Food is HORRIBLE! Do not come here! We ordered 3 dishes. 1st: house special short ribs. It was recommended to us by the waitress, and the most expensive rib dish. I don’t know what was so special about this dish. It tasted like a plain orange chicken dish but made with short ribs. We probably should have just gotten the orange chicken instead considering the short ribs mainly consisted of bones and were cut very small. 2nd dish: brisket low main. DISGUSTING! It was as if they just soaked noodles in water and added a few pieces of brisket and bakchoy. The waitress brought us a broth that was supposed to give the noodles some flavoring. But the broth itself tasted horrible and watered down. I don’t normally send dishes back, but this dish was so horrible I had to. So the waitress brought us a different noodle dish. The beef brisket chow fun. Another DISGUSTING dish! No flavoring whatsoever! Overall, we wasted $ 30 on poorly made food and below average service. You could get better food at Panda Express.

I Only go there when I visit my friend… they are another typical chinese restaurant but they have the best fish hot pot(sour and sweer flavor) its a good place to go with a large group and some times they offer a good deal for lobster too. Its a decent place to grab some for Chinese food. Try some beef with Chinese broccoli and oyster clams for less than $ 20

Came back the other weekend two days in a row — one for lunch and one for breakfast. The lunch was all right … nothing special. For breakfast, the combos are pretty cheap and there’s a pretty good selection. I ordered the macaroni with ham and a pineapple bun with butter. Both were delicious, although I felt that the soup for the macaroni was a little too salty for my liking. The french toast was also good, although my parents said it wasn’t like the legit french toast they used to have in Hong Kong. The congee — nothing special, and the steamed rice rolls aren’t fresh(as they probably don’t make it at Harbor Kitchen) and there was way too much sauce on top. Breakfast wasn’t bad, but I would rather go to HK Café instead. :)

I was attracted and lured into Harbor Kitchen after noticing the«$ 2.99& up» banner raised outside the restaurant. Unfortunately, this ended up being an awful breakfast experience. I ordered the breakfast combination and received an average bowl of congee with no flavor, followed by a very salty dish of soy sauce chow mein. The coffee/milk tea complimentary with the meal was just passable. I guess you kind of know what’s up if you end up being the only one dining in the restaurant during breakfast hours. Not coming back.

Love coming here for brunch congee on the weekends =) I love how the sun pours into the place and how they decorated with lots of big green plants. Service is great! The place is always filled with Chinese locals, and even when I speak English to them, they treat me well! I usually stick to the breakfast/brunch foods, and it reminds me of home in Chicago’s Chinatown. Comfort food for me after a night of drinking. I usually have leftovers to take back, which is nice to nibble on while I study. Yay free parking lot =)

I came here today to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. I didn’t even know they changed owners and names. My first impression of this restaurant wasn’t good. The menu has been cut in half. However the other people’s food looked okay and we were meeting people here so we stayed. The Food: Average — It wasn’t bad, it did feel pretty oily and unhealthy. We got the baked sole filet over spaghetti with cream sauce. The spaghetti was pretty dry, the sauce was good, but really oily and heavy. There was thick layer of cheese over the top, which was good, but again oily. We also got the House special chow mian, which again was average. The best dish was probably the Shrimp with scramble egg. It was very tender and the egg was nicely flavored. We also got the sauteed green bean and beef curry. I didn’t like the curry. That dish you can see a layer of oil on top and it was almost too oily to taste the flavor. Service: The service was pretty bad. The people wasn’t mean or anything they just didn’t have time to help you. Cleanness: It didn’t feel very clean at all. I didn’t see anything disgusting while there, but it felt like it was below average on cleanness.

The only thing we get here is the clams with vermicelli with a wine soup and some sort of clay pot rice. I love the clams, it is awesome. The noodles are nice and thin, and the thing that I like about it is that it doesn’t soak up the soup. The clay pot rice, we got was the chicken with black mushrooms. They should really call this a mini clay pot rice. It was really small but I thought it was just A-ok. The rice was a little wet for my taste and not enough flavor in the soy sauce. The sauce always makes or breaks the dish… but this time I don’t think it helped at all. It is pretty pricey here but I think these two dishes are worth their price. –Give it a try, If you’d like.

Such a terrible experience here. PARKING: Designated lot FOOD: Typical cantonese café food. Nothing bad, but nothing extraordinary. Their jello dessert is pretty good! SERVICE: I came here on a Sunday morning with my parents. They took our order fairly quickly, and it only took them about 5 minutes to bring out the first dish. Upon spooning through my porridge, I noticed that it was the incorrect type. It took about 4 minutes to flag down someone who would help us, and then the waitress proceed to tell US that WE had changed the order. Um… no it says I ordered the corn porridge on the print out. We have the fish porridge in front of us. She called our original waitress over, and then THAT waitress told us that we had changed the order. Um, no, we didn’t speak another word to you after you took our order. It’s one thing to bring out the wrong dish, but it’s COMPLETELYRUDE to accuse the customer of the wrong doing. If we could give 0 stars on Unilocal, this place definitely deserves it for the rude service.

Quality of food has gone down. The service has gone downhill as well. The daily specials are not as good as it used to be that lures in the customers. I felt bad. I argued with my Father when it’s dinner time last night and he wanted ABC Café and I wanted Harbor Kitchen. I won, so we went to Harbor Kitchen. I felt even worse when the food fell below my expectations. Poor Father, we could of gone to ABC Café where he wanted and paid half the price and probably better tasting food. The only dish that was good was the Organic chicken in Chinese herbs soup. It comes with Goji, chicken, and some other cheap Chinese herbs ingredients. Doesn’t seem like we’ll be back! For the price we paid, we could of gotten better quality of food elsewhere. :-(

The price is okay, between 9 –15 dollars. The portions are great, I think one plate is actually good enough for 2 people. The food is okay, standard Chinese fare. However, this place is opened pretty late so if it’s late at night and you’re craving for authentic Chinese food its not a bad place to go.

I’ve only had lobster twice. Once, three years ago, when I told my mom that I never had it before, to which she responded, «Really? Wow you were so deprived growing up.» And again just today. I’d have to say that it was a pleasant experience. The first time I had it, I thought that lobster was overrated. But, now I understand why people love it so much. Harbor Kitchen is a great place for a casual lunch. The décor was very appealing, at least in the part of the restaurant I was in. The service was prompt and friendly. Every time I filled my plate up with beef bones and lobster shells(Man, my lunch sounded really la-di-da. But don’t worry I didn’t pay for it wink wink) the waitress took it and gave me a new one. The food was also pretty good, with the exception of a certain fish dish which name I cannot remember. The price is pretty decent as well. I recommend it. Period. No smart ass comment here. Just go eat there.

HOLYFFF*** this place has great food! Came w/a party of 5 we ordered family style, Forgot what we ordered, but everything tasted pretty good. We licked the plates clean. Come back again? F*** YEAH !! GET: Filet Mignon Cubes: OMG delicious, must be laced /w MSG because they taste AWESOME. AVOID: Sweet & Sour Pork: it’s waddaya-expect. sweet & sour pork. pass! Note: this place might have changed owners a few times, don’t know about the other reviewers, but everyone in our party were pleasantly satisfied. Only GRIPE: yea the $ 7.99 lobster specials you don’t get much meat. it’s just a sampler. Overall: Great food, affordable price. A nice spot for family-style dinner or HK style café food.

For me, businesses have to be truly terrible for me to give ONE star(and the only other place I’ve given one star actually gave me food poisoning) so… what happened with Harbor Kitchen? FLYINNOODLES: I ordered the Shredded Pork and Eggplant E-Mein and actually liked how they cooked the eggplant… BUT as my bro was eating his bowl of noodles, he suddenly stopped and leaned over to ask, «Hey sis, is that a FLY!?» I looked and true enough, it was a LARGEBLACKFLYCOVEREDINSAUCE. When we brought the fly to the waiter’s attention, he asked if it had just flown into the food, which it obviously had NOT since it was so nicely sauteed with the other ingredients. It was DISGUSTING! LOBSTERSHELLSWITHNOMEAT: The reason my family and I came here was because they had Buy 1 Get 1 Free Lobster. Little did we know that they would actually serve us EMPTYSHELLS. It literally looked like someone had gone through and picked out the larger chunks of meat. At first sight, I thought they had just picked up a table’s discarded lobster shells and gave them to us! I mean, how in the world does the claw meat disappear out of the shell and not appear anywhere on the platter unless someone took it out?! Not only that, but the pieces of lobster that were present weren’t fresh. They stuck to the shell and were mushy. SOGROSS! METALLICWATER: The«ice» water we got tasted like metallic soap water. JJ Café uses the same metallic cups and I didn’t experience any metallic taste in their water so I don’t know what happened with Harbor Kitchen’s cups of water. Needless to say, I will NEVER be back. UGH… I’m still disgusted…

Finally was able to try this place today! The last few times we were unable to find it or the parking lot was too packed. They have a ton of specials for really cheap :) I got there about 10:50 and they asked if we wanted breakfast or lunch menus. I asked for both but they only gave us breakfast… after asking for the lunch menu MULTIPLE times and not having anyone come back with it, we decide to order from the breakfast menu. Suddenly the waitress appears with lunch menus telling us we can’t order breakfast –___– She was kind enough to let us order breakfast anyway in the end… our table ordered mostly from the chinese style breakfasts: Fish Filet Porridge: lots of fish! Dried Scallop and Sweet Corn Porridge: Not much scallop. there was way too much corn and it was anything but sweet. The kernals were unusually large and round… and hard too :/Still edible though. Both porridges both tasted slightly plain to me, tasted fine to my mom though haha Pan Fried Turnip Cake with XO sauce: Good, coulda used some soy sauce at the table though :] The atmosphere was really nice! It was spacious and brightly lit, and reminded me of a really nice hotel lobby… in the best way possible. The service wasn’t too great, as I said. I’d definitely come back again though, their menu looked pretty good :]

This place isn’t that great. For some reason my mom likes to come here. I find the food to be rather ordinary(yes, ordinary even for a HK café). The menu is limited for a café too. It’s also based more on asian cuisines than other cafes. The Ma Po Tofu is actually the only thing I find tasty here, but that’s just because I love my Ma Po Tofu. The service is whatever. The food is whatever. The atmosphere is whatever. I didn’t go many times, but I prefer it back when it was Regent Café.

I remember back in the day when it was called Regent Café and the food was actually good and then one day someone got shot and Regent closed down not long after. Then it became something else… blah blah and Harbor Kitchen. Yeah… so ever since Regent closed I’ve tried my best to avoid this place unless I needed a spacious place with some privacy. Other than that, the food is really bad. If you have to eat here stick with the basics like club sandwiches or pineapple bun with butter. I think some people find this place appealing due to their cheap deals and specials they have. But seriously. if you are in 626, what are you doing at this place? Go down the street to JJ’s Café or JR’s to find better food. If you want other suggestions, check out my food blog at: Hope this was helpful

It’s quite a disappointment with their food here. This Harbor Kitchen is supposedly a HK style café which serves both Chinese & American food. We ordered an omelette with ham & fresh mushroom. It came as a scrambled egg with shredded mushroom & shredded ham, but only a little bit of diced ham cooked with eggs. I wonder if the cook really knows what an omelette is, or maybe the cook was cooking it like an egg foo young. We also ordered the porridge with whole talapia(my husband wanted to try this restaurant mainly because he heard of the radio advertisement). This porridge was served in a medium bowl(not big), it’s not hot, it’s just barely lukewarm. The fish meat didn’t have a good fresh taste to it. I noticed two other tables were served with the bowls of porridge and plates of fish when the waitress was carrying them out from the kitchen, about 5 minutes prior to serving us. I was thinking that the kitchen was making our order separately which should be hot from the pot. It was another disappointment when it was not served hot. I definitely won’t be going back any time soon.

As much as I like HK style restaurants this place so far isn’t the best. Harbor kitchen has simple and light foods. Prices aren’t too expensive. THey do have milk tea, but NOBOBAPEARLS. I’ve had: fried shrimp: plus spare ribs(red): negative preserved duck egg porridge: ok fish: wasn’t cooked service: a-ok They do have dessert displays at the entrance, but i’d rather not try them out. Even though I haven’t gone to HK yet I’ve had much better HK style food else where.
