but if you’re looking for a quick eat close by the area, this place is alright.

Man what a day! Went to Jimmy Kimmel live today and has a blast! After the show they brought us to One Direction’s concert at Hollywood Blvd for free! Such an amazing experience but after all that I became super hungry. Location of this place is behind the 10 fwy entrance between Atlantic and Hellman. Parking lot is small but I always managed to find parking I decided to go to Hanashima after a fun day. I ordered Gyoza + the Ramen set that came with the tempura. The soup base of the Ramen was light, not too salty. Inside came with bamboo(so bomb), naruto(the swirly thing), slices of meat, and lettuce. The tempura was nice with a sauce that compliments it’s taste. The atmosphere of this place is quiet.

Everytime I come to Hana Shima, my friends and I always enjoy the food. Though I’d have to say the portions are smaller compared to other similar restaurants. This restaurant is also shortly staffed, so the service is usually slow. I definitely recommend trying their Smoked Salmon Roll or their California Roll.

I really like the ramen here, there aren’t that many choices but their shoyu ramen(which is the normal one they serve) suits my tastes very well. The best thing about this place are the sides, even with just one type of ramen you can get a side of sushi, shrimp tempura, or other things they have on the menu. They also serve curry, grilled pork/beef/chicken, and tempura meal sets. Everything comes with a side so that’s a plus! The only con though is that they’re pretty short staffed so during busier times it would be hard to flag down a server, but other than that I really like this place!

This is one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been too! The sushi here is very good and is a very good price. Most sushi restaurants charge a lot for a small amount of sushi. Also, most sushi restaurants give 2 small pieces of sushi per order. This place gives 4 pieces of sushi per order. The sushi is also very good and is thick. 2 orders of Salmon and 1 order of California Roll will fill me up. And the price of that is $ 18.50. Most sushi places cost $ 40 or more to fill me up. This is definitely a great sushi place to go to that will get you filled up for a good price!

Fast, friendly service but super cold AC. The rolls and sets are really good, but for the ramen, the soup doesn’t really have any flavor. They have curry sets, teriyaki sets, and ramen sets, so a lot of variety!

Good, cheap, solid japanese food. Food is more of «japanese fast food» quality(on par with Ono or Shakas for Hawaiian food). Which is fine by me. Sometimes you just want cheap food, that will fill your cravings, without the fancy schmancy stuff. Lunch specials are cheap. But beware: service is extremely slow. Come for a cheap lunch, but not for a quick lunch! Also, parking is super small(shares the lot with the K liquor store). And this place is a little hard to find. It’s literally tucked right next to the freeway ramp on the corner.

The ramen that you’ll find here is not at all like the ones you’ll find in authentic ramen joints. The general taste is decent but not the best. Maybe the other dishes will have better luck but overall, the food isn’t that great. Prices are okay but the location is easy to miss. Service is what you’d expect at most MPK restaurants. You’re likely better off going elsewhere if you’re in the mood for Japanese food.

I ordered the House Ramen. I think the taste is okay. Didn’t much like the soup base of this particular bowl. Very bland and no taste really. I’ve never tried anything else though, but my friend said his ramen bowl — I forgot what he ordered — was too salty. I would order something else next time if I ever come here again. Maybe try something with rice. Chances are we won’t return haha

Place would’ve gotten 4 stars from me but our food came out with flies on them. When we pointed it out to the server all we got was a sorry and do you want another dish. At this point I’m so disgusted that of course I do not want another dish. If it weren’t for that I would’ve been happy since the food was actually decent. But they’re poor handling of the situation and the fact that I had a fly on my plate is enough to deter me from ever visiting this establishment again… Update: they did end up comping that plate for the issue but still will not be visiting this establishment in the future.

Pros –Service is great –Food is delicious(eel is to die for) –Nice, clean environment Cons –Parking is horribly small(enter from Hellman) Would have taken 1 Star off for parking but that is nothing anyone can do about it.

An old restaurant been around for decade but not suggest Ramen soup taste like instant noodles pork doesn’t tase fresh. Not too many selection on sushi not a sushi place if you want to have sushi. Service is friendly. Sitting is a bit unique feels different in a good way. Maybe other stuffs are good but I had better noodles elsewhere sorry. Seriously??? Takes 10 – 15 still waiting to get my check with only 8 tables???

We eat here on the regular, probably have eaten here close to a dozen times by now. It’s your basic Japanese at an affordable price. I usually get the Katsu meal which is Katsu, sushi, rice & soup for around $ 7. My bf always gets the shrimp tempura, which comes with the same stuff for $ 7. We always get the ramen on rainy clod days which is delicious. They have great Thai tea as well. Overall there is a large menu with lots of options and great food at an affordable price. We really enjoy this place and I would highly recommend it.

Good curry and ramen soup, the tempura is yummy and crispy they also have a small selection of sushi rolls, spicy tuna and smoked salmon. Lunch rush can be busy because the food here is so good and well worth the short wait for a table.

Service: nice server but took really slow, understaff Food: Not much of a flavor. Watch out for bugs if you’re going to order the Raman soup. Price: Decent but they charged me extra because I changed my order due to the bug in my Raman soup. Return visit: no

I frequented this place as a child but haven’t been there in about 10 years until recently. My dad and I decided to pay a visit for lunch. We both ordered from the lunch menu. He ordered ramen & california roll and I ordered«chicken teriyaki and tempura.» The server did not read back to us what we ordered. First, my dad’s food arrived first and mine came about 20+ minutes after. My dad was finished with his food before mine even arrived! Second, I asked for water but we did not get our waters throughout the ENTIRE meal even though I asked the server twice. Third, when my chicken teriyaki arrived it came with 2 pieces of shrimp tempura. I thought they were generous and give 2 shrimp tempura for the lunch set so I proceeded to eat it. When the bill came, they charged me for chicken teriyaki & shrimp tempura. I told the lady I specifically ordered from the lunch menu for«chicken teriyaki and tempura.» The server asked the manager and said they could not charge me the lunch price because I already ate the two pieces of shrimp tempura. SERIOUSLY?! Maybe the server should have read over what customers order to double check. And the reasoning that I already ate it is rude. I wasn’t so concerned about the price difference but more so about the concept. Crappy, terrible service. Even if the food is decent, I will not come back.

What are you in the mood for? Rolls, ramen or combination, curry, tempura? This place got it all for a decent price. Parking is very small and it’s shared with Circle K. Just make sure you don’t park in the Circle K’s assigned spots! I wouldn’t be surprised leaving here with minor scratches on my car. As we entered the restaurant, it was not busy at all for dinner. There were two parties at each end of the restaurant. We were seated with the menu pretty quickly. We ordered two combos(California rolls and ramen). Portion of ramen was big, broth was not salty; however, felt like something was missing. Ramen came with some bean sprouts, cabbage, bamboo, small piece of seaweed, two small pieces of pork. There were 8 pieces of California rolls as part of the meal. However, they were very small. In addition, each roll was loaded with mayonnaise, which was too rich for my buds. If you’re looking for cheap food then this is the place, but if you’re looking for real Japanese food I wouldn’t recommend this place.
